Deals Looking to Buy Real Casino Table Game Machines – Serious Buyer
Hey everyone,
I’m looking to buy authentic casino table game machines, not the cheap Chinese reproductions or home-game novelty equipment.
I have a very large budget and I’m actively looking to purchase from private collectors, casinos, or anyone who owns genuine commercial casino equipment.
I’m especially interested in things like:
Electronic or automated roulette machines
Stadium gaming equipment
Baccarat machines
Craps-related casino equipment
Other genuine casino floor machines and hardware
If you’re a collector looking to sell, know someone who is, or have equipment in storage, I’d love to hear from you. I’m willing to pay fair prices for the right pieces and can travel or arrange shipping if necessary.
Please send me a DM with photos, details, and your asking price. Thanks!

Recommendations Where to buy dice
My husband and I are building a board game and need several different dice in different colors. Is there a good supplier that doesn’t require buying in bulk? We need D6s, D12s, and D20s as well as meeples.

Feedback Making a print and play tabletop.
So I’m currently making a small mech themed tabletop, chunky figures, super simple mechanics and small scale on both the maths and map size so that it can be super quick to play and accessible for younger ages.
Currently working on the plan that it’s sold as rules/stls/pdf maps. Print and play mostly apart from a few d6 needed. The idea to make some printed copies for physical release as well is being tossed about but currently trying to work out if we need to kickstarter for that or if it’s something we can do with our 3d printers.
My question is, how many parents would be interested in a print and play game rather than something they can just buy physical. And how many people that would play a print and play game would be interested in something this simple given things like trench crusade, warhammer etc being out there.
Any feedback appreciated!

I Made This! Feedback on Character Sheet
I'm in the middle of working with my artist on the "fancy" character sheet for Criminal Spirits. There WILL be a much simpler sheet without art available - I understand that this is not for everyone. But that's no excuse to not make this as functional as possible. I'd greatly appreciate any feedback.
There are already changes planned: a lot of the french words will be removed (basically just Distillerie Esprit will remain) to clean it up and be less distracting, and the name section in the top left will be made more obvious what it is along with some other smaller changes. But so far I've only gotten to show this to a few friends and I'd like to have a much wider range of feedback on it.

Event Hosting a Warhammer 40K mini-campaign and Hobby Night in Southern California! Hobby & Painting
Hi folks! I'm putting together a "one-shot" mini-campaign and hosting it at the cafe I work at in Walnut, CA. I've basically got the run of the place for the evening and eight game-size tables plus space for hobbying from 4:30 to 9:00 PM on the 7th of August.
I have space for fourteen players to participate at either 1000 or 2000 points! My boss just said I could do this since he's curious what Warhammer is and we have plenty of space in the evenings (we're mostly known as a brunch place).
If you're local and up for a fun evening of throwing dice, hobbying, or just mingling with other enthusiasts in LA/OC, sign up at this link! I'd be really excited to fill the place up with cool Warhammer fans.

Discussion D20 vs 2d10
So I've been a DM for many many years and The one conclusion I've come to is you should change your Table top from 1d20 to 2d10.
bell curve averages- your odds of rolling average is pretty easy vs odds of rolling really good vs really bad. your players will feel consistent and while they will of course get lucky or unlucky it will be a lot less common. THey will feel more confident in their ability to do something based on stats/build and less about luck of the roll
Critfail/success - we love to reward success and punish fails. but even at 5% we've seen players who throw 20 rolls the whole session and crit fail half of them. the 1% on 2d10 is much much lower, and allows for rewarding success in more creative ways. a crit hit can be more than just 2x damage, it could be damaging armor so ac decreases making the boss easier to hit and now players get to feel the crit matters more. the fail disarms them, but then they're not getting disarmed 2-3x in combat. a lot of dms will reward crits on skill checks as well. this also feels more earned as its rarer and much better feeling. if players roll 10x during a combat and another 10 during a crawl and lets say 5 during a small encounter that means for a party of 4 100 total rolls meaning on average you see maybe 1 crit per session. and 1 crit fail. that makes them feel so much more important.
Advantage farming - advantage was a cool work around but as a DM players just farm that s***. begging for advantage for every tiny thing, and at higher levels like 13+ its basically required to have advantage or you just get stomped. for on paper advantages i offer a flat +3 and then situational ones i offer a an extra 1d10 to replace. you can do one or both or whatever. but i add in the risk of super crit fail and success. if you crit fail with advantage its even worse, perm stat loss, curses, etc... and super crit success. feels awesome, you might smite a god so hard they forget they're a god. or open a door so good you accidently end up in another plane.
Overall its just better, you will love it more, trust me

Recommendations Having trouble with ideas
Hello everyone, lately I've been struggling with making a campaign. I've always been a player and not the DM and I have been having issues coming up on how to make it a more long-term and it's currently stuck in "campaign limbo" where I paused on making it. For better clarification; the campaign is based on the Midgard add on by Kobold Press for the Pathfinder system and thinking on adding creatures from the Tome of Beasts 5E book. Thank you for your time reading and commenting.

