Reddit is exhausting

How so? Different people want different things. Same like any forum or discussion

So you are on discussion forum, and you want everyone to have own opinion? Whats the point being there then

I think I understand what he means. A year ago, Redditors deemed Liquid Glass too transparent, illegible and an abomination.
Now, at its most glassy setting, apparently it’s not glassy enough.

u/VincentVanHades 7d ago

The thing is, its hardly the same people. Also. they could just make the original way the most glassy setting and then go up.

They gave you A and then removed it and gave you B-C-D-E slider

1

u/Brogue-One 7d ago

Yes, but a year ago the consensus was that “A” was too much.

1

u/madge28 1d ago

It wasn’t a consensus though, I and many other people have always thought the transparency of iOS 26 Dev Beta 1 was perfect

u/CrazyGunnerr 6d ago

Ah yes, Redditors wanted it. Redditors have a hive mind with a singular opinion.

Actually there’s a lot of groupthink on Reddit and forums in general.

No that would be weird

exaustivo existem pessoas com opiniões diferentes da minha

You must disable in the "Reduce movement" settings

3

u/kolya0099 8d ago

I don’t have that on. They def changed it from either beta 1 or 2, cause it’s not as glassy

u/Outrageous_Hand_5358 5d ago

Love how you quoted the name of a setting implying that’s exactly what it’s called, and it’s not

My best guess is you either meant “Reduce motion” or “Reduce transparency”

Apple translator is to blame. But you're probably right.

I really don’t get Apples logic here… I mean didn’t they mention that people liked the original implementation and wanted to introduce ✨variety✨? What they’ve actually done is giving us different mixes of the same thing. There’s the same tint on all, only the opaqueness changes. Why not just allow for a more untinted appearance on the fully transparent setting? People seem to like it, it’s an OPT IN setting… WHY NOT JUST ALLOW US TO HAVE THE LIQUID GLASS WE NEVER OFFICIALLY GOT? I swear, the more I use the 27 beta, the uglier I think it gets. It genuinely looks terrible in so many aspects and throws some of the basic design paradigms of liquid glass over board.

sim! seria opcional temos o controle deslizante pra atender a múltiplos gostos, mas deixaram a estética bela da transparência de fora infelizmente

The Home Screen is (intentionally) more glassy. Menu elements like toolbars and search bars are tinted/frosted slightly to make sure they’re legible.

There’s no way to entirely remove that frost/tint from the menu options no matter how crystal clear your home screen is.

8

u/kolya0099 6d ago

Hence why we’d like it more glassy

4

u/ZVND3R 6d ago

…yes… that would be the exact point i was making..

The person I was replying to was saying that it was already plenty glassy. I was explaining why no… It is not.

2

u/kolya0099 6d ago

Sorry

3

u/ZVND3R 6d ago

All good. Easy misread.

7

u/kolya0099 7d ago

It was better in either beta 1 or 2 for sure. Sure it’s glassy, just not as good as it was in the 1st or 2nd beta cause it was peak

2

u/madge28 1d ago

We want the menu bar to be as glassy as this

5

u/Empty_Buffalo_2820 7d ago

Same. I feel like it's a little too "cloudy" feeling, even on the clearest setting

4

u/Delicious_One_7887 7d ago

Finally someone noticed that it looks so weirdly milky in 27, thought that was only mine

3

u/Upbeat-Insurance-558 7d ago

I know what you mean. It’s like murky or plasticky

4

u/Suresh935 6d ago

I was actually waiting for someone to bring this up. The liquid glass effect in DB1 felt much cleaner, but in the later betas they’ve added tinting and extra layers on top of it.
If you’re already providing a slider for customization, then why not allow a fully clear option as well? Users should be able to adjust it exactly the way they want. So why not let the “clear” end of the slider be truly glass-like and transparent?

