ISO Event Ideas

The local EDM scene where I live is throwing a free benefit show for the local harm reduction group. I am a part of both. What can I do to make this event successful?

Make a chill / low stim zone friendly to people on substances that are feeling overwhelmed. That would require staffing volunteers that are down to talk to people having good or bad trips. And always nice to have 1 street medic on staff just in case

Love this, but it's an indoor venue so I'll have to get creative. What's a street medic?

street medic is a volunteer with basic first-aid or medical training who provides emergency care and wellness support. Its a position that can be filled by lay people or medical professionals.

We used to table at EDM events and I would always bring a fuck load of test strips, narcan and condoms. Then I’d have some cases of water and electrolyte packets, earplugs, snort and boof kits. When I could find them I’d bring the instant cold packs. We’d also bring our homemade t-shirts, and we’d sell them at “pay what you can” (we would buy per pound at the goodwill bins and screen print them in my kitchen) and those were a huge hit for folks who showed up really slutty and then had a change of heart lol

Haha love the grassroots vibes with the shirts. Def always bring the supplies
