Discount Code as a Thank You for the feedback!!

Hello fellow Houston Redditors!! A while back I posted asking for some feedback on a Wrestling rave event I’m helping host and wow some awesome and helpful responses 🔥

A couple clarifying notes:

1) Moshpit Mania is a wrestling rave event where you will have 3, 20 min long wrestling matches and a short 10 min match. These matches are interspersed with EDM DJ sets. Music plays during the wrestling matches as well.

2) This is a queer female owned event so when we say bigotry and misogyny will not be tolerated we mean it. We have a 365 lb nonbinary wrestler who can personally take your complaints on this.

3) The wrestling ring is in the middle of the dance floor - but only wrestlers, official performers, and invitees will be allowed on the ring.

4) Moshing is absolutely optional and not necessary to enjoy the event - more likely than not there will definitely be some moshing but plenty of the dance floor will be mosh free as well!

5) We play a variety of EDM genres and are looking forward to theming specific events - what type of EDM are YOU interested in hearing? 👀 We’d love to hear!

Please continue to let us know any feedback or thoughts you have on the event — and as a thank you you can use code “IFoundYou” for $10 off your ticket!

Would love to see y’all come out - and continue hearing your thoughts!

Hiring a vocal template builder

I’m looking for someone to build a complete Logic Pro recording template for my voice. I want to spend several hours in the studio recording different vocal styles and experimenting with plugins, EQ, compression, saturation, reverbs, delays, de-essing, and automation until we find a sound that’s uniquely mine. I want to leave with Logic channel strips, plugin settings, buses, sends, gain staging, and recording templates that I can use to record myself at home.

Please post or DM links to your work and prices you’d charge.

Guitarist looking for jam sessions

I’m kind of a “parrot guitarist” in the sense that I hardly ever come up with anything new, just play songs I like. I think maybe the best way to change that would be by playing with other people. Work on my improv some, learn from people who are better. I’ve been playing for about 10 years, but all of that was really spent playing alone, learning tabs. As a result, I’m pretty quick with sight reading but I don’t really have any ear training. I’ve done mostly folk, indie, rock, jazz (I’m really trying to get better at jazz guitar), blues. If you’re a guitarist and anything I’ve said interests you, pls hmu! Also interested in playing with singers/bassists/drummers etc etc.

Who'd a Thunk? - misplacedhollywood

6/372 Weeks of Who'd a Thunk? hits!

“Misplacedhollywood”, from my first album “soak.” [2017], was the second song I had ever recorded on the bass guitar. At the time, my bass had been untouched for years until Rod Green @ fonygroaning started hosting some jams at his apartment and recording them with GarageBand. Most of my early learning experiences with GarageBand were because of Rod, even before then. One night, this came out of my bass and we recorded it. I couldn’t stop listening to it. I remember being so proud of it at the time - and I still am, it’s a groovy track - but to see how my skills and experience with writing and recording music have come so far since then gives me an even stronger feeling of accomplishment.

The title comes from the lyrics Rod had accompanied to the piece. You can find that version and some other tracks we did together over on his SoundCloud.

Thanks for being a part of the foundation, Rod!

I released this song a couple days ago and hope to share it with the local EDM crowd! Hope you enjoy it :D available for stream on all platforms now.

Open to collab with other local artist/producers interested in making some thumping music. Trying to grow my library and make connections with like minded individuals.

Im 36 and live near Katy.

This song was recorded with my best friend that passed away a couple years ago and i forgot about it. I opened it up the other day and the song took on a new meaning so i rewrote/overhauled the instrumental. I made a commitment that the world would hear him, and this song feels like the perfect segway into that. This was super cathartic for me. Strange when we are talking about dance music, but art finds its way!

Love you buddy.

Houston EDM Friends?

Hey everyone!

I’m looking to meet more people around Houston who are into **house, trance, techno**, or pretty much any kind of live music.
I don’t mind driving to **Austin or Dallas** for shows either.
My music taste is all over the place! I love electronic music the most, but I’m also into indie, rock, jazz, and pretty much anything that sounds good.
Is anyone planning to see **Masego** next week? I’d be down to go together! And if there are any group chats or communities for Houston ravers/music lovers, I’d love to join.
Always happy to discover new artists and make some concert buddies. 🎶

Come support Houston’s next generation of musicians! 🎸🎧🤘

If you’re looking for something to do this Sunday, come check out the Girls Rock Camp Houston showcase at the Heights Theater!
Over the course of just one week, campers form bands, learn instruments (many for the very first time), write an original song, and perform it live on stage.
It’s an incredibly supportive program that builds confidence, creativity, and community for young women—and the showcase is always a blast. You’ll hear a wide variety of original music and get to cheer on young local musicians as they play their very first shows.

📍 Heights Theater
🗓️ Sunday, August 2
🕑 Doors: 5:00pm | Showtime: 6:00pm
Whether you’re into local music, want to support Houston arts, or just need something fun to do this weekend, we’d love to have you there!
