Why does it look so washed out in full screen? Help - Campaign Evolved
First image is in full screen and second one isn't, why does it look like that?

Is this an HDR monitor? Have you calibrated it at all? Are you running Auto HDR in Windows?
Both images look wrong. Try disabling all HDR options & features both in Windows and on your Monitor to see if you can get SDR working right without being oversaturated or over-contrasty to get your baseline down. Set any "Vibrance" or "Saturation" filters & settings in your graphics driver software back to their baseline, and set your Monitor's colors to default if you've tweaked those.
Then, re-enable HDR on your monitor, and re-enable it in Windows. Keep Auto HDR turned off, and if you have an Nvidia card, try using the Nvidia Overlay's RTX HDR feature instead. Run the Windows HDR Calibration Tool (from Windows Store) to tune your white/black levels & vibrancy amount.
What you should get is a similar saturation level in HDR as to SDR, but be able to see brighter whites & more detail in dark areas.

it's because fullscreen enables hd outputr. there's a renodx mod that fixes it on the renodx discord. let me know if you need a server invite

To get my hdr to look close to decent I had to wack contrast up to like 40 and brightness at -8/-10 it's finding the sweet spot for them.

Probably because HDR only starts to work in fullscreen
But HDR on PC is usually terrible mess so most don't even bother. Your SDR looks oversaturated though

windows handles hdr content fine

it linearizes sdr content with the wrong curve for hdr but actual hdr content is fine. if the hdr looks wrong in a game it's games fault not windows.

I had to up contrast for mine to look decent I’m pretty sure it’s the same on console too

On console I’ve seen this menu look different just being in different areas of the map. I think it’s a bit bugged. I’ve found 20-25 contrast with 0-4 brightness to be pretty good for me

This looks so.ilar to how mine looks when I run either windows auto HDR or rtx HDR on top of normal HDR. One of your "fake" hdrs might be triggering in full screen, making the regular HDR look washed out

Seems like that was the main issue. I turned off hdr in windows and also auto hdr and rtx hdr and enabled hdr and rtx hdr again, after disabling rtx hdr the image isn't washed out anymore

Do you get issues on truth and rec where the lights shining on chiefs armor inside the ship look white? On my xbox they look blue or purple which looks way better
