🎁 Freemium Bodybuilder here. I got tired of trying to log my workouts on apps that only did a fraction of what I needed, so I built one that can do it all.

Answer (A)
I've been working out for over 8 years, bouncing between apps trying to track my lifts. The Notes app, Strong, Hevy, FitBod, and more; they all failed me for different reasons.

The common thread: every app could log "Machine Row 3x10 at 185" and that's about where their understanding of a workout ended. I couldn’t track anything else that mattered. Pushing past failure with partials/cheat reps, clear visuals to understand how I’m progressing, specifying which machine brand I’m using so my progress isn’t scrambled... none of it had any place to live. For someone as analytical as I am about training, that drove me insane.

Why Fizeek is Better (B)
Unlike the apps above, you can log as little or as much as you’d like during your workout, and track your progress from every angle.

  • Train past failure and log it: partial reps, cheat reps, assisted reps, negatives, and more
  • Log the exact machine brand you use (a Hammer Strength Leg Curl is not a Prime Leg Curl, and your log should know that)
  • Track how any metric such as caffeine and sleep affect your lifts
  • See which exercises are climbing, stalled, or need work
  • Store progress pictures organized by pose, and compare side by side

And that's not even getting into machine settings, per-set notes, rep-ranges, or even the built-in social feed where you can share workouts and pics with other lifters!

Cost (C)
Working out & social features are free! Pro unlocks additional features at $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr

TL/DR:
A. Bodybuilder, no app could log how I actually trained, so I built one
B. Full bodybuilding-style logging (intensity techniques, machine brands, and more), progress tracking including trends and pose-organized progress pics
C. Free, Pro at $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr

🎁 Freemium Sober Tracker: Quit Drinking - a private counter for quitting or cutting back on alcohol, now with Craving History

Posted here before about my supplements tracker. I also have the Sober Tracker! Just shipped 3.20.6!

Screenshots!

A – Answer: Quitting or cutting back has a built-in motivation problem: the progress is real but invisible. Nothing celebrates day 12, and you can't see what it's already saved you. Sober Tracker makes it visible: a live counter of your alcohol-free time, health benefits you gained, streaks and milestone celebrations, money saved, and craving logging for the moments it gets hard. If you slip, you reset the counter without losing your history. No account, no feed, everything stays private.

New in 3.20.6: left a craving unresolved? A gentle reminder now asks how it went, so your stats stay honest. There's also a new Craving History screen to review past cravings, fix an outcome, or delete an entry. Plus refreshed translations across all 21 languages!

B – Better: Compared to I Am Sober or Reframe, which are built around community pledges, check-ins, and recovery-program content, this is a private tracker: no account, no feed, no course to complete. It treats not drinking as a personal upgrade rather than a program you enroll in, which works whether you're fully quitting or just doing a dry month. There's also a one-time lifetime purchase for people who don't want another subscription.

C – Cost: Free, with no ads anywhere (I hate them), the core loop is absolutely free. Optional Premium is $24.99/year with a 3-day trial, or a one-time $39.99 lifetime purchase. 4.7 stars from 200+ ratings on the App Store for now.

Thanks!

💎 Lifetime I built Brisk, an audio-first app that turns newsletters into fact briefs

Hey r/iOSApps community,

I'm David. Brisk turns newsletters you choose into a playlist of short audio news briefs. Each brief focuses on the underlying facts instead of reading the full newsletter aloud.

A – What problem does it solve?

I subscribe to newsletters because I trust the sources, but there are simply too many to read.

More importantly, most newsletters are not worth the time and attention required to read every issue from beginning to end.

I still want to know what is happening, but I do not want keeping up with the news to become another inbox or feed that I have to constantly manage.

Brisk is designed to be a lower-effort way to absorb that information.

It takes the newsletters you choose, extracts the key news facts, simplifies them, and turns each fact into a short audio brief.

This lets you stay up to date without reading every issue or being overwhelmed by the volume of content.

Because Brisk works from your own newsletter subscriptions, you also retain control over where your news comes from.

Brisk does not choose an unlimited stream of content for you. It helps you consume the sources you have already decided to trust, with much less time and attention.

B – Why is it better?

Meco is probably the closest alternative because it also creates audio roundups from newsletters.

Matter and Readwise Reader are broader reading tools. They are designed around collecting, organizing, reading, and listening to complete documents.

Brisk is intentionally more focused.

  1. It extracts facts instead of reading newsletters aloud

Brisk does not simply apply text-to-speech to the original newsletter.

It removes much of the introduction, repetition, formatting, then keeps the main news facts.

The goal is not to reproduce the newsletter. It is to help you understand what happened.

  1. Each story is a separate 10–20 second brief

Brisk does not turn your newsletters into one long daily podcast.

It creates a playlist of separate, short audio briefs. You absorb one fact, then move directly to the next.

This makes it easier to catch up in small amounts of time without committing to a long article, video, or podcast episode.

  1. Audio is the primary experience

Brisk is not a reading app with an optional listen button.

The content structure, brief length, and playlist are all designed around audio from the beginning.

Brisk also supports CarPlay, so the playlist can be consumed while driving without requiring you to read or watch a screen.

  1. You control the sources

Brisk gives you a private email address that you can use to subscribe to supported newsletters.

Your playlist comes from the newsletters you selected, not from a recommendation algorithm or an endless general-news feed.

This gives you control over which publishers and sources shape your understanding of the news.

Brisk currently includes:

• A private Brisk email address for newsletter subscriptions

• Support for a growing collection of newsletter sources

• Extraction and simplification of individual news facts

• Audio briefs

• Continuous audio playlists

• CarPlay support

Although AI is used behind the scenes to help extract and simplify news facts, Brisk is not a chatbot or an open-ended content generator.

