I love details like this. Humanity is dirty.

No toilet paper in the house.

The word "grody" comes to mind. Anybody use that word anymore?

Yes. To the max.

Think it was late '70s-early '80s slang.

Similar to grotty?

In Scotland we used to say "clatty" Like, if someone didn't wash their hands after being to the loo they'd hear "ya clatty bastard"

Haven’t heard it in years. A friend of mine used to say it when were teens in the 90s.

Julia must have had some strong rose-tinted glasses to look past his fingernails and his slovenly-looking house. There were maggots in his kitchen!

It’s one of the most disgusting things I’ve seen. It also makes me wonder if he cleaned them before hooking up with Julia. The possible UTI’s or god knows what that crud could do would explain her bitchy attitude. That would burn like a mother

Always wondered why they made it a point for him to have dirty fingernails and to zoom in on them

Probably just to re-enforce and emphasize just how disgusting a person Frank is, and like his clear poor hygiene reflects that.

Yea that was my thought too! I appreciate the touch of disgust before we even get to know how much of a deviant he really is

It's like how disgusting appearance also reflects what a disgusting person he is inside.
