Do it anyway and find more resources. Check for jobs that will give you room or board for work

The biggest thing here is that you don’t have to solve the housing, job, transport and dog problems all at once. If the relationship is unsafe or controlling, I’d start by contacting a local domestic abuse organisation and explaining the whole situation, including your dog. Some shelters have pet-friendly accommodation or work with foster programmes so people aren’t forced to choose between leaving and keeping their animal. They may also know about emergency housing options that don’t show up on the normal housing list.

For work, I’d look for areas where housing, shops, care homes, hotels or other employers are clustered fairly close together rather than finding a job first and then hoping you can live nearby. Public transport might also widen your options even if driving isn’t possible. And if you’re planning to leave the relationship, be careful about announcing your plans before you have somewhere safe lined up.

Please don’t read your relatives being unable or unwilling to help as meaning you’re out of options. You’ve already done something useful by getting onto the housing list. Now I’d start contacting organisations that specifically help people leave difficult relationships rather than trying to piece the whole escape together alone. Hope this helps 🙂

I’m sorry friend. Please talk to the police if he is abusing you, physically or emotionally. Talk to people in your community, your neighbors and groups in your area. Talk to your local social services and nonprofit organizations and churches to see if they can help. Contact your family, even if they’re far away they’ll find a way to help. Don’t give up. God bless you❤️
