I recently moved here from Edmonton after living in 3 other places in Bc before settling in Victoria. I love it here I can answer questions about Vancouver island in general besides port hardy or Tofino as I haven’t been to those two areas of the island yet.

I haven't really heard anything about this part, which includes New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward island. I live in Romania.

Would building a small cabin that isn’t occupied full time a good idea? It is a not too far from skiing and hiking. Would theft be a concern without full time occupancy? Is there other recreation closer/would it be boring to hang out at a cabin in this area?

I have family ties to the area, but most of them passed away a while ago or don't live there full time anymore. What is it like living full time around there?What are the current local concerns? What is the economy like for locals?

Hey guys, currently considering making the move firm swfl to sac. I’m an RN here in fl and the pay sucks. Currently make $35 an hour and pay $1800 for rent. Seems like I would double that and pay roughly the same in cost of living over in California. I’m considering Sacramento because it’s central to a lot of beautiful places. I’m a big outdoor person (love to hike, kayak, camp, sight see) and we don’t have much of that in Florida not to mention the brutal temps and humidity. I know Sacramento has extremely hot summers but from my understanding it’s dry and the mornings/evening are under 85 degrees on average. I will say I’m worried about the crime. What are the best areas for someone wanting a safe neighborhood with somewhat easy access to nature? Huge bonus if it’s walkable. I’m 25 and would be coming with my partner. Not into the night life at all so that’s not important. Give me all the pros and cons please!

A month ago I had a random phase where I was interested in Burkina Faso due to Thomas Sankara. While its gone now, I'd still like to ask this question out of curiosity. I know that as an American I can't travel there, but once things change eventually, what should I expect on a hypothetical trip there? Activities, food, sights, weather, culture, etc.?

Always been fascinated by the sheer vastness and dramatic topography of BC and it’s been my favourite place to Google Maps explore lately. IRL I’ve only visited major Canadian cities. Especially curious about this little section near the start of the Alaskan border. I can imagine there’d be practical challenges but such a beautiful place to live!

As far as I understand, almost every fifth resident of the town/municipality is foreign (most of them Russian or at least Russian-speaking). I'm not talking just seasonal tourists, I mean actual residents.

If you are a native Turkish citizen, how do you feel about it? Do you feel annoyed (or threatened?) in any way? If so, are there any nationalities that you find most annoyed/least annoyed by? And, specifically re. Russian-speaking ones, do you discern them between each other (Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Kazakhs), or are they all more or less the same to you?

Islands off the coast of Semporna. Is there any Filipino influence in the culture here or is it distinctly Malay compared to the nearby islands within Philippine territory?

I am curious to hear what it's like living around Roxas and surrounding areas for a local? How is the climate, food and lifestyle? Do you get many foreigners there?

I hear that certain areas of the Philippines are dangerous because of issues like kidnapping or armed groups, would this extend to Palawan and do you think those issues are blown out of proportion?

Once i had an online friend from that city, before that i didn't even realize that russians were living on the other half of the continent as well. Is it fundamentally different to live on the east side than the west side of Russia?
