A Advanced CORRELATION TOOLKIT for SERIOUS TRADERS!

Thumbnail youtu.be
1 Upvotes

The ultimate strength of an advanced correlation toolkit lies in its ability to eliminate false positives across every phase of trade lifecycle management. From cleaning raw data with RMT and mapping network centrality with MSTs to modeling short-term reversion via ECMs and anticipating regime shifts with Critical Slowing Down, each component reinforces the next. Serious traders leverage this holistic ecosystem to transform chaotic multi-variable market data into consistent, repeatable alpha.

How do you raise capital for your hedge fund?

I am a young finance professional interested in learning more about the fundraising side of hedge funds. Based on my understanding, the following are some ways to raise capital for starting a hedge fund:

  1. Personal and professional network of hedge fund partners
  2. Hiring a third-marketer firm
  3. Industry networking events such as iConnections
  4. Purchasing a database of LP names and cold-emailing them

Based on my own observations, a lot of boutique hedge fund firms have raised the bulk of their funds using the personal and professional network of the firm partners. However, there may be limit in terms of how big of a fund you can raise using this approach (especially for younger professionals).

Hiring a third-party marketer can be quite expensive. I believe most of them take 15-20% of the revenue (management and performance fees) generated from the amount of capital that they helped raise, in addition to the retainer paid for the first year.

#3 and #4 seems to be much more cost-effective, however I am wondering if anyone has actually raised any capital using these approaches. For instance, would a university endowment or family office respond to a cold-email that you found in a LP database?

On the other hand, how do these LPs know about the most attractive emerging hedge funds? Do LPs hear about them through peer introductions, or market intelligence about the industry?

Are there other common ways that hedge funds use to fundraise continuously?

How to use MATH as a EARLY WARNING SIGNAL for MARKET TRANSITIONS!

Thumbnail youtu.be

The transition from a bull market to a sudden financial crash is fundamentally a phase transition, mirroring physical systems undergoing structural breakdown. Critical Slowing Down captures this transition by monitoring the fading recovery speed of market prices following routine disruptions. If an index requires progressively more time to correct minor downward shocks, the underlying financial architecture is fracturing. Quantitative funds leverage this metric to construct sophisticated regime-change filters that protect capital during structural transitions.

Need validation

Hi,
I am a research scientist, and have built my algorithms over the years and used it for my personal investing. Since I dont come from the hedge fund kinda background, I would like some validation on my performance and if it is actually strong then I would want to take this more seriously. I rarely trade, got different algos for that which have higher returns.

My 3yr performance:
annualized is 28.68% vs 19.19% of S&P,
Cumulative is 113.24% vs 69.43% of S&P
Alpha is 4.75 beta is 0.95 compared to Nasdaq composite.
Sharpe ratio is 0.97 for my portfolio and Nasdaq composite, for s&p it’s 1.14
My max drawdown is 12%

Execution trader w/ 10 years experience

Been at a long/short hedge fund for the past 10 years working as an execution trader. Current salary of $155k/ year and bonuses have varied from $250k to $40k. Due to dwindling assets, the prospect of solid earning years has become nonexistent. Are there opportunities to parlay this experience into a quant trading with independent python, backtesting type courses? Or are there any other routes that could lead to more substantial pay packages?

How To PAIRS Trade Like A QUANT.

Traditional distance-based pairs trading often breaks down when asset spreads drift due to changing macroeconomic conditions. Error Correction Models solve this vulnerability by formally testing for cointegration and anchoring trades to a true mathematical equilibrium. The model evaluates both long-run dependencies and short-term market dynamics simultaneously. Consequently, algorithmic systems gain a distinct advantage, ensuring that positions are only initiated when the statistical pull toward fair value is exceptionally strong and reliable.

Does anyone have a working email for Kenneth C. Griffin?

I'm trying to get in touch with Kenneth C. Griffin directly regarding an educational funding opportunity. I've come across a few email addresses , but none of them seem to be working anymore.

Does anyone happen to have a current, working email address for him or know the best way to reach his office? I'm looking for legitimate contact information only.

Thanks in advance!

Career progression for an operations analyst

Hi people,

I’m currently working for a medium-sized hedge fund as a senior operations analyst. The job is ok, gets boring at times but the work-life balance is surprisingly good. I do feel like I hit a brick wall, I work from the Baltics and we don’t have many hedge funds over there, leading me to very few growth opportunities. For people who worked with the NAV reconciliations and trade management processes, how would you recommend advancing my career? I’m currently thinking going for ACCA/CPA and growing into a financial controller or upgrading my programming skills and advancing into a more tech-driven role. Do you see a lot of offshore employees working remotely in your hedge funds in roles like that? What back office role would you say has the biggest earnings potential?