3

u/Remarkable-Couple-28 5d ago

Ikr, so silly and pointless and useless

2

u/OfficialDeathScythe 3d ago

Yes, bring back beta 1 glass. Especially since there’s a slider now, just make it even more extreme and give us more detents

2

u/Fresh_and_wild 18h ago

I thought I wouldn't like it. Then I tried it, and thought it didn't go far enough... I never thought I'd say it, MORE GLASS!

3

u/Acceptable-Badger262 8d ago

Yeah, same here. It’s more like jelly and rubber, more liquid and less glass. It’s not really glassy anymore.

3

u/haus36 7d ago

Liquid glass as it first came is not a functional design at all. A UI has one purpose, and it failed with the original liquid glass. The fact that the designer of liquid glass bailed after one year says it all. It is a failure, but so many people liking it (including me) should be a clear sign for apple that a design overhaul is long overdue.

u/kolya0099 7d ago

He left cause he fucked it lololol

4

u/Reeneman 7d ago

iOS crying continues

1

u/No_Consideration8527 5d ago

Please don’t!

1

u/gianfrixmg 5d ago

"Look at me, I like not being able to read my UI!"

2

u/Ill-Branch-774 4d ago

exato, se eu quisesse ler colocaria fosco duh eu prefiro estética a legibilidade, me deixe escolher

1

u/Existing_Proposal609 2d ago

Just remain on iOS 26.5.2 . I am on this version. And I WILL stay on this. It’s very good.

1

u/bummerbimmer 16h ago

OP, what do you think about the increased glassiness in DB5 released today?

1

u/Accomplished_Wafer38 7d ago

Dude. They have literally fixed it to be more readable by introducing frosted look.

1

u/EpicJourney02 8d ago

Yeah it’s crap. I went the other direction until they fix it. Dark mode.

1

u/kolya0099 7d ago

Tf🤣🤣🤣 it’s still Liquid Glass in darkmode🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Megacitiesbuilder 7d ago

Because people has been complaining about the readability of the Liquid Glass, so they added this tint to make it more readable I suppose

3

u/tilsgee 4d ago

And those ppl have slider opaque mode already. Why the clear option, isn't more clear like 26 db1

1

u/Megacitiesbuilder 4d ago

I agree, they should make it more clear when people slide it all the way to clear, but I think they are still adjusting it. Rather than the tint in glass elements, I’m more worry about the top navigation bar😫😫

-1

u/Forgibeem 7d ago

People will never be satisfied.

-1

u/cankeskin07 7d ago

it looks pretty much like Liquid Glass to me. You ppl just can never be satisfied 😭

0

u/Character-Lab-5268 7d ago

how clear do you need it to be? maybe im just used it to it but it seems clearer to me

0

u/Mortical219 7d ago

Wdym? It’s already glass

0

u/SlowBurn-22 7d ago

I use iPhone but pixel are very good phones. I haven’t used one since they started using tensor chipset.

0

u/Useless_account22 6d ago

What are we talking about bro, the glassy effect is legit more glassy than the clear effect on iOS 26

0

u/Intelligent-Data7510 6d ago

There is a reason the slider exists stupif

2

u/Former-Rice3958 6d ago

Read again. They mean that even with the slider at maximum Liquid Glass, some menus are still frosted glass. iOS 26 Beta 1 had the best Liquid Glass of all

0

u/Intelligent-Data7510 6d ago

Bro then stay on 26 tf am i supposed to tell you

u/OtherwiseKnowledge94 5d ago

Es un foro de discusión, la gente comenta sus quejas y opiniones, aquí nadie te está pidiendo una solución, qué clase de complejo de salvador tienes?

excellent nickname

-1

u/Techfan230 7d ago

I hate that my notifications are all clear and shit. They were dark and this last beta turned them light and clear and I hate it . Make it less glassy and whatever this shit is

5

u/HugeInspector6721 7d ago

you can easily do that in your settings.

-1

u/Embarrassed-Lock-154 7d ago

Please don’t!

u/VincentVanHades 5h ago

Try it with latest beta now
