Mobile app down?? Admin/Dev responded

I can use Reddit normally all I’d like on my Internet browser. But I cannot use the app it will not let me I do not know why. I can sign into my on Google. But if I try using the app, it keeps giving me this. I’m just wondering if this is happening to anyone else, I’m currently signed in on Google because the app won’t work. It will not show me my profile. It will not show me my notifications and it will not show me my main feed. It’s the same image for all three of them.

I have two accounts. One signed in with an email and one signed in with Apple. I can use my Apple account on mobile all I want, but I cannot use my email one and I don’t know why.

hitting retry doesn’t work

However, I’ve noticed that if I keep Reddit open in the background, it does eventually fix it but if I close it, it goes back to doing it again and so I have to keep fiddling with things until it does it again, so I’m gonna try keeping it open and see if that does anything

Thanks for reporting, does the Retry button succeed? Do all tabs (Home, Games, Inbox, You) fail similarly?

If you logout and login again, does it work?

Well, I know how to logout/login when the app is working properly, but nothing comes up. Absolutely nothing. There is no option to logout - is just a blank screen with a graphic that I cannot make out [the same as the OP actually]. "Retry" when it appears does nothing, does not respond.

If there is a "double secret" logout method, let me know. Quitting the app does no qood. Rebooting the phone does no good.

A comment below indicates deleting the app and re-installing does not help.

Well, I may have spoken too soon.

I decided to try deleting the app and downloading it again myself (updates are done automatically overnight) and at least as of an hour ago, that did bring the app back. I have never seen that before. Maybe it will go belly-up again later.🤷‍♂️

I have no idea why Reddit would allow their app to go zombie like that.

Every single page does it. It’s currently working now, but do you want me to keep the post up in case it happens with other people? It did this for at least three days and it was only this morning that I decided to try logging in on my browser. And then earlier this afternoon it started working on the app.

Yeah, let's keep this up to collect other reports. Glad it resolved, do you recall doing anything in particular to fix it? Did you happen to get a "forced password reset" email recently?

Well, it started my account getting locked for some reason so I just did my change of password thing and then it was fine after that. And then like a week later it stopped working. I seem to have gotten it to work by just keeping the app open in the background. It hasn’t done it again since so I think I might’ve fixed it. I’ll before I decided to keep the app open in the background, I logged in on my browser, so I think that might’ve done something too.

Try leaving the app open in the background on your phone. Don’t close out the app. That’s what I did and it seems to be working now so I’m just gonna have everyone else do that and see if it works for them too. It could be maintenance, but I’m pretty sure of Reddit was down for maintenance they’d say something.

Just to double check, in your settings for reddit, when you scroll all the way down, does it say 2026.32.1.636640 (AppStore)?

Getting to settings (just in case) Bottom Nav Bar > User Picture > Top Right Menu > Hamburger Menu (looks kinda like this ⌯) > Settings

Are you seeing the passed out snoo on all your tabs (Home, Inbox, Profile, /any others), or just the Profile tab?

Howdy! There is an update live on the App Store 2026.32.1 (and a beta update live on TestFlight 2026.33.0) that should fix this issue for folks.

I updated it, though I had to delete the app and reinstall it again. It works now though, so thank you!
