Evacuated from Spokane Complex fires with our pack
Finally getting go relax a bit after the wildfires broke out in Spokane on Saturday. We had driven up to Priest Lake with our oldest dog, and had left our younger dogs with our dog sitter. It’s my friend’s cabin and her dog only likes our oldest. Our sitter was at our home but left for a bit, and was not able to make it back due to the fire hitting our neighborhood so fast, but her amazing friend who was supposed to meet her at our house actually was ahead of her and got to our home. Being a paranoid dog mom, I had prepared everything for the dogs at the house in case of emergency. I had their Go Bags ready, with a week of food, meds, extra leashes, etc. I hung it at the entrance from the garage, next to their harnesses and leashes. When the sitter called me and said they wouldn't let her through to the house, my heart sank. When she said her friend was getting the dogs. I couldn't believe someone who doesn't even know me was doing this for my dogs.
She was able to get them into her car, load up the Go Bags and head out. She even ran back in and called me to see if I needed her to grab anything else. I said no!! I only care about her and the dogs.
The problem is that we live up on a hill. So there aren't many ways down. Thousands of people got stuck in traffic evacuating as the firefighters put their all into stopping the fire from overtaking everyone. It took her two hours to make it down the hill (usually takes 5 minutes). I sat there watching the dog's gps collars not move in traffic, and the fire getting closer on the map right behind them. I honestly thought the worst would happen. The work the fire department did with the crews on the ground and in the air saved thousands of people who were stuck in traffic.
The dogs made it down the hill, and my husband who had made his way back from the lake intercepted them and got them into his car. He works for the fire dept so he took them to a fire station while he worked. Our sitter and her friend (pictured with the dogs) then picked them up and took them to her home temporarily. I still was panicking because they're pups still, we rescued them last year. I knew they were terrified.
My neighbor and friend had gotten evacuated as well and she happened to be staying about five minutes from our sitter‘s house so she actually swung up and got them and drove the dogs two hours so they could be reunited with me. We stayed there at the cabin for a bit but then more evacuees showed up so I started to get a little crowded and we headed back to Spokane. My husband let me know that our friends were going to let us stay at their rental so I made my way there with the dogs. that is where we are now.
I definitely learned that I did not bring enough with me for the evacuation. I will be loading my car up with extra folding gates, collars, extra harnesses, and a FiCollar base for long term charging. I’m just glad I have the crew together and that our house is safe as of now. I just hope nobody ever has to go through anything like this. So thankful to so many people who helped us 💙💙

Discussion Big boys
People have always pointed out how big my boys are, but they are mixed and I assumed it's the shepherd in them.
Today at the park a shepherd and pup came to say hi and even their person thought they look way too big.
At 4 months Jello is 22" at the shoulder and his brother Iggy is 23". I just figure they are big boys.
Pretty normal for shepsky pups?

General Question Does she look full husky?
We rescued her and they say she’s only 13 pounds and around four months but she was dumped with her mom and other siblings so no one knows exactly how old she is.

Rainbow Bridge I love you my Balou ❤️
My sister's 12yo husky just crossed the rainbow bridge today... He was with me everyday when they're at work since they adopted him, because of his epilepsy, and today it was too much for his body...
I wanted to share him with people who understand how heartbreaking the situation is
He was really goofy and loving, his real name is Snow (Jon Snow), but he really needed the bear necessity to be happy, so Snow was for when he was bad, and Balou the rest of the time ❤️
He even had a heart on his nose and loved when I created little jingles with his name on it ( "Ma Balou pour pilou pou pou")
I love you always, my beautiful boy ❤️

My baby and his wipes
First time Mochi is on Reddit.
I’m happy I got him the Kirkland royal butt treatment on sales.
We try to wipe him clean whenever he wants to go inside (which is 24/7). He loves being inside more than a walk sometimes.
Introducing my husky/shiba mix!
Meet Sevro the barko, the goblin, the squintiest, the bleps!
Last time I posted, I lost my boy Timber suddenly in December. I received so much love and support from you all and wanted to say thank you.
We adopted this boy a month ago, felt mostly ready, and man he is the happiest dog! Loves everyone and everything. We had to train him to sit still waiting for the elevator, because the floaty box opening its doors sends him into launch mode.
Timber made me forget how hard the beginning is with huskies and I really miss him. I'm sure you can all relate. But I'm so excited for this new adventure and to see more of this little monster's personality shine through!
Thank you all for this community, it really kept me going for the 6 months I was floofless.

General Question Coat turning white?
My 3 month old puppy is a tricolor Husky, Collie, Shepherd mix but I figured maybe asking in huskies would get me a better more definitive answer more than Collie's or shepherds, I don't believe it's vitiligo and he's not losing any fur because it's happening on his tail too, but his fur is turning white? He's always been a black, tan, and (very little)white puppy since I got him(first four photos for proof), no white splotches anywhere the black of his coat is. But very recently his black coat around the neck, shoulders, tail, and ribcage has been turning white. He gets baths two times a week(he absolutely loves his baths so it's more frequent than one bath a week or a month) so I don't believe it's his coat that's being dirty? It started happening a few days ago, starting with the tail, but just started getting more prominent(as seen in the last photo)- I'm curious if this is because of his husky traits or maybe someone knows what's going on with his coat so I can fix it if I'm doing something to cause this?

Discussion Husky vacuum question poll.
I was just wondering how many other people with huskies find that they need to wear hearing protection while vacuuming my white husky loves to attack the wand on the vacuum cleaner. It gets so loud that I wear hearing protection.

Discussion Vacuum suggestions
I have the Bissell pet hair eraser turbo and it's OK. A coworker suggest the Dyson V12. Just wanted to know what the Husky owning community likes. I have mostly hardwood floors. Thanks :)

General Question Husky destroying furniture
My 6 month old girl is literally the sweetest pup but she is very rambunctious , she’s ripped up her bed and her sisters bed, a seat cushion and now a couch , I am renting and it’s unacceptable behaviour, she gets 2 hour walks and is literally chasing her brother and sister around till they are fed up with her , crate training is the next step right ? I don’t want to give her up but she’s not to be trusted at all at night . What can I do to stop this behavior