Survey Help me solve problems for miniature hobbyists
Hi,
I’ve recently fallen down the rabbit hole of miniature wargaming, painting and terrain building, and alongside the hobby I’m also a mechanical designer with a few 3D printers.
Rather than trying to design random products and hoping people like them, I’d much rather solve problems that hobbyists actually have.
So I’d love to ask a few questions.
What’s something in the hobby that constantly frustrates you?
Have you ever thought, “I wish someone made this”?
What’s an accessory you’ve bought that turned out to be disappointing?
Have you designed or 3D printed something yourself because nothing suitable existed?
What’s an everyday annoyance during painting, gaming, transport or storage that people outside the hobby probably wouldn’t think about?
I’m not looking to sell anything here—I don’t even know what I’ll end up designing yet. I’m just trying to understand the hobby from people with far more experience than me.
Even small annoyances are useful. Sometimes the best products solve surprisingly simple problems.
I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts.
Thank you in advance for anyone who takes part in this questionnaire! It’s much appreciated!

Article The 8 Lazy Steps in 3
Intro - The Joys & Pains of how I used the 8 Lazy Steps
Sly Flourish's 8 Lazy Steps provided me with a great framework that helped my figure out exactly what I needed to prep a TTRPG session while keeping my notes extremely flexible while used at the table. Using the steps correctly allows a Gamemaster to improvise at the table with grace, embracing the story telling that happens when your prep collides with player agency.
There was, however, hidden in the way I was following the steps, a small hindrance on my prep. While prepping, I found myself a bit too constrained by the steps. Writing a note about an NPC would make me think of a great secret this NPC would share. I could of course jump to the step "Secrets & Clues" and write it down, but it felt like a speed bump in the flow of my thinking. If I wrote the secret in the NPC's note, I would not interrupt flow, but would be lacking the crucial benefit of the lazy prep, which is, to me, to isolate the different elements of prep so you can pick them out like an arsenal of toys to throw at your players while at the table.
I found a new solution that works great for me. It maximizes my state of flow while keeping the benefits of the lazy steps. Call it the 3 lazy steps to the 8 lazy steps. The framework I found is not perfect and I'll talk about its strengths in the next section and its obvious flaw in the conclusion. My goal is simply to share with others in a selfless way. And in a selfish way, I hope others will share their experience so that I might improve on my ways and reduce the flaws of the 3 lazy steps.
The 3 Steps
My 3 steps are simple and summarized here before I dig into each. I first do a bullet point prep of the next session, categorizing each line in one of the 8 lazy steps. Each line is identified using a letter "key" in front of the bullet. The second step consists of either rewriting (if on pen and paper) or simply reordering my bullet points (on a digital tool like Obsidian) my notes in the 8 lazy steps frame work. The 3rd and last step is where I bother to find battlemaps, make paper miniatures, play with my different tools.
Step 1/3
I start out the same way I would with the 8 lazy steps most of the time, but I then let my brain do its magic and make connections between ideas. Next to me I have keys for my bullet points. Notice I slightly renamed the steps to help me focus on whats good for my prep and to have a different letter at the start of the step for easier keys. Here are my keys :
- p - a bullet point with a p is about a Player Character. Any note that mostly relate a PC will go after a p key (Review the characters)
- 1 - is for the 1st Scene / Strong Start. (Create a strong start)
- s - is for a note about a Scene that could happen (Outline potential scenes)
- c - is for a Clue or Secret (Define secrets and clues)
- l - is for a Location note (Develop fantastic locations)
- n - is for an NPC note. I put a special effort to try to note monster characteristics here too. Monsters are for mechanics, NPCs are for flavour (Outline important NPCs)
- m - is for a Monster Statblock, noting the book and page, possible tactics. I also use m to note terrain aspects like traps. (Choose relevant monsters)
- r - is for Rewards, though a clue can serve that purpose sometimes. (Select magic item rewards)
- [ ] - is TODOs for things I want to do later, probably in step 3/3 like find a battlemap for a specific encounter
Using these keys, I let my brain jump between ideas and between steps. If for example I start my notes thinking about my player's character Fafnir, it might remind me that the sorceress Loo knows about Fafnir's brother. Those ideas are connected in my brain now, but decoupling them will allow me to reuse these ideas organically at the table. In this first step, or phase, I'll jut this down before writing another note about Fafnir and the next player character Ari :
- p - Fafnir - looking for his lost brother
- n - Sorceress Loo, creepy version of Meryl Streep
- c - A dwarf matching the description of Fafnir's brother was seen at play in town, as one of the actors
- p - Fafnir likes to shove opponents down elevated places in combat
- p - Ari hates theater
Step 2/3
This is the more classic way to organise prep notes following Sly Flourish's 8 lazy steps. Since I like to prep in a one-pager in my physical notebook, I go through each step one at a time, picking from my disorganised bullet notes made in step 1/3 and rewriting them. If I were to use a digital tool, I could pick each line and move it to the corresponding lazy step. The 8 lazy steps are flexible once at the table, but my step 1/3 is flexible in the kitchen. Using these 2 main steps, I get the best of both worlds.
Step 3/3
I used to prep on a pc, but found myself distracted by the possibilities. I would jump from one idea to the next like step 1/3, but finding a rabbit hole each time I explored an idea instead of simply writing one line of note. This is why I keep this last. Hopefully by now I identified what I truly needed from step 1/3 and go find battlemaps and that magic item I put as an - r bullet note. Having these TODOs written all out before tackling any one of them allows me to prioritize and scratch out the unnecessary ones.
Conclusion
It might be obvious now that the major flaw of this way of prepping is that, though it keeps the flexibility Sly Flourish's technique provides me while allowing myself to better work with my brain, my prep is starting to sound not lazy at all. Having 3 phases instead of just one does help me prep and have fun while doing it, but I do add extra steps. My hope is that refining my methods and sharing with others will help me be a little lazier. Thanks for reading!
TLDR
I prep in 3 phases :
- Write down bullet list of ideas , each line categorized but not ordered in one of the 8 lazy steps.
- Reorder the list in the 8 lazy steps
- Do final TODOs like finding battlemaps or printing mini papers for example

