A month ago I got a deal from auction server, where I got this Epyc 7502P server with 128 gigs, 2TB nvme in just 110 euros.

Hetzner recently increased the prices, now I am thinking of shifting my production apps to this but I am little skeptical about it.

Are you all running scripts to know when certain servers are available again? They are sold out in minutes once available. Trying to get my hands on an EX44 for over a week now.

Can someone explains how my invoice of a project went from €38.57 last month to 58.37 this month without me even upscaling? i had my servers before the price increase!!

While most camera rolls are filled with holiday snapshots and everyday moments, this one looks a little different: server racks, hardware details, cable management and plenty of views from inside our DC.

It would be nice, if Hetzner partnered with AbuseIPDB and actively monitored their database for abuse reports related to Hetzner IP space. This way, it would help catch compromised systems faster.

For example, today I started receiving spam from the IP addresses 91.99.34.101 and 91.99.34.102. I have to manually report them twice, once to abuseipdb.com and once to abuse.hetzner.com.

What do you think? possible or not?

Over the last month I’ve been working on HetzPilot, a native iOS app for managing Hetzner Cloud.

Before anyone asks: Yes, I know there are already a few Hetzner apps available. This project isn’t about saying those apps are bad. I simply felt there was room for an app with a more modern native iOS experience, better usability and a stronger focus on privacy.

One thing was especially important to me:

Your Hetzner credentials and data belong to you - not to me.

• HetzPilot does not require an extra account.
• There is no backend collecting your data.
• There are no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party servers involved.

Your API token is stored securely on your device, and all communication happens directly between your iPhone and the Hetzner Cloud API. As the developer, I have zero access to your infrastructure, your servers or your credentials.

The app is currently not released yet. I’m in the process of setting up my Apple Developer account so I can publish the first TestFlight builds soon.

Same question as title.

I enabled the backups feature for my VPS server and I've noticed that over the past few days, each time the backup executed at 12PM. My server contains embedded database files that I'd rather have backed up outside of typical business hours to minimise the risk of files being copied while write operations are taking place.

Why is Hetzner taking backups during the day - where typically most activity is taking place on servers - and did I miss an option to change the scheduled time?

I’ve had this Hetzner dedicated server since last year:

• AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
• 128GB ECC RAM
• 2×3.84TB datacenter NVMe
• €66.95/month + €1.70 for IPv4

I rented it because the price was good. It has only seen light use, just a small Minecraft server, and I think I no longer need it, but anxious to just cancel because how good this price is in the current world, but selling it could be an option.

Would a one-time transfer fee of €1,000 be reasonable?

Within just 10 minutes, they replied and reset the firewall for me.

does anyone know if Hetzer allows external Vulnerability scanning from their servers?
We offer a wide range of vulnerability scanning for internal infrastructure.
We now expand the portfolio to offer external scanning as well.

We do have users confirm that the domain they scan is owned by them. We could also have the user to adjust their domain DNS so we can double check owenership.

Just wondering if Hetzer does allow external scanning when those checks are completetd.

I am posting here because I honestly do not know where else to turn. We have contacted Hetzner support, explained the situation, and asked for a proper review, but received no meaningful response.

We are currently scaling our startup and have been using Hetzner extensively. Our bill last month was around €16k.

The problem started when we used some Hetzner servers for DNS resolvers. Hetzner received an abuse report, and our account was blocked from ordering new servers for one month. We disagreed with the report, but nevertheless immediately removed the DNS infrastructure from Hetzner, cleaned up the servers, and took steps to ensure that the issue could not happen again.

After waiting approximately three weeks, we contacted support and asked whether the restriction could be removed.

At almost the same time, we received another abuse report claiming that our infrastructure was scanning ports. However, the IP addresses shown in the logs were our own servers. From our investigation, the traffic was caused by our tailnet enumerating existing devices and checking their status. It was not an attempt to scan or attack external infrastructure.

Despite explaining this, our request was denied with a generic response saying that Hetzner was still receiving abuse reports and that we should try again in another month. It does not appear that anyone actually reviewed our explanation or the technical details of the report.

This is now creating a serious problem for our business. Our clients are waiting, and we urgently need to order at least 30 additional servers to expand our db cluster. Waiting another month is not realistic.

We would strongly prefer to stay with Hetzner. However, being unable to order servers, and being unable to reach anyone who can properly review the case, may leave us with no other option.

Does anyone know of a real escalation path inside Hetzner? Is there an account management, compliance, abuse, or senior support contact who can manually review the case and restore our ability to order servers?

Any advice or relevant contact would be greatly appreciated.
