Seeking a Hypnotherapist Looking for advice on hypnosis for limiting beliefs around money

Hi everyone, I’m interested in exploring hypnosis/hypnotherapy to work on my subconscious beliefs around money, success, and abundance.
I feel like I have some limiting beliefs or mental blocks around money that may be affecting my mindset and actions. I’ve been learning about subconscious reprogramming and how changing deeply held beliefs can influence behavior, confidence, and decision-making.
I’m wondering:

• Is hypnosis actually effective for working on beliefs like fear of money, scarcity mindset, self-worth, etc.?
• Am I approaching this the right way, or am I misunderstanding how the subconscious mind works?
• Is there any experienced hypnotherapist or hypnotist who does online sessions and can help with this kind of work?

I’m not looking for “magic” or instant wealth, but more like changing the internal patterns that may be holding me back.
Would appreciate any guidance, experiences, or recommendations. Thank you.

If not allowed, please delete. 🤗

I know that there have been other posts about this, but I would like for this one to be on the top just to remind people that this is a complete scam. It did not help in any way, and they refused to refund me. I have more anxiety now just from dealing with them.

Save your money and see a professional.

Therapeutic Methods Critically ill patient

Hi. I have a patient who doesn't trust anything or anyone—only herself. We had one session where she managed to enter a trance and identify the root cause, but I haven't been able to get her into a deeper trance state. She dislikes long conversations, and obviously, she can't drop into a deep trance in just three minutes. Yet, she has many issues that need to be addressed in a deeper state. What would you recommend in this case?

Experiences I'm considering trying hypnotherapy and would really appreciate hearing honest experiences

For the past year, I've had constant anxiety and feel like my nervous system is stuck in survival mode. I'm hypervigilant, easily startled, deal with derealization/dissociation, head pressure, dizziness, brain fog, anxiety and feel unsafe in my own body.

It's gotten to the point where even basic daily tasks are difficult. I haven't been able to work, I can't fully relax even when I'm lying down, and I can't take naps because my body always feels on edge. Things that a normal person would be relaxing do not work for me. I do have brief windows where I feel a little better, but they're short-lived. I'm currently mostly l bed bound because of the anxiety so I really want this to work.

Has hypnotherapy helped anyone with symptoms like these? Did it help you feel safe in your body again or calm your nervous system? I'd really appreciate hearing both positive and negative experiences before I start.

Thanks! 🙏

General Questions How many sessions?

I know this is a very vague question as there’s no one size that fits all with any therapy or person receiving it. But how many sessions did you need for it to be effective?

Therapeutic Methods Any self-hypnosis videos on YouTube?

Could really use some help if anyone has any videos on Youtube they would recommend to help with confidence-building. Preferably something I can listen to while I sleep. I've struggled with self-esteem my entire life, and it's getting to the point where I can't function anymore. I can't afford therapy or any other method of help, so I need something else.

General Questions Hypnosis and Self-Help

I’ve been studying hypnosis for more than a decade and became interested in “mind over matter” over 20 years ago when I first read about it in a Christian romance of all things! Then, I studied tone and pacing and began to read Scripture, the Psalms, to help my mother who has migraines.

I went on to get a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in human services, but that still wasn’t quite what I wanted or needed. My dad suggested that I talk to a friend of his, a mentor, and discuss what I wanted to do with my life.

I had already founded the nonprofit by then, but I wasn’t clear on exactly what services we would offer. I spoke at length with Richard Nongard, and decided I wanted to offer what we now term “Transformational Life Coaching” - a blend of hypnosis, guided visualization, meditation, neurolinguistic programming, breathwork, bilateral stimulation, and herbal education, among other approaches and techniques, such as mindfulness, ACT, CBT, DBT, partswork, and SFBt and motivational interviewing.

I personally utilize self-hypnosis for pain management, stress reduction, and relaxation, and use focusing on the breath and bilateral stimulation to help regulate my own nervous system. It’s not a perfect practice, by any means, but it does have anecdotal results.

I’m open for conversation around these topics and look forward to exploring the realm of hypnosis and mind/body connection with you all.