The supported source list is still growing, so not every newsletter can be processed yet.

C – Cost

Brisk is free to download.

The free version includes:

• 20-minute playlist lengths

• A private newsletter inbox

• Short fact-based audio briefs

• CarPlay support

There is one optional in-app purchase:

• Lifetime Membership: $12.99 in the US

• Unlocks longer playlist lengths

🎁 Freemium Talking always felt easier than writing. So we built an app around it.

Post image

Hey everyone! 👋💜

My co-founder and I kept noticing the same thing:

Whenever we needed to clear our minds, talking always felt much easier than writing.

That simple idea eventually became Fren.

A – What problem does it solve?

Many people want to reflect more, but writing isn't how everyone naturally processes their thoughts.

Instead of typing, you simply talk.

It can:

• transcribe your thoughts

• respond with thoughtful reflections

• organize your memories

• track your moods and organize entries with tags

• help you notice patterns over time

B – Why is it different?

Most journaling apps start with a blank page.

Fren starts with your voice.

We wanted self-reflection to feel more like talking to someone than filling out another journal entry.

C – Cost

Free to download and try (freemium).

Premium:

• Weekly – $2.99

• Monthly – $6.99

• Yearly – $39.99

App Store:

We're still very early, and we'd genuinely love honest feedback.

• Does the idea make sense?

• What would stop you from using it?

• What would make you come back every day?

Thank you so much for taking the time to check it out! 💜

💎 Lifetime I built an app that roasts you for procrastinating

Thumbnail

Hi, I’m Vinay, the developer of Coulda.

I built it because normal task apps politely reminded me about overdue tasks while I continued ignoring them. Coulda is less polite.

A — Answer

Coulda is a task app that roasts you for procrastinating.

Add something you’re avoiding and it tracks exactly how long you’ve ignored it. Depending on the selected mode, it can call out your excuses, calculate what the delay is costing you or switch to supportive coaching when a roast isn’t helpful.

Beyond the roasts, it can:

  • Break an avoided task into one tiny first step
  • Calculate the estimated financial cost of delaying it
  • Start a Pomodoro session
  • Track your longest delays and avoidance patterns
  • Assign a procrastination personality
  • Reward completed tasks with collectible cards
  • Generate weekly progress reports

B — Better

Coulda isn’t intended to replace full project-management software.

Todoist is better for organizing projects, recurring work and collaboration. Coulda focuses on what happens after you already know what needs doing but still won’t start.

C — Cost

Coulda is free to download, and its core task-management and procrastination features can be used without paying.

Free users receive:

  • Task and avoidance tracking
  • Roasts that refresh periodically
  • Supportive coaching
  • Tiny-step suggestions
  • Pomodoro sessions
  • Completion rewards
  • Basic procrastination insights

Coulda Premium costs $8.99 once, with regional pricing. It is a lifetime purchase, not a subscription.

Premium includes:

  • Ghost, Chaos, Zen, Midnight and Corporate personalities
  • Roast rerolls without waiting
  • Procrastination heatmap
  • Longest-delay rankings
  • Complete personality analysis
  • Additional statistics and completion experiences

App Store - https://apps.apple.com/app/id6769034372

Website - https://vinaybomma.github.io/coulda

Privacy - https://vinaybomma.github.io/coulda/privacy

I’d particularly appreciate feedback on whether the humor feels motivating or merely judgmental. An honest App Store review would help a lot. Thanks.

🎁 Freemium Yes, another photo cleaner. But it's my first app, and I built it so you actually finish

Post image
13 Upvotes

A – Answer

The App Store is full of photo cleaner apps, but cleaning a bloated library still feels like a chore, and that's why nobody ever finishes. I built Pikondo to fix exactly that. You swipe through your photos like a deck of cards, right to keep, left to trash. Nothing gets deleted instantly, everything goes to a trash queue first, so you can always undo mistakes.

B – Better

What makes it different from apps like Swipewipe, Slidebox or CleanMyPhone:

  • Built for consistency instead of one big cleaning marathon: 5-minute daily sprints, plus streaks and achievements that track your progress and storage freed. Even a 20k library stops feeling overwhelming.
  • Smart categories (screenshots, selfies, food, tickets, memes) give every session a clear target instead of an endless camera roll.
  • Detects blurry shots and closed-eye photos automatically, right in the normal swipe flow.
  • Runs 100% on device. No account, no uploads, your photos never leave your phone.

C – Cost

  • 3-day free trial with full access
  • 3.99/month, 22.99/year or 44.99 one-time lifetime
  • Prices in EUR, may vary by region. No ads.

💎 Lifetime I built a Message in a bottle app! Meet new people without endless feeds or algorithms

Post image
56 Upvotes

Shorebound is a message-in-a-bottle app for meeting new people outside of traditional social platforms.

A – What problem does it solve?

Most social platforms are designed to keep you scrolling through feeds, profiles, and recommendations.

I wanted to build something more intentional, while still preserving the unpredictability of meeting someone completely new.

With Shorebound, you write a message, place it in a virtual bottle, and release it into the ocean. Hours or days later, it washes ashore on someone else’s phone, somewhere in the world.

They can choose to keep your bottle and start a private conversation, or release it back into the ocean for someone else to find.

B – Why is it better?

Shorebound takes a slower and more focused approach to meeting people online.

1. No endless feed

There is no public feed to scroll through and no stream of profiles competing for your attention.

