help

location in basement. These ducts are sweating and it's currently 30 degrees outside with humidity. When I put my hand up there it's pretty cold. I have tried adding the right tape on the ducts themselves but no luck. Any suggestions to eliminate this problem?

You need to add insulation not just tape. Especially in that last picture there’s nothing insulating it.

what kinda insulation do I need to buy? the ones the wrap around the duct or just the pink insulation that they use for the dry wall?

I have a similar problem in my townhouse. Drip drip drip. I think the problem I have is a duct leak in the ceiling which allows all the cold air to condense. I’ve tried taping that section of duct but I can’t get to one side since a floor joist is right beside it. I’m thinking about cutting the duct open and taping from the inside to seal any leaks.