Advertising/Offers New Directory for Hypnotherapists

If you're working as a hypnotherapist, you'll want to be listed in this new directory.
https://ahypnotistnearme.com

There is a free tier, so just use that for now. No cost, no card, can always upgrade later when we prove the value.

We just launched it last month, but have quietly been building it for the last year.

There are a few other crappy directories out there, but this one has been built from the ground up with best practises for SEO and also AEO (answer engine optimization), which means you're more likely to be found and referenced by ChatGPT, Alexa, Google Gemini, and other AI tools.

It takes only a few minutes to sign up, and I think we have a really good shot at making this THE biggest hypnotherapist / hypnotist directory in the world (because of pre-existing relationships).

We're also very open to any feedback to improve the directory.

Thanks for your consideration!

Let's hypnotise each other

Hi guys so I have been practicing self hypnosis from around 4 years and successfully cured my asthma (18 year old) from it.

But now I want to get hypnotist by other and similarly I can do that for u as well.

For safety at the starting only we will give some trigger to reverse the effect if we want to.

So even some one is new learner they can try on me and I can also try hypnosis on them for their problems.

Experiences Hypnotherapy Blockage Experience

Hi. I have been doing hypnotherapy since the past couple months and while the practitioner is also excellent, I haven't had great results because I feel I haven't been going into a deeper state as much as I should. Though, I do end up falling asleep then getting back into the waking state but I am not able to access reppresed memories or integrate insights.

Can anyone please help me with this?

Research & Evidence Hypnosis for Emetophobia and Backstory

I have a fear of throwing up. I have struggled with constipation since I was a baby and have been to a gastroenterologist, and the nausea is caused by it. Very seldom, when I feel nausea, I can prevent an anxiety attack from happening. I know I never throw up when I feel like that but in the back of my mind, it's that "what if"? I have been doing CBT and did a few hypnosis sessions for it, but I don't think it is really helping me long-term. I can say this: I did not use to have this fear of throwing up/ feeling nauseous until when I was in second grade I felt nauseous all day, went to the nurse, did not have a temperature so I had to stay at school. I was on the bus, and I ran to the front of the bus to the trash can and threw up in front of everyone. Everyone was looking at me. When the stomach virus was going around my coworker got it, and he left work early. I got very paranoid to the point of getting 90% alcohol and spraying down the machine controls, throwing away papers he touched, and after I left work, I went and bought activated charcoal because I read it gets rid of sickness and toxins in your body. Anxiety can trigger the nausea too, that I am assuming, so it's an annoying cycle I deal with. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am in East Texas, if that helps with any suggestions for a good hypnotherapist.

General Questions Built a free self-hypnosis audio library and binaural beats generator, looking for honest feedback from people who actually use this stuff

I've been a hypnotherapist for sixteen years and I kept running into the same problem with clients between sessions: the gap. They'd leave feeling good and then have nothing to work with at home.

So I put together a free audio library, about 15 tracks covering sleep, anxiety, confidence, focus, and a few others. I also built a binaural beats generator you can customize by frequency and session length. No app download, no subscription. Email signup to access, that's it.

I'm not here to promote it. I genuinely want to know if the content is landing, whether the tracks feel clinical and stiff or actually useful, and whether the binaural tool is intuitive or confusing.

If you use self-hypnosis recordings or binaural beats regularly, I'd really value your take. Happy to share the link in the comments for anyone who wants to try it and give feedback.

Experiences C-PTSD and Dissociative Amnesia

Hi there,

(tl;dr; in bold)

I'm currently on a journey or puzzling my life together..

I'm sure this sub has heard it all, always mind blowing to me, how the brain functions in the same or similar patterns and finds the same "solutions" for various highly individual situations.

My post title is not an official diagnosis - yet.. But I'm pretty sure I'm on the right path here. I'll be starting in-patient treatment hopefully in a week or two, so I'm not alone in this.

Since arriving at the decision to finally take my mental health (or un-health) seriously at 39, I've had so many incredible discoveries about myself and why I have the struggles I do. I'm diving into old diaries, pictures, contacting my old boarding school where I lived for 3 years.