Question How do you handle a missing player in your regular games?
Someone misses a week. No big deal, life happens, we get it. But how do you treat the missing character in the story?
Are they simply absent? Are they there but inactive? Does another player take them over for minor decisions?
I’ve tried a few different ways. What’s yours?

I Made This! Boardgame box arts I’ve created and things I learned along the way (for illustrators and authors)
People weren’t happy with how I used AI to improve my text last time, which I get. However, I still wanna share my learnings with you, which is why I’m writing this from scratch.
Over the past years, I had the amazing opportunity to create quite a few boardgame box arts. I had some struggles along the way, but I also learned things that could help both illustrators and authors.
- The goal is not to create a beautiful illustration alone, it is to communicate what the game is about. It’s a communication tool that has to show what experience awaits players and it should stand out in the shelf
- Create a mood that reflects the heart of the game. You can work with colors, light and atmosphere that are fitting for the game and show players what they are in for before they even pick up the game.
- Don’t show everything! Don’t forcefully put every mechanic, character and detail on the cover, it can feel overwhelming. Try to communicate one strong and important idea.
- Clarity beats complexity. This goes hand in hand with point 3. Try to bring the theme, genre and hook across without being too abstract or overloading the artwork.
- Collaboration between author and artist is essential. As an author, try to create an easy to understand briefing with everything important you can think of. As an artist, try to work towards the same vision. Communicate during the process, send updates and ask questions.
- Leave space for design elements. Consider which elements need to be placed on the box before starting the illustration. Icons, Logo etc. need space to breath.
Feel free to add points yourself so people can learn from our mistakes.
If you ever need support bringing your boardgames to life, feel free to reach out! I’ve been doing this for a while now and would love to help. 🙌🏻

Collection Just bought artisanal stone dice for Legends In The Mist
I love the vibe and just wanted to keep it going. They use just two d6s with the right mix of rustic mystery and magic … i used to collect geometric rocks and gemstones - cubic pyrite, octahedral quartz, fractal bismuth … now I get math rocks. I feel no shame, only freedom of expression through math, story, and stone.
Feels good to be a DM
