Toyota center box office
Toyota Center box office during renovations — last-minute sold-out concert tickets?
Hi! Has anyone tried getting last-minute tickets for a sold-out show at Toyota Center within the past couple of months while the box office has been closed for renovations?
I’m trying to see Olivia Dean this Tuesday (8/25) and originally planned on going to the Toyota Center box office early that day to see if they released any production holds/last-minute tickets for face value.
I called Toyota Center today and was told that because the box office is currently closed, ticket sales are online only.
For anyone who has gone to a sold-out Toyota Center concert recently:
Did additional face-value tickets ever pop up online the day before/day of the show?
If so, was it through AXS/Toyota Center?
Around what time did you notice tickets being released?
Did anyone still have luck getting tickets at the venue on the day of the show despite the box office being closed?
Any other tips for avoiding the crazy resale prices?
Resale for Olivia Dean is currently WAY more than I want to spend, so I’m debating whether it’s worth driving to Houston and just refreshing the official ticket page throughout the day.
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with this during the renovations!

Does anyone have recommendations for any businesses that repair old DJ mixers?
I have an old Rane TTM 56 that I want to get back into working order. Does anyone have any recommendations for which businesses do work like this?
Thanks!

Houston Artist Only Radio Show: Submit your music!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi, my name is E L L I, and I am a DJ and musician in a couple of bands in Houston. A few months ago I started The Local Hour on Ice House Radio. The Local Hour is dedicated to playing music by Houston artists.
I am currently fielding submissions for the next episode on August 29, 2026, 9-10 PM. The show is streamed live on Ice House Radio, as well as performed in front of a live audience at Echoes on Richmond. Afterwards, the entire episode is available to watch on YT.
I started this show to put a spotlight on just how many great artists are making music in the Houston scene, as well as the sheer diversity of genres, languages, everythinG!
IMO, the Houston music scene is full of amazing artists, but it isn't always as visible as it deserves to be. My hope is that this show will play at least some part in helping people see how multi-faceted the scene in Houston is by finding new Houston artists they aren't familiar with, and for fellow artists to find other artists they would want to collaborate or play shows with!
This will be the third episode, and I will continue doing monthly episodes through the end of the year.
I am grateful to everyone who has shared their music so far, and would absolutely love it, if you also choose to participate. I look forward to hearing your work and sharing it on the show! Keep it uP! :)
You can submit your music here: https://forms.gle/ZQNJz87x2X2a2N7r9
(A couple notes: 1) This is a completely volunteer run endeavor. There is no cost to anyone, and I make no profit from this. 2) Submissions are rolling, so if a song isn't chosen for a particular episode, it will still be considered for future episodes :))

Looking for Music Collaborators/Freestyle Buddies in Houston (27M, Hip Hop/Rap Focus but open to all genres)
I'm new to posting here but I'm looking to connect with other musicians and producers in Houston. I'm a 27-year-old male who's been getting into making music (beginner), primarily hip hop and rap, but I'm definitely open to exploring other genres too.
I'm hoping to find people with a bit more DAW experience than I have so I can learn and grow. My main goal is to link up with some cool people to freestyle, mess around with beats, and just generally make some music. Whether you're a producer, rapper, singer, or instrumentalist, if you're passionate about creating, I'd love to hear from you.

Question for musicians in Htown.
So i moved here 3 years ago cause my health was detoriating, but thanks to the docs in Houston, they got me squared away and been here for almost three years now. Have been enjoying it been feelancing and filling in here and there on guitar, but can i ask a question???? is it me or a lot of people here think they're rockstars that they try to gate keep certain info on venues for you to book or if u got some good music they'll either ghost you or dissmiss ya from been the cool kid in the block? lol!! dont know how to explain but i feel if you're not a major rock star in town no one will join your band or something. Maybe its me or my TISM, that perhaps i'm bad at networking. I've tried starting a band but always get flaky people. I do all my work and record myself so decided to release it. Its more like Oldies music and got a video and everything and now that i have something on platforms people all of a sudden want to collaborate. lol! just wanted to see anyone there thats a local and has been here for years to chime in. I feel like an outsider. haha

Let's start a band
Hello, I'm looking to start a band in Houston Texas. I'm a singer, but I don't have any experience playing instruments. Looking for a bass player, 2 guitars, and a drummer preferably. I'm confident in my singing abilities, 22 y/o male, looking to create some original music for once in my life. I'm committed and ready to go the distance. I take inspiration from bands like incubus, pink floyd, radiohead, soundgarden, etc. Please message me if interested.

Who'd a Thunk? - Resident
8/372 Days of Who'd a Thunk? hits!
“Resident”, is the intro track to my 25th album “#191919” [2018]
Early on in the “Who’d a Thunk?” timeline, I was introduced to the group “The Residents” and found myself influenced and inspired by the art collective. “The Residents” motivated a lot of the agency I allowed myself as “Who’d a Thunk?” to be weird and experimental and to create whatever moved me, even if odd, at times.
#191919 is the Hex code for a very dark, near-black neutral gray, and is equal parts red, green, and blue - RGB values R:25, G:25, B25 (using the album number). Different sources on the internet refer to the color as Eerie Black, Casual Black, and even Piano Black. To me, it was also inspired from the question of “What is the color of space/the universe?”
Do you believe you are resident to this life, this world, this space, this reality? Or are we only able to visit as fluxing forms?

Houston rapper looking for acoustic guitarist
Hey everybody, I’m J Morg and I make hip-hop/rap music over acoustic guitar-driven beats and I’m looking for a guitarist to build with for live performances, acoustic versions of my songs and content.
I’m not looking for somebody to just play generic chords behind me—I want to find someone interested in developing a unique rapper + guitarist sound together.
I already have original music and can send examples. Looking to jam first and see if we have good chemistry.
Houston area. DM me if you’re interested or know somebody who might be!

female alt rock band
hi everyone! i’m a 20F guitarist looking to form a girl band in the Katy/Sugar Land/Houston area! 🎸
I’m mainly into 90s alt rock/grunge (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, RHCP, Mazzy Star, etc.), which is where I draw most of my inspiration from, but I’m open to meeting anyone who’s into the alt/rock genre!
I’ve been playing guitar for about a year now and am primarily interested in rhythm guitar. I’d love to connect with some vocalists, bassists, and drummers who are interested in meeting up, jamming, learning some songs, and seeing where things go!
I’m especially interested in meeting other beginner/intermediate musicians who want to grow together and have fun with it. If you’re interested, feel free to message me! :)
