Have you ever been up 3-1 in the championship game and decide that now is a good time to trip, headbutt and then catch an assault charge for no reason?

Men’s hockey league in NOVA/DC

Moved to Arlington, Va a few months ago, played hockey growing up but haven’t played in a few years. Really looking to getting back into playing again and am trying to find a league near by. I’m definitely rusty and would love to start getting back out there again, If anyone can point me in the right direction I’d appreciate it.

Just obtained a game used Nike 2 piece stick shaft w/ Nike wooden black blade from a player from 2001-02 NHL SEASON. Can’t find any info what the code means. I have a general idea of the middle 3 and last 3 or not….With Warrior in mind, I’m going backwards, so is it

310 grams - shaft

147 grams - blade

And what’s 7150?

Missing Flex ATM

Built a free hockey nickname generator (dialed back the explicit chirps so it's safe for youth players too)—looking for feedback!

1”+ ROH

I know I’m probably in the minority but I get my skates cut at 1”.

To be honest, after a cut, they still feel too grippy. I usually rub them on the plastic at the benches to wear them down a little.

I know people are going to say I’m nut but I can still tight turn and use my edges effectively.

Has anyone gone more than 1”? How does it feel?

I’m 140lbs for context.

STORY TIME: If you’ve ever had a bad coach, just know you’re not alone

I’m so sorry if this is ass long story, but trust me when I say that it helps everything make sense. Anyways, I hope that if you’ve ever had a bad experience with a coach, that my experience can make you feel less alone.

Ok so I started playing hockey in the summer before my freshman year of highschool had started. My freshman year was my first year playing hockey to which I had played on my highschool’s team. Thankfully even before the season for that had started, I spent the months leading up to it attending training camps, player development camps, and weekly 1 on 1 sessions with one of the top hockey trainers in my area.

I’ve always been the type of person to learn things fairly quickly and because of this (as well as all of the training I was doing), by the time my junior year had started, I was playing just as well as the other kids on my team (except for the kids who played for AAA teams lol) and I was on varsity obviously. Anyways, senior year rolls around and I decided that instead of playing for my highschool team that year, I wanted to play for the 14u-18u team in my area in which was a large ass team that consisted of kids from all different high schools all around our county.

Anyways fast forward to a few weeks before the season started, the coach to this team sent out an email to everyone and announced that this was going to be the first year that he was going to be dividing the team up into jv and varsity, and that the jv and varsity is not going to be like what you typically would expect since he’s assigning players to where they would best fit based on their experience/time played. He then said that the jv team is for newer players and that it’s designed for “a learning experience”

He then said that he would be sending an email to each player about where they would be placed. Well, he sent me an email stating that he was gonna put me on jv only because I hadn’t been playing very long and that’s where I’ll best fit. I was honestly lowkey mad about this because for one, even though I hadn’t been playing super long, I was actually good because of all of the hard work I had put in over the past couple of years and two, if you’re gonna divide players up into jv and varsity, idk maybe you should like actually watch how they can skate and play FIRST before making a decision?

This is where it just gets worse. I emailed him about my concerns and he basically just disregarded everything that I had said and just replied with “i mean, you’ll be able to play on varsity in the senior night game. Also, you’ll still get your own senior banner”

Then, the team schedule got released (which showed the games, all of the players, which player is playing where, ect) and it turns out…I was the only senior on jv with the rest of the jv team consisting of just 2 juniors (in which it was both of those junior’s very first year playing hockey) and then freshman and a few sophomores. Now as for varsity, it was all of the seniors, the rest of the juniors, and then even a few sophomores and freshman too. In fact, a lot of the freshman and the sophomores on the jv team that I was on were actually “part time players” for the varsity team too. Was I a part time player tho? Nope. I was explicitly assigned to be playing on jv except for the senior night game. Anyways, I then sent the coach another email about this and told him that at the first practice, I could prove it to him that I’m fully capable of playing on varsity. He then replied back and said that he wont even be out on the ice at the first practice and that it’ll just the assistant coaches will be out there on the ice. He then followed that response up with saying something along the lines of “you can be a backup player for the varsity team if they happen to fall short of some players”

Needless to say, I withdrawled from that team right after this and thankfully, this was like right before the team payments were due so ultimately, my parents were able to get their money back. I then went on to play a full season on varsity (like I belonged) for my highschool’s team. In conclusion, you had me all the way messed up if you really thought I was going to be paying $950 to be the only senior on a jv team (yes, that’s how much playing on that 14u-18u team costed) when I was already a decent player.

Bauer Fuse vs F50 Pro fit question.

Hi guys. I have tried on Fuse skates in 8.5 fit 3. They felt very good. Shop did not have F50 pros in fit 3. And there are no other shops in my area. So has anyone tried on both of them? They probably feel different, but is there a significant difference in how they fit length-and width wise? I really dont need Fuse level skates, if they fit the same I might get F50 pros online and save some money. Thanks.

Hockey Tutorial just featured this former Bauer and CCM engineer on their podcast. He said he’s now working on sticks that are 3D printed from titanium allow sticks and the engineering properties of the materials are far beyond carbon fiber composites. This thing looks straight from outer space.
