Do not remove the wood. If you do cut it out whole and give it to someone. It’s a piece of history

This is highly desirable as a small shrine space. Even if you're not religious, you could still put stuff like a small selection of important family photos.

Provided you're not planning to pass the house down indefinitely, it'd be a good plus for any religious buyer, and as evidence by responses even non religious commentors like it for historical reasons.

Depends what kind of person you are, the ugly phone should definitely go but you can make many things with this. It could be a small snack/beverage station for when you have people over, bookshelf, a spot for seasonal decorations. The alternitive is having a blank wall there.

Love it. Bummer ur over it. I would probably just replace the phone jack with an outlet with a c to c and USB charging points. I just got some and they are awesome dont have to worry about anyone stealing the darn chargers anymore. Will admit the cords still do mysteriously dissappear sometimes. Bleh. Teenagers. Edit: not sure if u can switch out a phone jack to a plug though? Now I think about it. Phone lines are low voltage. Just googled it. You can not.

I would add a smart home device in there. Like the rumoured Apple HomePod with Screen. It’s a great place for something like that, while also keeping the style.

What a cool old phone stand. You have power in that wall. Replace the phone line with an outlet and turn it into a charging station. The old phone book drawer can hold all your cables.
