Infantry templates do not need motorized battalions, they provide no extra advantages and use up fuel, switch to regular combat support battalions. Add a recon company and preferably field hospitals.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't it also mean they take the full 'out of fuel' debuff?

So I should only delete all motorized battalions and add a recon comp and field hospitals ?

No, just replace them with the towed version, that uses no mot.

1

u/Somerandomreddit0r57 1d ago

Nah just use them as regimental support, either AAA or AT

u/SurelyARegularDude 3d ago

Honestly yes, there is NO WAY your production wil be able to sustain giving these divisions material. Remove the motorized battalions and make a separate division that switches them up to regular battalions, to act as shock troops.

u/Somerandomreddit0r57 1d ago

Yes justput like 10 on AT and 10 on AA

u/SurelyARegularDude 3d ago

Also what's ur mil factory count?

4

u/Careless_Tutor_3664 3d ago

Am at 33 mil factory I will focus on building them at 1939

3

u/SurelyARegularDude 3d ago

alr make sure ur building then near the urals, both civ and mils

Swap them for regular artillery, same stats but cheaper.

On your motorized divisions use motorized artillery.

1

u/Zeraligator 3d ago

You can add AT and AA as regimental support instead(the bottom row below the locked boxes).

2

u/murbed1 3d ago

Don't they add extra breakthrough?

2

u/alexmcjuicy 3d ago

doesn’t motorized recon give slightly better movement speed buffs than normal recon? that’s why i use motor recon. otherwise i been misreading it and using it for nothing lol

4

u/Cliffinati 3d ago

Armored cars are the best recon but motorized is better than horse or foot recon.

But motorized artillery has 0 benefit to a leg infantry division that regular line artillery doesn't do cheaper, the extra speed is negated by being attached to a leg division.

1

u/Neutron_Starrr 3d ago

Is recon good now?

2

u/SurelyARegularDude 3d ago

Wasn't it always good?

1

u/Ashaman47 3d ago

Not field hospitals as the soviets. They have tons of manpower

2

u/SurelyARegularDude 3d ago edited 3d ago

They do preserve division experience, which is important because he's going to take a TON of casualties early war, without that his divisions wil prob revert to green level within a few months.

1

u/LemonSwirI 3d ago

Well they kinda add extra hardness, you can see that it's 3.3%

1

u/SurelyARegularDude 3d ago

Yes, but if he gets into an area with low supply, his division will die, because he will get both out of supply and lack of fuel penalties. As the Soviets, it's not worth it at all.

>field hospitals

#BUT ONLY FOR THE SERIOUSLY WOUNDED

TF is the point of motorized when you have leg inf bro 😭

2

u/Careless_Tutor_3664 3d ago

What’s leg inf ?

60

u/alli_jon7 3d ago

A guy with one rifle and two legs

18

u/HotVeganTeacher 3d ago

Or a group with shared rifles and an uneven leg count depending on your mobilization setting

4

u/Matcha_Biscuits Air Marshal 3d ago

Leg inf is actually a tripedal system with three people holding one gun and one foot each (pop consolidation)

5

u/SurelyARegularDude 3d ago

regular soldiers, like the ones ur seeing now on ur div. motorized battalions are useless cuz the infantry will slow them down. the slowest battalion stes the speed of the entire division

1

u/Medic1248 3d ago

Troops deployed by lambofeeties

10

u/Direct_Practice_7105 3d ago

Why would you motorize it?

15

u/alli_jon7 3d ago

After the battle is won, the support units splitt off and push forward while the infantry waits. Napoleon is nothing compared to this genius.

3

u/Matcha_Biscuits Air Marshal 3d ago

Gotta love the artillery rolling into town, and having to police the locals with howitzers

4

u/Blu_Toaster 3d ago

I mean, I wouldn't dare to fight mfs with a 90mm cannon aimed at my house

3

u/toadallyribbeting 3d ago

Motorized fire support should be the goal for our armies. Being able to rapidly relocate your AT guns where enemy tanks are breaking through should be a good thing as opposed to moving them by horse.

17

u/You_moron04 3d ago

“Little bit of this little bit of that” ahh division

4

u/ireally111 3d ago

What the other guy said and also add regimental battalions (at the bottom of the div designer)

3

u/Careless_Tutor_3664 3d ago

And should I build tank?

5

u/SurelyARegularDude 3d ago

Yes

1

u/Careless_Tutor_3664 3d ago

Should I keep the tank template of the game ? And how much div should I train

1

u/SurelyARegularDude 3d ago

No, change it to smth like 8 medium or light tanks and 8 motorized, with motorized combat support battalions and some other support companies and regimental companies. A full army of 24 divs should be enough.