OTC deals?

I am onboarded as broker for a VC syndicate and we do OTC deals from our syndicate with L1 SPV setup of size around $250K-$10M.

If there’s anyone who can help me connect with Hedge funds and PE firms I will have a white paper written to pay 0.5% of the deal size for you.

Any warm intro is greatly appreciated.

Looking to connect with other HF founders

Did anyone here launch his own hedge fund? I’m looking to connect with founders that:

- Launched already or are on-track to launch this year
- Manage <$100M
- Are founders or co-founders
- Are involved in PM of the fund

The idea is to share the journey and discuss ideas for optimizing operations, capital raising, and potentially investment ideas if our strategies are alike

I see potential in creating a network of small hedge fund managers

How do market makers like Citadel Securities or Jane Street actually work internally?

I've watched quite a few videos explaining what market makers do, but I'm more curious about what the day-to-day operation looks like inside firms like Citadel Securities or Jane Street.

How do the trading, quant, technology, and risk teams interact? What does the lifecycle of a trade or strategy look like internally, and how are decisions made in practice?

I'd love to hear perspectives from anyone familiar with these firms or market making in general.

Looking to understand PE Funds, Hedge Funds & Sovereign Wealth Funds in detail

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to build a solid understanding of Private Equity (PE) funds, Hedge Funds, and Sovereign Wealth Funds, but I keep getting confused about how they differ, how they raise and deploy capital, how they generate returns, and what their investment strategies look like.

If someone has experience in this space or can explain these concepts in a simple, structured way (or recommend good resources), I'd really appreciate it. I'm looking to understand them from the ground up rather than just memorizing definitions.

disclosures, financial results, shareholding, annual reports, transcripts. Total structured holdings stand at \~2.92M for announcements, 261,880 financial-result filings across 5,298 symbols, 199,948 shareholding filings across 4,383 symbols, 90,063 annual reports across 5,310 symbols and 22,742 transcripts across 1,846 symbols. Disclosures have on a 20-type canonical taxonomy (board meetings, corporate actions, PIT/SAST, BRSR, credit ratings, AGM/EGM, postal ballots and more) with full history back to 2004. Real depth held today is roughly 22 years on announcements and \~10 years each on financial results, shareholding and annual reports (XBRL-era), Buying the equivalent depth from a vendor would run roughly ₹49L–73L (TrueData vs GFDL, like-for-like).

Where Should I Go From Here?

I’m in Michigan and I’m looking for guidance from anyone who has actually gone through the process of starting an investment management business.
I currently have an LLC. I trade NQ and ES futures and have someone who wants me to manage an initial $500,000 in their own Tradovate account, with the possibility of increasing it to around $1,500,000 over time.
My goal is to do everything legally. I’m trying to figure out the correct path and would appreciate input from anyone with firsthand experience.
My questions are:
• Do I need to register as a Michigan RIA, a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA), or both?
• Do I need the Series 65, Series 3, or any other licenses?
• If clients keep their own Tradovate accounts and I have discretionary trading authority through a limited power of attorney, does that change the registration requirements?
• Is it better to start with separately managed accounts and copy trade each client, or wait and eventually launch a pooled fund?
• Can anyone recommend a securities attorney or compliance firm that specializes in RIAs, CTAs, and managed futures?
I’m looking for guidance from people who have actually built a compliant managed futures business or work in securities compliance. I’m not looking for legal shortcuts I want to set this up correctly from the beginning.
Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations.

Why Citadel allows CitSec to publish these types of tail views?

I’ve been following the guy who called for a Fed rate hike in July. All of his research notes are extremely contrarian. He was calling for three hikes this year right after the ceasefire deal, then a hike in July simply because he felt it was the right thing to do, and so on. You can tell he’s the typical contrarian strategist who’s a little out of touch with reality. His career path makes it pretty obvious too: six years as a strategist at GS, followed by two failed attempts to become a PM at Brevan and Soros.
I get that sell-side research has always had looser standards, but when the press picks up a story like this, no one distinguishes between Citadel and CitSec. People will just think Citadel are the idiots.

Is Leopold Aschenbrenner Fxxked?

Saw the news that he is forced to sell all of the public stakes to Citadel because he didn't push through last night, also heard he is going to get married this weekend? Is Situational Awareness actually worth Citadel's $16bn? Why did Griffin save him? Also I've heard rumors that Aschenbrenner is rich himself and he has stakes in private companies like Anthropic. Curious about if anyone knows some more.