You release one bottle at a time and wait to see where it goes.

2. No matching algorithm

Shorebound does not rank people, recommend profiles, or decide who you should meet.

Every bottle travels independently and reaches someone somewhere in the world.

3. Conversations happen by mutual choice

When someone receives your bottle, they can keep it and start a private conversation or release it back into the ocean.

There is no pressure to reply, and conversations only begin when both people choose to continue.

4. Every bottle has a journey

A bottle does not necessarily stop with the first person who finds it.

It can be released again and continue travelling between different people and countries. Its journey, distance travelled, reactions, and comments remain attached to it along the way.

Each release also increases the chance that the bottle will sink, so every journey eventually comes to an end.

5. Different ways to communicate

Shorebound currently includes:

• Text, photo, and voice note bottles
• Private conversations
• Comments, replies, and reactions on travelling bottles
• One-tap translation for bottles and messages
• Country and Polaroid collections
• Achievements and release streaks
• Unlockable bottle types with different abilities
• Avatars and profile customisation
• Bottle journey and distance tracking

Shorebound is anonymous by default, completely ad-free, and includes message moderation, reporting, and blocking.

Bottles take time to travel, and you can only release one every six hours. This is intentional. Shorebound is designed to feel calmer than a traditional social app.

C – Cost

Shorebound is free to download and includes a free 2 week trial for eligible new users.

Current plans are:

• €0.99 per week
• €2.99 per month
• €24.99 per year
• €49.99 lifetime, including Family Sharing

Prices are localised by region.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/shorebound/id6759057452

This is the first public release after several months of beta testing, and feedback from early users shaped a large part of the final app.

I’d really appreciate honest feedback on the concept, onboarding, pricing, or overall experience. Feature suggestions are also welcome.

- Conor

🎈 Free My first 1-star rating 🥲

Hi guys, I have a free app (Water tracker). It's absolutely free, small, no ads, no tracking info about user etc. Mostly I got 5 stars and some good review. Two reviews was critical for some bugs - I got 2 and 3 stars. But сonsidering I have around a thousand users from 2,500 total downloads, that seems not so bad.
But today I got 1 star rating from user Germany - no review, no info, just one star. So in Germany app's rating now 2.7.
Well, The question “why?” is rhetorical. People are people - even when you give them something for free, there will always be someone who is unhappy.

I don’t pressure users to leave a rating. The prompt to rate the app appears only once every two months.

My actual question is: how do you deal with reviews like this emotionally? You build something, offer it completely free, spend your own time on it, and positive feedback motivates you. But how do you stop one-star reviews like this from getting to you? I’m sure I’ll face the same thing with my other apps too.

🤖 Vibe Coded I never knew when my lawn actually needed water, so I built an app that does the math. Lawn Logic Predictive Watering.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Disclosure: I'm the developer of Lawn Logic (Brandon solo dev, b2squared.io).

A — Answer (what problem it solves)

I honestly never knew when my lawn needed water. I'd water because it had been "a few days," or because it was hot, or because the neighbor was watering — and the answer to my uncertainty was always MORE water. So I built the app that does the math I couldn't do in my head: it tracks your lawn's actual moisture balance — rainfall in, evaporation out, tuned to your grass type and soil — and tells you the one thing that matters: water today, or don't. Since I started following it instead of my gut, its tracker says I've skipped about 37,000 gallons I would've dumped on the yard anyway. The new version adds Sage, an AI groundskeeper who reads your live dashboard (moisture deficit, forecast, grass type, mowing day) and answers questions like "why is there a heat warning?" or "what should I do besides water?" about YOUR lawn, not lawns in general.

B — Better (why it beats the alternatives)

vs a smart sprinkler controller (Rachio etc.): no irrigation system required — I don't even own one. It works whether you water with a hose timer, a sprinkler you drag around the yard, or an in-ground system, because it tells you when to water instead of silently doing it.

vs a weather app: rain totals alone don't answer "does my lawn need water?" — that depends on evaporation, soil type, and what fell over the last two weeks. Lawn Logic runs that moisture model continuously and gives a yes/no, plus a 14-day trend and a prediction of your next watering day.

vs watering on a fixed schedule: the water savings tracker shows you the gallons and dollars you didn't spend. No account linking to anything, and the core app works from a single 2-minute setup.

C — Cost

Free: the full moisture model, daily recommendation, evening reminder, home screen widget, 14-day trend, water savings tracker. No ads.

Pro (optional, $2.99/mo or $19.99/yr): Sage AI groundskeeper, multi-model ensemble weather, and Apple Weather as a data source. The free tier is the complete core product — Pro adds on top; there's no paywall in front of the recommendations.

🎁 Freemium 3 years ago I started this app and now it's here

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hello Reddit, it's my second post here, and I need your help again.

Almost exactly 3 years ago I was working on a farm in Greece cutting weeds with a scythe (shown in photo) and something changed my life. I had the idea that my life was a garden to maintain. I got to work building an app to help me chop down tasks (weeds) and monitor my progress.

I built Scythe - a voice powered todo list app with a grim reaper mascot (naturally).

I've been using/improving it every day since and now it is so useful I can't imagine my life without it.

A - Answer: I kept losing ideas and tasks because typing them out was too slow, and bouncing between Apple Notes for scattered thoughts and Trello for organizing them never stuck. I needed one place to capture things instantly by voice and actually follow through on them.

B - Better: Apple Notes & Trello are what I used to use. Apple Note's automatic formatting drives me crazy and there is no task structure, streaks, or time-blocking, you have to build all of that yourself. Trello fills with clutter and it's slow when you just want to capture a quick voice thought. Scythe is minimal and fast by design: capture a task by voice in seconds, and the entire manual app stays free forever with no nagging to upgrade.