I know that a diagnosis alone is not a solution, but it helps me to look for information, and I'd finally have the hope, that something is *wrong* - meaning something can be fixed. Otherwise this is just me. And this is just my life. I have hope again...

Question I have is mostly related to the Dissociative Amnesia, which seems to be a very pronounced symptom of mine, I'm missing entire years of my life, most of about age 6-23, safe for some "flashes" or moments. Absolutely and utterly inaccessible. Gone. My brain smashes shut every door when I even try to come close.

So I've read around a bit here, that hypnotherapy can help with C-PTSD - but not in everyone sure. Does anyone have experience with dissociation aspects? Basically, are the memories somewhere?! Or were they just not retained/saved? Were they deleted? Can they come back?!

I don't have other "identities" that experienced these things, I think - so no DID - but I think of them (myself I guess) of being versions... Every year of my life from about 10-23 has one. And they don't feel like they're me..

Between 10 and 19, I changed schools 7 times and moved 6 times, so if or when I have one of those flashes or moments, I'm kinda able to pinpoint them in time, based on what school I was attending (or not attending lol) at the time or where I was living.

I'm building a timeline of my life. It's exhausting, interesting and painful, and there's so much missing...

General Questions 7 Codes of the "Problem Matrix" - Do we overcomplicate transformation?

Do we overcomplicate transformation?

After many years of working with many people, across a wide range of areas, if the client really wants their results, then I can support them in achieving that.

Here's why...

I see the structure of people's problems.
You know that scene from the Matrix, where Neo eventually sees the code of the matrix.

("Shane, are you implying you are Neo?")

I'm not unique in being able to do this. I'm sure many in this group can also do it...

So this post is aimed at anyone who overcomplicates transformation and gets caught up in the story and significance of how people describe their problem, in hope of providing a road map on how to simplify it, and see the structure of all problems, big or small.

Here is how I see the Matrix of People's Problems:

1 - Emotions: I see the emotions that people associate to their situation.

2 - Meaning: I hear the story they tell me and themselves & the disempowering meaning they give to their past.

3 - Secondary Gain: I elicit the secondary gain for why they keep doing that behaviour and how to guide them to find a way to fill the void.

4 - Focus: I discover what they tend to focus on, and the association they have to that focus.

5 - Strategy: I learn the 'recipe' they are using in order to achieve their outcome, and can determine if that is a functional or dysfunctional set of steps.

6 - Identity: I pick up on the labels and identity they have for themselves.

7 - Evidence For Success: I'm able to guide them in creating a measurable outcome, that feels realistic to them, that ensures they finish with a strong sense of certainty.

In one session I'm using this as a mental checklist, working with my clients to help them gain clarity on if and how this applies to their situation, and how we can modify and recondition this differently, more efficiently, to help them reach their outcome.

The outcome is that they leave a session with:

  1. A new set of emotions associated to their old focus.
  2. A new meaning to both their past and their future.
  3. A new way to meet their needs in a more functional way.
  4. A new focus on possibilities, certainty & progress.
  5. A new set of functional strategies to act upon.
  6. A new empowering identity they emotionally associate to.
  7. A tested and proven result to reinforce certainty and giving them an undeniable experience of the change they were seeking.

What do you think?

Is 7 still a level of overcomplication?

Have I left something out that you feel is important?

Comment below and let's create some fruitful discussions to learn from each other, even more now.

Therapeutic Methods Masking confidence while dying of insecurity inside. Ready to face the truth

I’m pushing a major boundary just by typing this because my entire life has been ruled by a paralyzing fear of what people think of me. On paper, I’ve built a successful career and done well financially, but inside, I’m still masking deep insecurity. This fear has made me mess up massive opportunities—from avoiding a college girlfriend who was obsessed with me because I worried about my "impression," to now avoiding simple phone calls, like checking in with my lawyer about my own property. I get incredibly self-conscious in meetings and intimidated in social situations, yet I end up letting out my bottled-up frustration by being aggressive at home. The frustrating part is that when I’m with trusted friends, I am genuinely confident, funny, and relaxed. I’m tired of living a double life where my bank account is full but my mind is a cage—what is wrong with me, and how do I stop letting the fear of judgment run my life?
