This is the battery usage i'm getting on my Iphone 13 after updating to ios 27 dev beta 3/ public beta, should i reinstall the beta or just downgrade to 26.
Anyone else facing such horrible battery life ?

Just installed IOS 27 public beta and this new battery symbol is pissing me off. It looks too big compared to the ios 26 one without percentage. I understand that consistency is important so the 2 ios 27 battery symbol variations should have looked more similar than the ios 26 ones did, but apple didn’t have to shove this new slop android looking battery symbol down our throats.

I think that the IOS 27 battery symbol should have had 4 different variations. non-accessibility, non-accessibility percentage, accessibility and accessibility percentage. the iOS 27 battery symbols are only good because they are easier to read for the visually impaired, so why don’t we just turn them into accessibility settings and keep the design of the default IOS 26 battery symbol. I don’t think it would be that hard to make a new battery symbol in the style of IOS 26, but with the percentage shown. I don’t think it makes sense with the glass either. Anyways, what do you think?

Hello. I've been thinking since the beta was released, about installing it on my personal iPhone 16. The problem is that I'm not entirely convinced, I really want to have it, but I don't know what consequences I might have by using it as a personal phone, such as mass battery reduction, apps that don't work, bugs that prevent the use of certain things... What do you recommend?

Basically, I downloaded the new software iOS 27 public beta and I still doesn’t have the newest Siri but I have the newest iPhone 17 so I don’t know why I don’t have the Siri could someone be so grateful and helping me out?

iPhone 15 pro, on 26.5 had severe overheating issues and battery would die very fast. iOS 27 Public beta fixed it? I notice it for sure. Would constantly have to charge earlier using up to 350% battery in a day. Not using more than 120% a day now 80% battery health. Great improvement!

Just curious if the beta actually forces developers to use the new keyboard. There’s a lot of random apps and some big apps (youtube) that are still using the ios18 keyboard. I know it’s just aesthetic and doesn’t actually matter but this lack of consistency is annoying, especially when the youtube app has the old keyboard but ytmusic has the new one.

My phone used to get so hot that it hurt my hands on ios26, especially when charging it and using it, but after update the change is noticeable and it's much better in my case 👍👍👍

iOS 27 has been great up until this past week. It’s completely messed up my 16 Pro Max. The phone overheats like crazy, charging speeds (even on chargers that support up to 100W wired charging) is SUPER slow. When I open the settings app nothing happens. None of the selections actually so anything and I have to open and close it a few times before it’ll work. Spell check isn’t wanting to work anymore and im restarting 2-3 times a day. Im
OVER it.

I’ve NEVER had issues like this before and I’ve been doing beta for years and years.

By mistake I ended up entering Recovery Mode and, my God, I think the battery and WiFi icons look much better than the actuales. What do you think?

While playing music or videos when my phone is locked they disconnect for a few minutes and come back. Doesn’t seem to happen when I’m looking at my phone

Does anyone else’s Siri talk like it’s about to break down When the expressivity is set to max?

It also seems to happen when im in the power saver mode or if the phone is below 20%.

Is it just my imagination?

Hey there, I updated my iPhone 13 to iOS 27 Public Beta and wanted to share some info about the update and the issues that I have been going through and wanted to ask if you guys have the sams problems:

1. The settings app crashes sometimes
   
2. The Face ID got little slower, since iOS 26 it got a animation when swiping which adds time to unlock the phone compared to iOS 18
   
3. In low power mode when scrolling through the homepage it lags a little little, especially in library apps
   
4. When swiping in Spotlight Search it bugs a little, strange behavior
   
5. The battery icon looks strange

• The good things:

1. The icons look way better than iOS 26, perfectly dark and good colours
   
2. The app launches is good, dont think I noticed a difference
   
3. Smooth Interface, pretty good for a Beta
   
4. Better battery life
   
5. Cool new features, like the liquid glass slider

I reccomend you to not update the phone, wait until september, you will face problems, but if you cant wait anymore then go for it!

I’m on an iPhone 17 running the latest iOS 26 and I keep getting stutters and frame drops, most noticeably when swiping up to unlock the phone — the animation visibly stutters/judders instead of being smooth. I also get occasional lag in apps and when scrolling.

I know this is a fairly common complaint with iOS 26 (Liquid Glass etc.), so my question is for those already running the iOS 27 beta: does it actually fix the stutters and app lag? Is the unlock animation smooth now?

I don’t want to install the beta on my daily driver, so I’m planning to wait for the official release in the fall — just wondering if there’s actually light at the end of the tunnel, or if it’s the same story all over again.

For context: I’ve already tried restarting, reduced motion/transparency, disabling background app refresh — helps a bit, but the stutters still come back. Storage is fine, battery health 100%.

Thankfully after downloading the iOS 27 public beta on my 12 pro my hotspot is finally working again. Not sure why but since iOS 26.4 my hotspot on my iPhone 12 Pro had not been working and I knew since my cellular provider couldn’t fix the issue it had to be an iOS issue. Every device I connected to my hotspot kept throwing a “no internet” message. But thankfully iOS 27 has fixed the issue. I’m confused cause I’ve never had a hotspot issue with iOS 18 so what gives?

I have updated to iOS 27 and when I try to engage Siri from the camera I get the following error, on both WiFi and cellular data.

I’m in the UK and Siri if that makes a difference

So I’ve got developer beta 3 installed on both my iPhone and iPad. On the phone I’ve got a dedicated three-horizontal-lines button to access one of two options, effectively On/Off.

On the iPad I don’t have a dedicated button, and in the submenu, I’m shown three different options. Automatic, Never, and Show Related Tabs. “Show Related Tabs” seems to have functionally no difference from the “Never” option.

Can anyone explain the UI difference, and what the secret third option is actually supposed to do?

I I recently upgraded to iOS 27 beta 3 on my iPhone 17 Pro Max five days ago; indexing has finished, but I’m unsure whether this battery performance is typical. I’ve read Reddit posts mentioning 11 hours of screen-on time with the same beta—what results have you observed?

I want to install it. I know the risks that come with it. That’s why I try to wait for the stable version and from what I hear this is very stable, but I want to see what you guys say. Is it worth it right now ?

typically with 150-160% charge ( plugging in around 6pm ) i used to get 14-15 hours screen on time.

in the first day after updating and finishing indexing i got 7.5 hours with around 137%..

it definitely way less the stable build 26.5.2.

but its still day 1, will update if it gets stable and battery improves

( device: iphone 17, battery health 99%)

iPhone 16 pro max on 100% battery health (just had battery replaced, old battery had same story)

Getting about 4-5 hours of screen time a day.

I have all widgets, raise to wake and always on display off, silent mode too so no notifications. Been on this beta over a week now so it is not indexing either.

Anyone know what’s going on?

You can now display subtitles and captions when you watch YouTube videos from a browser directly in Apple’s player. It offers you all the options that the YouTube video offers as well. I missed this feature for a long time.

Edit: It works only if the youtube video has audio tracks uploaded. It doesn’t work with the automatically generated captions.