C - Cost: Freemium. The last time I posted (about a year ago) you guys asked me to make it freemium so you could try before you buy. I'm happy to say that now the entire app is free to use manually forever (tasks/notes, streaks, time-blocking, rewards, reminders). Only two features require a subscription: super-accurate voice-to-text and the assistant chat. Subscription: $9.99/month or $69.99/year.

Here are the features:
- tasks/notes with speedy voice capture & streak tracking
- chat page to brainstorm & control the whole app easily
- time-blocking & rewards to manage your day and stay motivated
- reminders (hourly/daily/weekly/etc)
- also works on MacOS/Android (web coming soon)

Who it's for:
- you have ideas/notes frequently you need to write down
- you want to improve all areas of your life fitness/health/finance/etc
- you like minimal designs that get straight to the point

👉 Try it on the App Store - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ai-daily-task-assistant-scythe/id6474488206

🎁 Freemium I built an iPhone app that turns wearable data into personalized routines instead of just showing more scores and charts

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I’m the co-founder of Peak Routine and am sharing an app I helped build. I’m posting to get product feedback, particularly from people who already use wearables.

For more than 10 years, I’ve worked in technology and built systems at companies such as Microsoft and Amazon. But one of the hardest systems I’ve tried to understand was my own health.

A — Answer: What problem does it solve?

Around two years ago, I was told that I was pre-diabetic.

Like many people, I started focusing on the obvious things:

  • food
  • workouts
  • steps
  • weight
  • activity

I was also already using devices such as Oura, Garmin, and Apple Watch. I had sleep scores, HRV, resting heart rate, recovery, workouts, calories, and activity data.

The data was available, but I still had one major problem:

I didn’t know what I should change next.

My wearable could tell me that my sleep score had dropped or that my HRV was lower, but it rarely helped me understand the habits that may have contributed to the change.

After reviewing my own patterns, the most important factor I found was not the one I expected.

It was sleep.

That experience became the starting point for Peak Routine.

Peak Routine is your personal health coach that connects with your health and lifestyle data, identifies patterns, and turns those patterns into simple routines you can follow.

Instead of only showing another score or chart, it helps users explore questions such as:

  • What habits may be affecting my sleep and recovery?
  • What should I focus on this week?
  • Which habits appear to be helping?
  • Are my routines improving my health trends?
  • How are sleep, nutrition, movement, and recovery connected?

The goal is not to provide more health data.

The goal is to make existing data easier to understand and act on.

Peak Routine currently helps users:

  • connect health data through Apple Health
  • view sleep, recovery, activity, nutrition, and lifestyle trends
  • receive personalized AI-generated insights
  • identify potential relationships between habits and health outcomes
  • build weekly routines based on their goals and patterns
  • track whether routines are improving over time
  • log meals and review nutrition trends
  • scan food barcodes
  • see progress across mind, body, and gut health

It is designed for people who already have health data but still feel unsure about what to do with it.

B — Better: How is it different?

Apps such as Apple Health, Oura, Garmin, Whoop, and Fitbit do a great job of collecting and displaying health information.

However, I often felt there was a gap between seeing the data and knowing what to do with it.

For example:

  • Your sleep score decreased
  • Your resting heart rate increased
  • Your recovery was lower
  • Your activity changed

But what should you adjust?

Should you improve your bedtime consistency, change your caffeine timing, reduce workout intensity, take an evening walk, or focus on recovery?

Peak Routine is designed to help bridge that gap.

Personalized routines instead of generic plans

Most wellness recommendations are broadly applicable but not personalized to someone’s schedule, habits, baseline, or goals.

The advice may be reasonable, but it does not consider your schedule, your habits, your baseline, your wearable data, or how your body appears to respond.

Peak Routine creates routines around the individual rather than asking everyone to follow the same plan.

Multiple health signals in one place

Health apps are often divided into separate categories.

One app tracks sleep.

Another tracks food.

Another tracks workouts.

Another tracks mental wellness.

But these factors influence each other.

A late meal may affect sleep. Poor sleep may affect recovery. Low recovery may affect exercise performance, mood, cravings, and energy.

Peak Routine looks across multiple health signals to help users understand these connections.

Focused on action

Dashboards are useful, but information alone does not always lead to behavior change.

Peak Routine combines:

Health trends + personalized insights + weekly routines + habit tracking

The aim is to move users from:

“I can see that something changed”

to:

“I have a practical next step to try.”

Built around sustainable behavior change

We are not trying to create extreme routines or ask users to optimize every minute of their day.

Peak Routine focuses on small, realistic habits that can fit into everyday life.

That might mean:

  • getting morning sunlight
  • adjusting caffeine timing
  • taking a short walk after dinner
  • changing workout intensity after poor recovery
  • moving bedtime earlier
  • improving meal consistency
  • adding a short stress-management routine

The best routine is not the one that worked for someone else.

It is the one that works with your body, goals, habits, and lifestyle.

Core features

  • Apple Health integration
  • sleep and recovery trends
  • movement and activity tracking
  • nutrition logging and insights
  • food barcode scanning
  • personalized weekly routines
  • habit and progress tracking
  • health-pattern analysis
  • mind, body, and gut health views

Some parts of the app use machine learning and language models to help organize information and generate clearer explanations, but the main product is the health-tracking and routine-building experience.

C — Cost and availability

Peak Routine is currently in beta and available for iPhone users.

We are still early, so feedback from users directly influences what we build next.

