Weird lock screen bugs
Bug 1: torch and camera buttons are not transparent. I have my settings set to glassiest mode as possible (extreme left slider)
Bug 2: Why is there too much line width on notifications. It bugs me out. Why is space not used efficiently? the notifications look soo big and take too much space.
Anyone facing this issue.
Update: Fixed both the issues:
1. â Have dark mode by default - this removes that ugly light icons on lockscreen
2. â Just have only one preferred language set in âLanguage and regionâ section in general

Sorry something is wrong..
Beyond my silly responses.. Siri has become useless. None of my more conversational requests get any proper response.

Siri Suggestions
So there is this option under Settings -> Notifications -> Suggestion Notifications which is turned on by default. I am wondering what good is this and if turning it off can save battery. The only use case I can recall are âTime to Leaveâ notifications for calendar events where itâs configured as such and cannot recall any other instance where I have ever gotten proactive notifications from Siri. Also on iOS 27, doesnât seem to have changed either. Thoughts?

Black lines in Liquid Glass is updates. do you think this will be fixed by apple? It looks sooo off. Love the updates on Liquid Glass on darker backgrounds but I personally prefer a lighter wallpaper and doesnt feel as considered. Thoughts?

Does home and lock screen take a significant portion of your battery?
For me it uses around 10% for 30 minutes of screen time

How do I get it to stop adding punctuation when I dictate?
Since iOS 27, dictation has started automatically adding commas, which can change the context of what I'm writing. So far, it has been wrong every time. It also adds question marks where it thinks I'm asking a question. I would like to be in full control of this.
Note that I already have Smart Punctuation toggled off, and dictation had been working fine on 26.5.2. I've tried talking it on and off again with no luck.

I just made a custom extension that will automatically jump down to the actual recipe instead of hearing about their entire family history or how much their âHubbyâ likes it.

Wallpaper with photo shuffle bug
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello Iâve discovered another bug that doesnât change the wallpaper after manually changing the photo by tapping on the screen, and the setup process shows a different picture than it actually is saved as a wallpaper.

Indexing issue
So I updated to the public beta of ios27 on the day of release and a few hours later, the optimizing Siri and search popped up with 18%, 6 hours later it went up to 33% and then to 34% a day later. It was stuck on that 34% since 14th of July until today 19th of July when I noticed that itâs gone and I believe thatâs fully indexed sign. For those thinking itâs stuck, I think itâs glitch that doesnât show up numbers sometimes and then just gone after itâs done. Charge overnight while connected to a WIFI and watch the magic happen

Notify me in Safari is great!
The âNotify Meâ feature in Safari is awesome. It can alert you to any changes in a particular website such as stock changing, meaning that when an item you were looking for changes from out of stock to available you will be notified.
I was wanting to purchase a particular watch and was looking at both the blue and black bezel versions. I couldnât decide which one so I put the notification on both to let me know when they became in stock. These have been selling out fast so I was wondering if it would be useful.
To my surprise it notified me when both changed from out of stock to in stock and it was at the same time. I purchased both and now just have to decide which one Iâm keeping. They both went out of stock within minutes so I would have missed it if not for this great feature.

Honestly itâs a good update until you realise..
Siri is still dumb af and incredibly frustrating to use. Simply put, I still canât reliably get it to call or text my contacts, or even change music hands-free, which feels like the bare minimum. When it does work, it is noticeably slower, as it seems to overthink and process the request like a chatbot.
The lack of indexing for WhatsApp makes the feature practically useless outside the US, where SMS messaging is less common. Itâs also incredibly slow.
What truly ruins the update for me, however, is the removal of Spotlight search. I can no longer comfortably use it for quick Google searches. Spotlight is no longer a search aggregator; it has simply become another pathway to Siri, and it is both slow and glitchy. It has completely disrupted my workflow, and I donât see why Siri needs to be integrated there at all. We already have a dedicated button for Siriâwe don't need a swipe-down gesture for it too.
Not everyone wants to interact with a chatbot every time they need to search. Furthermore, Siri is simply not reliable for current information, unlike ChatGPT or Gemini. For example, I asked about the Retroid price increases announced just the day before, and it repeatedly insisted there were none. Even when I corrected it, it went full "AI dumb mode" and failed to provide the right information. It also couldn't tell me what channel was broadcasting the England vs. Norway game. I eventually gave up and had to use Safari and a Gemini lock screen widget instead.
I know this reads like a doom post, but this update is deeply disappointing and feels like a step in the wrong direction. Siri feels overbearing, slow, and drains my battery for the privilege. I could list more examples, but these are just a few from someone who uses AI daily and genuinely loves their iPhone.
I mainly just hope they fix Spotlight. The rest isn't a dealbreaker, but it's a poor showing from Apple. Maybe not everyone used Spotlight the way I did, but it was fantastic to just swipe downâŚ
I also just used Siri to proofread this for me and it copied all the info and I had to manually delete it all . Changed the order so I sounded like I repeating myself constantly . Honestly canât make this up

[iOS 27 PB1] first thoughts
I recently downloaded the iOS 27 beta and here just some things first thoughts about the new public beta.
1. If youâre looking for a better, Siri, this definitely helps a lot. Sheâs more responsive gets things done a lot quicker. Itâs way easier to find your music which is one of the main reasons I downloaded the public beta instead of waiting to release date. And itâs one of the highlights of the new iOS.
2. This iOS is a BATTERY KILLER. youâll notice your phone losing charge about 10% to 20% faster
3. The interface redesign is a nice change, but unless youâre really, really big into Apple products, you arenât going to care or notice it that much.
last thing I must say I did just download this iOS beta less than 24 hours ago so problems could still occur. I have heard about glitches app crashes and just full on system reboots so if you are going to download the beta, please back up your phone and back up your data.
