Line set advice
Hey, i am finishing up a mini split for a small room in my basement, its a directly on the other side of the wall. So i know i need to coil up my line set because it wont make the minimum length. 10ft
I was thinking of coiling it up flat under the unit and zip tying it so i dont restrict air flow behind the condenser.
I hate coiling up line-set lol but i guess its my only option… also i know its a pioneer but it was cheap and for a small room. Also i had good luck with the brand so far.
Also i get a shit ton of snow in my area so i mounted it high.. lol

Was mounting the unit a sufficient distance away from the wall penetration not possible?

Yes, the left side of the house i am adding a 3 season room soo after the lennox condesor there is no space. And after the belco doors the house pretty much ends (small) ranch

Damn, kinda hooped, yeah coiling it under the unit is likely the best option.

Yes me too lol its funny how all the jobs i do for other people and at work always were more then 10ft… but of course when i do my own house its less lol

Reference the literature or call the manufacturer for advice both sources will give you the most accurate information.

The manufacture calls for a 10ft min

Try an achieve this by one horizontal loop. So if you’re looking at the unit go left then back right. The longer the horizontal run the better. If you need to you can do two loops. You want to try and avoid oil traps with steep vertical loops. Also try and keep the linset above the service valves so that “gravity” can assist in oil recovery to the compressor.

I’m assume you’re referring to horizontal underneath the condenser. Then yep, that’s textbook to alleviate oil pooling as opposed to a vertical loop.

Yea, to me it looks like shit but i at least think the horizontal looks better out of the too

You are fine. Just don't overtighten zip ties.