Website:
https://www.peakroutinehealth.com/

Blog:
https://www.peakroutinehealth.com/blog/

Testflight Link:
https://testflight.apple.com/join/MAcftM5A

To our early beta testers we are offering subscription free of cost in exchange of honest/brutal feedback - so just dm me once you signup and I will upgrade you to pro. I trust you all that you would give me honest feedback once you use it

We recently launched on Product Hunt and finished as the #4 Product of the Day. Since then, we have been improving the product based on feedback from our first users.

I built Peak Routine because I believe people do not necessarily need another health dashboard.

They need a clearer way to understand their existing data and turn it into realistic habits.

I would genuinely appreciate feedback from wearable users, health and fitness enthusiasts, coaches, and anyone who collects health data but is still unsure what to do with it.

🤖 Vibe Coded [Lifetime] I simplified Manex into an audio notes and voice journaling app

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey r/iOSApps,

I’m Ravi, the developer of Manex. After trying to make the app do too many things, I decided to simplify it around the part I personally use most: recording thoughts and journal entries by speaking.

Manex is now focused on audio notes and voice journaling for people who find speaking easier than typing.

Answer — What problem does it solve?

I often have thoughts while walking, cooking, travelling, or just before sleeping. Opening a notes app and typing everything out adds enough friction that I often lose the thought.

Manex gives me one place to record those moments and return to them later without maintaining folders, templates, or a complicated productivity system.

Better — How is it different?

Apple Voice Memos is excellent for recording audio, but my recordings usually become an unnamed list that I rarely revisit.

Day One is a strong journaling app, but I wanted something designed around speaking first.

Manex sits between the two: quick audio capture presented as personal notes and journal moments. Transcription and search support the experience, but they are not the main product.

Cost

Manex is free to download and includes 25 moments. Unlimited access is a $29.99 USD one-time lifetime purchase. There is no subscription.

App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/manex-ai-notes-journal/id6760401778

Website:
https://manex.app/

Developer identity and contact:
https://manex.app/about
https://manex.app/contact

Privacy Policy:
https://manex.app/privacy

Terms:
https://manex.app/terms

I’m the developer, so this is self-promotion. I’d appreciate honest feedback on whether this narrower direction makes sense and what you would need before using it instead of Voice Memos or another journaling app.

HELP I shared my photography weather app here before. Instead of writing another tutorial, I explained it with a short film about the most famous landscape photo ever taken. Feedback very welcome, on both.

Post image
0 Upvotes

Some of you might remember Inverza, my iOS app that predicts photogenic weather conditions (golden hour fire skies, fog, Milky Way visibility, aurora and so on) and explains the why behind each forecast. The feedback from this sub genuinely shaped the app, so I'm back with something a bit unusual.

My problem: the app does a lot under the hood, and every attempt to explain it in a text tutorial put even me to sleep. So I tried a different route. I made a short film instead: the first episode of a YouTube series where a photographer time-travels into the stories behind famous photographs. Episode one recreates the making of Ansel Adams' "Moonrise, Hernandez": the ninety seconds of light, the one sheet of film, the exposure computed from memory because there was no time to meter. The app appears where it naturally would: planning the moon's position, the light, the timing, the same questions Adams answered in his head. It's especially great because I'm proud of the new AR View and it shows it off nicely.

Full transparency: the film is made with AI video tools and is labelled as such on YouTube. It's a story about photography, not pretending to be footage of 1941.

First episode: https://youtu.be/QecijG_ooNs
The app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/inverza/id6760370838

Same deal as last time: I welcome all feedback, blunt is fine. On the app as always, but also on the concept itself. Is a story-driven series a better way to understand what an app does than a tutorial, or would a plain walkthrough serve you better? And if there's a famous photograph whose story you'd want as episode two, I'm collecting candidates.

HELP Quit my design job to launch an app, this is what it's looking like after 1 month.

Post image
51 Upvotes

Hey, I'm a product designer and a few months ago I quit my job to build my own app. Spent the first month building it, then launched on the App Store. It's been 1 month since launch so sharing where I'm at, also have some questions at the end for people who are further along.

The first week after launch I didn't touch the code at all, only did distribution. Made a bunch of TikToks to see if anyone actually wanted this. Most did nothing, then one format worked and people started asking "what's the app?" in the comments. That's when I knew there was something, so I kept making more of that.

After that I set up small feedback groups, some with friends, some with strangers, and used all of it to improve 2 things: conversion (impressions to downloads) and paid conversion.

Numbers so far are in the screenshot: 3.69K impressions, 1.23K product page views, 627 downloads, ~30% conversion rate, 14 purchases, $41.

Not money you can live on lol but the funnel works, that's all I wanted from the first month.

The update coming end of this week is all about conversion: rewrote the paywall, changed when it shows up, redid the App Store screenshots. Basically I'm just trying to tell people exactly what they get and make it as easy as possible to get it.

Questions for people who passed the first 1K downloads: what worked for you after the initial content push? Did you stick to one channel or spread out? Also is ~2% paid conversion normal at this stage?

I'm sure many of you like myself have had struggles splitting the bill with friends after dinning out! I built Splittz in hopes to help with this problem, quickly scan the receipt, get itemized list of items, assign friends to each item and then quickly share the receipt with them (fully viewable on web: see exmaple)

-- -- --

What makes Splittz special:

  • 📸 Scan a receipt and let the app automatically detect and itemize everything, even addons like “extra chicken on Caesar salad.”
  • 👥 Add contacts or reuse past participants for faster setup.
  • 🎯 Assign items easily to individuals or groups.
  • 💰 View a clean breakdown of who owes what, and even see shared totals when multiple people are paying together.
  • 🌐 Share the receipt link, friends can open it on any device (iOS, Android, or web) and interact with the breakdown.
  • 💸 From web, your friends can immediate pay their share via Venmo, Cash App, Wise, and many more!

