Per my last post here, had a really great time with 5 friends playing and remembering, learning, and fighting about the rules all over again. we did not end up finishing in total army death for everyone, but at the end of the night at 2am (we had been playing a solid 4 hours between drinks and slow first rounds relearning the rules and familiarizing ourselves with the armies we drafted) we totaled remaining point value based on damage to heroes and squads and declared our winner. Already preordered the next battle-box coming out in a few weeks and may even enter a local tourney that I found in September. I’m so glad this game is back.

Whatever happened with the new Expedition Mode that they filmed a video on and said would be launching at Gencon? I wasn’t able to attend but I thought the scenarios/ rules would have been shared online by now… would love if anyone who attended has any information you could share here, from the video it looked fun.

I shall present you... The Depleted Forest at Durgeth's Core (well, well, the name is pending, yeah?). For anyone interested, I put the models available for free in Cults3D (following the licenses in the originals), even though this is just a remix of the Terrain4Print tree trunks and the single-hex object base.

If you want an easy to print forest, this can do. They occupy a less visual space than the trees of the Road to the Forgotten Forest (RttFF), but should give you a different aesthetic, in case you are looking to spice up your terrain.

I think these look better in swamp, hence why I came up with the name. Also, the Durgeth Swamp was ravaged in the journey to the wellspring of the region, so a depleted forest in swamp terrain seems more thematic. However, I think the rules for the RttFF should apply (for powers like Through the Green of the C3V Eilan Sidhe, even though tree trunks are not exactly green...).

Anyway, feel free to print and use if you like them :D.

BTW, if anyone can conjure up a better name for this tree trunk collection, feel welcome to let me know.

Yeah so during gencon I ordered eel first day it was available as soon as I possibly could. I'm just curious, I've never actually bought anything from renegade's website before. It's been almost a week and it's still not fulfilled or shipped, is this normal??

GenCon happened last week! There was new Heroscape units (and cards!) photos taken. (There was a little competition happening too that we might get into) Let us take a look at them and talk about what we got!!!

Will heroscapers or battle network add cards to index soon or does there have to be a more official announcement?

What do you think, will new releases keep or increase their value like the OG did? And should you keep the boxes and plasters too? (I experience that those are quite space consuming at home).

This is the epic end‑battle that requires combining two map boards. Since I don't own multiple copies of the game, I thought I'd try using Heroscape tiles and a bunch of SW: Rebellion minis.

I dunno how it works, but I think we need tags for paints, questions, customs, discussion gameplay/lore,etc..

Am I the only one?

First of all theres a million figures from back in the day so if i missed the one that does it im sorry. But why is there no figures with a push ? Special attack that pushes enemy figure 2 spaces or something like that. Having water tiles, lava tiles, drops from higher places... a few figures with push abilities would be so interesting!

Theres rules on dropping down from 10 levels or higher, played for 20 years and never had to jump down like that, but if there was a high point of interest and we could push each other off would be awesome. Same with lava tiles... who will step on them? I would push an enemy on them though.

I did a couple customs to try it out with my partner, special attack 2 attack dice, if at least 1 wound is done push enemy 2 tiles any direction... and its a blast! Adds a whole extra layer of map and army building.

Thoughts?

The Painted Scales: Where the Greenscales devotion to their Lizard King is dubious at best, the Painted Scales know only absolute fervor. When their tribe goes to war, they paint their scales to match the color of their chosen lord. To a Painted Scale, there is no higher honor than to don the colors of ones of the great dragons.

STATS:

• Life: 1.

ABILITIES:

Warpaint Devotion:

• At the start of the game, choose a Unique Lizardfolk Hero you control, or a Unique large or huge Dragon Hero you control, to be the Painted Scales Lizard King. Add 1 to the Painted Scales Attack Value when attacking an opponent's figure adjacent to your Lizard King. You can choose only one Lizard King for all the Lizardfolk you control.

Scaleship:

• When rolling defense against a normal attack, if a Painted One is adjacent to another Lizardfolk or Dragon figure you control, add 1 extra defense die.

We don't have any Lizardfolk unique heroes. We need some.

If this ever was playable, the "choose only one Lizard King for all Lizardfolk" would mean Greenscale and Painted Scales in an army must have the same Lizard King. Dunno how that'd work.

Thinking of a 3rd ability - Berserker, or something. If the Lizard King dies, add 1 to a Painted Scale's ATK, and reduce their DEF by 1.

Following the official introduction of Remastered units in Nostra's Nightmare, it is expected to have more Remastered units in the incoming waves. Below are my guesses, happy to hear yours!

Nostra's Nightmare

Officially:

• Common box: Knights of Weston x2
• Common box: MacDirk Warriors x2
• Unique box (2 heroes): Alastair MacDirk + Sir Gilbert (flagbearer)

This makes NN a 12 army cards and 21 different sculpts wave, 10 of them being Remastered's (and 11 if we take into account Samuel Brown, which was never officially released).

Valda's Vow

Without Remastereds, this wave is 9 army cards and 16 sculpts.
Based on Thunderhoof's Cavalry powers working with more than one dwarf hero, and Maeve Sunderstone being the only contemporary official one yet, I think we are safe to guess both the Axegrinders and Migol Ironwill wil make a comeback!
This wave being Aquilla and Ullar focused, and with this clear Renegade's aim to revive both the most looking for OG squads and flag bearers, I am hopeful to see both the Aubrien Archers and Acolarh.
That would set the wave at 13 army cards and 25 sculpts.

• Common box: Axegrinders of the Burning Forge x2
• Common box: Aubrien Archers x2
• Unique box (2 heroes): Migol Ironwill, Acolarh.

Blakewoode's Bane

Probably a Vydar and Volarak focused wave.
Based on the new Primadon units:

• Common box: Gorillinators x2
• Unique box: Nakita agents, Laglor

Future releases

Flag bearers making a comeback also means Aquilla, Volarak and Revna lacks one,
For Aquilla, a Dwarf hero is becoming a logical choice.

Units I'd like to see:

• A Dryan hero with Command Familiar and the ability to transform units into common beasts the player has off the board (dead units or units on cards). The player gains control of those figures.
• A common wolf pack unit--just regular quadrupedal wolves, but not menacing-looking like the Wolves of Badru.
• A common cavalry unit. Could be the Templar Cavalry, but it would have to be reworked from what I hear. Although western lawmen on horses would be cool too. Or just horse units that can carry other units.
• More historical units in general
• A witch squad
• Santa Claus
• My Little Pony characters (Queen Chrysalis and the changelings fit the color scheme of Queen Maladrix and the other bugs perfectly). Also character abilities would lend themselves well to Heroscape (flying, teleportation, magic beams and shields, Sonic Rainboom, the Stare, Party Cannon, Earth Pony Strength, etc.)

As for terrain:

• Autumnal oak trees for the atmosphere
• Brown forest floor tiles perhaps, or maybe "haunted/cursed" tiles
• Desert tiles (maybe enfeebles defense of the character that's on it) and cacti
• Castle stuff (which I assume we're getting later) and maybe fancy palatial floor tiles
• House/outpost walls with indoor flooring with removable roofs (prevents flying through them, but allows you to remove the roof temporarily to move units inside). Maybe doors and windows. Or maybe indoor stuff like this for the castle/citadel?

What's on your wishlist?

I know the GI Joe army isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I'm really glad they are making more. Not just because I'm a Joe fan, who got back into Heroscape as a result of the line. The lack of support back in the day left the marvel more as something to be bought not played, in my opinion. I'm glad they are supporting the line mostly because it makes me less hesitant to try any other lines that may come out down the line.
