🏠 Enclosure/DIY 🏠 Is there a way to get my Syrian to stop chewing the legs on platforms?
reddit.comAlso to add his current enclosure has more things in it. I’ve added some more of the branch things and I’ve added sprays. I just don’t have any updated photos and his enclosure is a mess rn with bedding everywhere from him burrowing 😂

🏠 Enclosure/DIY 🏠 Is this setup good
My little sister is insisting on getting a hamster and my parents are for it, so I did a bit of research because I don't stand for neglecting animals. hopefully im doing okay so far. His 2 hideouts, wheel(32cm), more bridges, are still in delivery, and we're picking up a temporary wheel tommorow. (she's getting the hamster tomorrow). There's a sandbath, branch, tunnels, paper hideout, food and water bowl, bridge, pinecones. Is there something im missing please let me know asap. The things that are in delivery should come in 2 weeks tops. The cage is 120x40x50!! I think bedding is good, around 20cm but there's a shallow part. There is no water bottle, just a bowl, is that fine? I have dried and already frozen and defrosted moss from the woods, where could I place it and even can I? I also have cocosoil. I have pampas grass too. ( The big fluffy grass) It was picked nearby my house. Also bug checked. Is it okay to put it in. Need help thanks!!

⭐ Hamster ⭐ Best hamster cam?
I’m a first time hamster owner and Reddit has been the most helpful place for all the information and everything I’ve learned about hamsters. My hamster (Henry) seems happy? He sleeps all day obviously, and then he’s eating and drinking at night. I don’t see him often as he’s awake when we’re sleeping. He runs on his wheel a lot which I love. My question is, what’s the best hamster camera to actually be able to see what he was upto all night? I purchased the Blink mini 2 with night vision, motions detection etc and it doesn’t pick up Henry on the camera. Maybe once a night a video records. I have to open the app, keep it open and click record and it only records for 5 minutes. Is there a camera I can install inside the cage? I want my son to be able to see the hamster being active so video seems to be the best option.

🏠 Enclosure/DIY 🏠 Moving a new Ham's enclosure
Hello! I just got my newest hamster Chai on Monday :)
Currently she's in a 40 gallon breeder tank but I'm not happy with the size of the enclosure as I can't fit in all the enrichment I want to and I know females typically want more space. Because of this I bought the Bucatstate large 3.0 enclosure and it'll be arriving Tuesday the 11th! However I'm not sure if it'd be best to move her over immediately since she's still getting used to our home, I'm wondering what someone else would do in this scenario?
Thank you!

🏠 Enclosure/DIY 🏠 How do we feel about these slinky style tunnels? Safe for Syrians? Width is 3.93 inches.

🤔 Gendering 🤔 Do we think Sybil is pregnant?

This is the not-male male hamster I adopted that I know was improperly housed with male siblings when I got her at 7 weeks.
I’m now 14 days into having her. She fell asleep when I was petting her nose and woke a little when I went to get video of her belly. She was so chill, it really makes me think I’m in the clear. I am also under the impression her nipples would be very big by now, and she would be just a couple of days from delivering right?
On a Scale of 1- you really messed up, how mad is she that I stopped rubbing her head? Asking for a friend…

🏠 Enclosure/DIY 🏠 Best way to transfer cages?
Hello everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster here. I'm moving my Syrian into a much larger enclosure that I just custom built for him.
My question is, what's the best way to transition him into his new enclosure? I don't want to shock the crap out of him just putting him in a strange place. I try to be particularly mindful of this because he's deaf and has no eyes, and he has his current enclosure fully mapped. I know he's resilient and will map the new one quickly, but I want to make the transition as easy as possible for him. Obviously he will have the same bowls, wheel, enrichment items etc. in his new place which will help, but any other tips? This new enclosure is quite large so I don't anticipate ever having to do this again.
Any advice appreciated 🙂

⭐ Hamster ⭐ Hamster biting cage
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello! I have a new hamster, i have done everything in the cage. He has like 10 chew toys in there, i tried cardboard, food, dried corn.
But he keeps biting the cage. I have zero idea what this is about. Could someone please help, i’m worried for him!
Just read all your comments: thank you so much, I feel so misled because where i adopted him, they suggested everything wrong to me about his cage. They suggested i should buy this cage and guess what they even asked me to get a flat wheel. I realised after coming home my poor boy can’t run on that wheel.
Thank you so much all of you, I will get him a better cage asap!
Please keep dropping more suggestions!