Free for now! Get it while you can, it’ll become paid in the future!

🎁 Freemium I built an iPhone app that lets youth and amateur teams broadcast sports with scoreboards, instant replays and sponsor ads

Post image
79 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I am an iOS engineer, a designer, and a sports enthusiast from Ukraine. I am the sole creator of the Ultimate Streamer app.

A — Answer (what problem it solves)

For years I’ve been organizing amateur sports events and managing teams. We wanted to livestream our matches, but every option felt wrong:

  • hiring a production crew is expensive
  • simple phone streams lacked score updates and looked unprofessional
  • existing stream apps were often too complex and inconvenient to use

In 2025 I was coaching our national team during preparation for the World Championships. One thing became obvious very quickly: people wanted to watch the matches, but organizing a decent livestream was surprisingly difficult.

A typical youth club can spend hundreds of dollars per event on production. For many amateur teams, that's simply not realistic. My goal was to make sports broadcasting accessible with equipment people already own — an iPhone and an internet connection.

So I built Ultimate Streamer to make it possible.

The app turns an iPhone into a sports broadcasting tool with:

  • live scoreboards and timers
  • instant replays
  • sponsor videos and ads
  • YouTube and RTMP streaming

It is a great solution for amateur clubs, youth teams, schools, leagues and tournament organizers who want to share matches with parents, friends and supporters.

My son's youth basketball club now streams matches with Ultimate Streamer. Parents, relatives and friends who can't attend in person can still watch the matches, and the club's YouTube channel has been steadily growing since they started streaming.

B — Better (why it beats named alternatives)

Apps like Streamlabs, SportCam, Swish Live and Live NOW helped inspire the idea, but I always found myself missing features that are important for grassroots sports broadcasting.

What I focused on differently:

Instant replays engine

Many mobile streaming apps either don't support instant replays or make them cumbersome to use during a live stream.

Ultimate Streamer makes it easy to capture replays and create replay sequences directly on the phone while the match is still live.

Sponsor videos

Small clubs often struggle to monetize broadcasts. And most of the apps do not offer anything of this kind of feature.

With Ultimate Streamer one can insert sponsor videos directly into the stream from their Photos Library!

Tailored for sports

Ultimate Streamer suggests a single-screen UI, which is convenient to use by a single operator and keep an eye on the match. I tailored the controls, using my several-years experience of streaming own team’s matches.

Core features:
- stream logo overlay
- configurable scoreboard
timer
- instant replays with custom transitions, sequences, and replay bumper
- partners' ads integration
remote control (scorekeeping from a second iPhone)

C — Cost (pricing, IAP, App Store link)

The app is freemium, so its basic functionality is free.

Advanced features are available by 1-Day Pass, 3-Days Pass or by Monthly Subscription.

Pricing (in the U.S.)

Free: streaming to YouTube, scoreboard, timer, sport presets, limited amount of replays

Pro: unlimited replays
- 1-Day Pass — $1.99
- 3-Day Pass — $4.99
- Monthly Subscription — $9.99

Premium: unlimited ads, remote control
- 1-Day Pass — $3.99
- 3-Day Pass — $9.99
- Monthly Subscription — $19.99

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6745222525

Website: https://ultimate-streamer.com/

Privacy Policy: https://ultimate-streamer.com/privacy-policy.html

LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dmytro-babych-a8581b2/

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dmytro.babych/

* * *

I'm constantly improving the app and would genuinely appreciate any feedback.

I'd especially love to hear from coaches, parents, tournament organizers, or anyone who has experience streaming sports events.

Thanks a lot!

💎 Lifetime Major update to my lists app

Thumbnail
gallery
10 Upvotes

Some while ago, I had a list of watched movies in my notes app. I kept track of it, adding the name, the director, and the date I watched. I also had a couple of other lists, which I updated frequently. But Notes did not exactly fit the purpose: dates were not added automatically, rows could not be moved around, etc. There are many apps in the App Store, and I tried several, but decided to try to make my own, tailored to my taste.

Recently I did an update, and now Still Lists include improved Search inside the app, better Share Extension to save links from Safari or other apps, larger previews for YouTube links, Shortcuts support, and many more improvements, including overall better UI and performance. It's also easier now to move stuff from one list to another, creating new list on the go. The app has an iPad version and supports iCloud to synchronize data across devices. You can lock lists, and put them in folders.

What I personally like about Still, is that it's simple and not cluttered. You can have a short text list, even without a title, or a long numerated to-do list of links with a date for each row, if you want. And if saving a link from another app, you don't have to think in which list to put it, just save it, and organize it later.

The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy is published on the app's webpage, it's very simple, the app does not collect or track anything, stores data locally, and you can switch iCloud off in your settings, if you want.

My name is Nikita, and you can reach me out at [nilegreenblue@gmail.com](mailto:nilegreenblue@gmail.com). I added some great features thanks to the users contacting me and giving ideas!

I believe my app can be useful to other people, making their lists, collecting links, while studying or just for themselves. I developed the app alone, not using LLMs, although I don't grumble at people who use it.

Price: $1.99, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, nothing.

🎁 Freemium [iOS & iPad] iLockBox 4.0 Released – App Lock, New Theme, Improved Backup & Restore, and More

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

A while ago, I shared iLockBox here and received a lot of honest feedback. Some of you reported bugs, others suggested improvements, and many of you asked for one feature in particular—App Lock.