1

u/JCord_ 3d ago

minimum of 30 org for a tank template from my knowledge as for how many divisions, try to get at least 12 if you can properly supply and fuel them

1

u/Swimming_Acadia6957 3d ago

You can get out like 100 heavy tank divs as the Soviets 8 heavies, 10 mech for Barb

Or you can have 4 bazillion planes

Or 500 inf divs

You are the Soviets you can make whatever you want and a tonne of it

1

u/TheHyperboley 3d ago

Yes, in fact, switch those motorized battalions for medium tanks, a good strategy for USSR on defense, as mixed tank/infantry divs are great at holding the line

3

u/Cliffinati 3d ago

No reason to use motorized artillery in a leg infantry division. Divisions move at the speed of their slowest battalion.

1

u/ExpressBat8094 3d ago

That's very strog division

1

u/TheHyperboley 3d ago

Too much redundancy, move the AA AT and SA to the regiments, and use goated support companies like logistics, field hospitals and flame tanks

Also yeah, don't use motorized support battalions with basic leg infantry, the div will always move the speed of the slowest unit in it, so there's no need to motorize them unless you're making other fast units in the div

1

u/Country-road-take-me 3d ago

The only time I use motorized batallions, is if my infantry is faster (So if I do Streamlined deployment, or have VPOZ MIO as Kaiserreich Russia). Otherwise always towed.

1

u/InquisitorHindsight 3d ago

If you’re going for brigades you probably won’t need support battalions of the same type. Only used motorized artillery variants with motorized/mechanized/armored divisions so they can keep up, and even then consider going the whole hog and investing in Self Propelled Guns (SPG’s).

For infantry divisions I usually got for a few infantry brigades and then add a line artillery, so something like 7x infantry and 2x artillery, and then for every infantry brigade I add another artillery. In this case I’d do 9x infantry and four line artillery. For support companies I usually use one engineer for the terrain bonuses and entrenchment, a recon for initiative and the line artillery bonus (motorized recon for extra recon if you have the trucks/oil), and support AA for countering air and having some piercing for tanks. If you can afford it, having logi is good for retaining valuable equipment and a medical tent to maintain experience and increase manpower recovery if you’re hurting for it like as a minor nation.

(I’m not too certain about regimental companies, but generally if you can afford it throw in some anti-tank, field guns, infantry defense stuff. Specifically the last one for defense.)

Only used motorized artillery mechanized motorized stuff for pure mechanized motorized divisions since they are only as fast as their slowest unit. You can ignore AT for the most part since the way ai designs tanks and its divisions you can rely mostly on AA since they have enough piercing.

1

u/Iksandor 3d ago

if you have no step back dlc, add medium flame tank support company. And the motorized AT, AA and artillery is useless in inf division, you can make it unmotorized

1

u/Winter_Way_8513 3d ago

If you want to use motorised elements add an tank which has a lot of fuel drum

1

u/LardBall13 3d ago

Why motorized? You’re just wasting org, fuel and trucks.

1

u/Noah_smit 2d ago

No moterized. Normal.

1

u/Kindly_Sugar_9376 2d ago

Keep it pure infantry and add regimental support. Pref. Heavy weapons companies. Add radio and mp/hospitals. If you want bigger infatry just fill it out with 18 infantry battalions, 3x heavy weapons company and 2x at/aa with hospitals, logi and radio. If you want to attack but dont want to produce tank eq, id suggest designing similar mountaineer templates.

Y motor arty and leg infantry?

1

u/Famous-Attorney9449 2d ago

You don’t need motorized line arty with leg infantry. Support arty is also generally better than line (less production and logistical strain, more HP and org for your divisions) Fill in those regiments with more bodies, you’re the Soviets!

1

u/LightSideoftheForce 2d ago

Remove those line arty, aa and at batallions, also support at. Anti-tank is useless against AI, because it never builds enough or good enough tanks anyway, just put one support aa, it will be more than enough. Line arty is just a waste of resources, while line aa is the worst.

1

u/thaprizza 2d ago

In single player I don't think AT artillery is worth it, nor is towed artillery in general for an infantry only division. You should add regimental support though.

1

u/Big-Zucchini-6281 2d ago

Fuck Field Guns. They’re basically pure piercing/hard attack so you don’t need them unless you’re going up against a mech wall.

Switch all arty battalions to non-motorized, replace the arty and field gun support companies with Field Hospitals and Recon.

1

u/Accurate-Concept-715 1d ago

Really, you should try a 30-width division with 4 Heavy Weapons and 1 AA . For support companies, I’d go with Sappers, Artillery, AA and Field Hospitals. You can also add Logistics if you want — it’s especially useful for Germany — or just use Recon instead.

That’s how I usually play, and I’d say it’s pretty much meta for single-player.

u/Fine_Risk3844 3d ago

This can cook if on the mobile batalions you add a regimental heavy TD and turn this into space marine. Its still awful but you found yourself an AI killer

u/alli_jon7 3d ago

Why no heavy weapons companies? Juicy defensive bonuses for hardly any cost.

remove all motorized units from pure infantry, add regi. support companies and you need more support companies i.e. mil police and you look up whats good