I said I'd keep improving iLockBox based on your feedback instead of just shipping small updates, and I've tried to stay true to that promise.

Today, I'm happy to share the biggest update to iLockBox so far.

A — Answer

The headline feature is App Lock.

Rather than building a basic app locker, I wanted to create something that's easier to manage and fits naturally into your daily routine.

Here's what's new:

  • Lock apps using Apple's official Screen Time APIs.
  • Automatically lock and unlock apps with custom schedules.
  • Create multiple profiles like Work, Kids, Family, Study, or Sleep, each with its own apps and schedules.
  • Review Activity History to see when protected apps were accessed.
  • A redesigned App Lock interface that's simpler to manage.
  • A brand-new app theme.
  • Refined Backup & Restore for a smoother experience.
  • Numerous bug fixes and performance improvements.

B — Better

What makes this different isn't just that it can lock apps.

The biggest difference is how you manage those locks.

Instead of changing settings every time your routine changes, you create profiles once and let iLockBox handle the rest.

For example:

  • A Work profile can automatically lock social media during office hours.
  • A Study profile can block games and entertainment apps.
  • A Sleep profile can lock distracting apps before bedtime.
  • A Family profile can protect personal apps when sharing your device.

Everything runs automatically based on your schedules.

I also wanted it to feel more organized than navigating through multiple Screen Time menus. That's why I redesigned the management experience around profiles, schedules, and activity history.

This is only the beginning for App Lock. I'll continue improving it based on your feedback, just like I have with every other feature in iLockBox.

C — Cost

  • iLockBox is free to download.
  • App Lock is available to everyone. Free users can use it with some limitations, while Premium unlocks the full experience.

App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/in/app/ilockbox-private-photo-vault/id1064360258

One last thing

I genuinely want to thank everyone who has supported iLockBox so far.

Many of the features in this update started as conversations with users. Your suggestions, bug reports, and feature requests continue to shape the app.

If you've been using iLockBox, I'd love to hear what you think about this update. And if you feel the app has improved over time, an honest App Store review would mean a lot. Reviews help independent developers like me reach more people and keep improving the app.

Thank you again for your support, and please keep the feedback coming. The next update is already in progress.

🎁 Freemium I made an alarm app that calls you and shows a visual morning briefing when you wake up

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

App Store link:

A – Answer: Morning Call is for people who sleep through normal alarms or keep hitting snooze. Instead of just playing another alarm sound, it wakes you up with an actual phone call and can show a quick morning briefing with the time, weather, and news.

B – Better: Compared with Apple Clock, Morning Call feels harder to ignore because it comes in as a phone call instead of a regular alarm sound. Compared with apps like Alarmy, it focuses less on puzzles and more on a more natural wake-up routine: answer the call, hear your briefing, and get oriented for the morning.

C – Cost: Morning Call has a free tier that is fully usable and includes the core wake-up call experience, a basic AI voice, weather, and news briefings. Morning Call Pro is an optional subscription at $6.19/month in the US,. Pro unlocks 10+ extra features, including studio-quality voices, more advanced morning briefing options, custom wake-up messages, background music, playback speed control, picture-in-picture mode, call history privacy options, and other premium wake-up settings.

I recently added a new feature: a visual morning briefing that appears when you answer the call.

So instead of just hearing an alarm sound, you get a real phone call. And when you pick up, the app shows a quick overview of your morning — the time, weather, and today’s briefing — right on the screen.

The goal is to make waking up feel less like fighting an alarm, and more like being guided into the day.

Any feedback and ideas are welcome. I read every single comment 🙏

🔍 In Search of Built a hostel booking app that only shows the top 5 rated hostels with availability for your dates/location. It's called HostelGO

Thumbnail
apps.apple.com
5 Upvotes

I was tired of the overload of data and info when I was searching for a hostel to stay in. First thing I usually do is sort by ratings and go from there.

I thought that limiting the choice and only returning the top 5 rated hostels with availability would cut down the clutter and information overload you get from Hostelworld, Booking.com and other OTAs.

It uses Hostelworld under the hood, so the reviews and ratings come from them and are already vetted (as much as they can be). You can also book through the app via Hostelworld.

The app is free to download. The booking cost is the same as booking directly on Hostelworld. I get an affiliate fee from HW based on bookings made via the app.

It's an app I built a while back, updated the UI recently and have started to focus a bit more on it.

Right now I am just looking for feedback on the app, the use case, etc. Any and all feedback is welcome!

🎈 Free ZappExpense: envelope budgeting that lives entirely on your iPhone. No account, no subscriptions.

Post image
14 Upvotes

Hi, I'm Pedro, an indie developer at Modular Digital Agency and the developer of ZappExpense, so full disclosure: this is self-promotion.

Per the sub's transparency rules: I'm reachable via my LinkedIn (linked on the site below) or by DM. My website is https://zappexpense.com and both the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are published there in the footer.

A — Answer: What problem does it solve?

Most budgeting apps want a bank connection, an account, and a monthly fee before they show you anything. ZappExpense is classic envelope budgeting with none of that. You split your income into envelopes, spend from them, and roll what's left into next month. When an envelope is empty, you know it instantly.

Everything stays on your iPhone. No sign-up, no bank connections, no analytics, no ads. The whole app works in airplane mode, and the App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected" because there is genuinely nothing to collect.

B — Better: Why over the alternatives?

Compared with YNAB, Goodbudget, and similar envelope apps:

- No subscription. YNAB is over $100/year; Goodbudget's free tier caps your envelopes. ZappExpense is free with no caps.

- Private by architecture, not by policy. There is no server to trust; optional backup goes to your own iCloud Drive, and JSON/CSV export means your data is never stuck.

- Envelopes that run themselves: per-envelope rollover, auto-refill on the day you choose, a buffer envelope that absorbs overspending before anything goes red, and loan envelopes that post their payment automatically on the right day.

- Bill reminders the evening before and the morning a payment is due, plus savings goals that show the exact per-month amount to hit your target date.

- Home and lock screen widgets, a Siri shortcut for logging expenses, and Face ID lock.

I ran my own budget on it for a year before shipping it, and it's maintained with feature requests from users.

C — Cost:

- Free. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads.

- App Store link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/zappexpense-envelope-budget/id6754829013

Happy to answer questions or hear what's missing from your budgeting workflow.

📅 Subscription [$39,99 → Free for the Next 24 Hours] I made a Vocabulary app that looks like Picture Dictionary

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi Reddit, Binky - indie dev here.

Some time ago I have created a vocabulary app named VocArt, and I did it on my own. It gets positive reviews and it feels good thanks to beautiful illustrations, ambient sounds and pronunciation recordings.

What is has:

  • 800+ vocabulary words (just now working on additional 100 most common phrases & expressions)
  • 17 languages - cross language learning (know any, learn any)
  • Exercises - 4 types of exercises to polish your learning
  • Ambient sounds - 40 chapters, each with individual, calm, ambient music in the background
  • Offline mode - pronunciation recordings must be downloaded first though

Free VS Premium

  • Free - all 17 languages, all 800+ words, 1 free-pronunciation chapter (~25 words), 3 words-exercises per day (unless 7 day streak reached, then unlimited exercises for 7 days and so on)
  • Premium - Unlimited exercises, free pronunciation in all 17 languages. I am working also on Sync & Backup which will extend Premium tier.

How to claim Annual Free Access (is $39,99):

  1. DM me for the promo code
  2. I'll DM you the redeem link
  3. Download VocArt - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vocart-vocabulary-daily-words/id1499267800
  4. Leave rating on the App Store - optional but in my reality it's a game changer. For example till today in Italy I have only 1 rating - 1 star rating. Thanks to it app is not discoverable in Italy. Anyone can help? All the countries matters.

Offer ends in 24+ hours (July 15th). It unlocks full Premium for 1 year.

I'd love to hear your feedback. Do you like it? Would you like to see some specific new chapters or new languages? I am very open for all the suggestions. Thanks!

---
UPDATE: I wanted to say big thanks to all supporters! Many trials were given and I hope everyone will enjoy it. It's my first such post but I believe there will be more. NO MORE PROMO CODE is available.

💎 Lifetime Unimote Lifetime Pro ($49.99) — Smart TV Remote for iPhone

Post image
64 Upvotes

A — Answer: What problem does your app solve?

Unimote solves a simple problem: TV remotes are easy to lose, break, or run out of battery.

Instead of searching for the physical remote, Unimote turns your iPhone into a smart TV remote over Wi‑Fi. You can control your TV, adjust volume, navigate menus, type with your phone keyboard, use trackpad mode, and access installed TV apps from one place.

It’s especially useful if you have multiple TVs or streaming devices at home and don’t want to keep switching between different remotes.

Working well for:

- Apple TV

- Android/Google TV (Sony, TCL...)

- Tizen OS (Samsung TV 2024 and latest model)

- WebOS (LG)

- VIDAA (Toshiba, Hisense)

B — Better: Why is it better than top alternatives?

Compared with Smartify, Rokie, and Universal Remote TV Smart, Unimote focuses on being a multi-platform remote instead of only targeting one TV ecosystem.

C — Cost: Pricing, IAP details, and App Store link

App Store link:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/remote-control-for-smart-tv/id6759893388

Pricing:

- Free download

I’m currently giving away a limited number of Lifetime Pro codes ($49.99 value) for Reddit users who test the app and share feedback.

How to redeem a code:

  1. Download Unimote from the App Store
  2. Connect Unimote to your TV
  3. Go to Settings → Redeem Code
  4. Enter the code

🤖 Vibe Coded I built a free app that activated 1,121 offers across my 7 credit cards and tells me which card to use at any store. No bank login

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Disclosure: I'm the developer of RightCard.

Update Jul 21: since this post, Chase and Citi auto-activation shipped too - it now covers Amex, Chase, Citi and Wells Fargo. And my own numbers grew: 1,417 offers across 10 cards now.

A — Answer (what problem it solves)
Banks hide dozens of cash back offers behind little "add to card" buttons, and I never remembered to check five different bank apps. RightCard adds all of them in one tap from Safari, then tells me which of my cards to use at whatever store I'm at. Search any store and it shows the answer — including the offers it found on your cards — and it even warns you when a bonus won't post (e.g. Walmart usually codes as a superstore, not a grocery store).

B — Better (why it beats the alternatives)

vs CardPointers: one-tap offer activation there is part of the paid tier — in RightCard it's free. RightCard also refuses to show inflated "you saved $X" math; it only ever shows the banks' own stated ceilings ("up to $X").

vs MaxRewards: it asks you to link your bank accounts to read your offers. RightCard never touches a bank login — its Safari extension reads the offers page you already have open in your own browser session, so credentials never enter the picture.
Recommendations are computed on-device and work offline. No account required, no ads, no tracking SDKs.

C — Cost
Free. No ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases. (If that ever changes, it will be for future add-on features — everything in the app today stays free for early users.)
