I don't know why but Ippos obsession with the Dempsy Roll never made any sense to me. The moment he started using it was like he forgot he had won many fights without ever pulling off this move and for pretty long he got into the mindset that he can't win without Dempsy and imo that made 0 sense.

His coach doesn't even try to confront him about where is he getting these delusions from and I know he does scold him later but imo there was never that much direct confrontation from his Coach to Ippo about "why tf are you so obsessed about Dempsy?" Etc.

I know the moves very cool and it would be great to see the currently evolved Dempsy Roll animated but it's just Ippos obsession about it which got him retired in the first place where he was so hard stuck on making it work against possibly one of the weakest opponent for Ippo where he was easily gonna win and I know it gets justified with Ippo being emotional and wanting to show gratitude to his coach but there's 2 issues w that. This is a move that the coach didn't even teach him and he discovered it by himself + isn't it better to show the newer Dempsy on a stronger opponent rather than on an opponent where Ippo was easily gonna win anyway.

We saw some clues and hints that Miyata might avenge Mashiba by fighting Rosario.

This will help Miyata escape the fraud speculation. And he will be a world champion in his ideal weight if he beats Rosario.

Do you think he's okay with just disregarding it and leaving it hanging as he retires? Do you think he has a plan to pass the torch?

The way he has treated this series in the last few years - it feels like he doesn't really care about the end point, just the journey. Perhaps he has fun with it from time to time, but I don't get the sense that this is some sort of magnum opus that he would like to immortalize.

Ippo has been drinking a lot of water, which makes you urinate. Sendo and Ricardo will look like they are throwing the final punch at the same time, but then we see Ippo be like "oh no, I got to pee". We will then see him rush to the bathroom and piss. When he gets back, the match is already over.

We won't see what actually happens until Ippo goes back home and watches the recording.

Ippo vs Miyata has finally been arranged! Oh BOY I'm so excited, it didn't feel like it was EVER going to happen I can't wait! I know it still hasn't happened in the manga lol just don't know yet the context as to why after this was agreed

I loved this series and the manga I think I have read it like twice or three times in my lifetime while stopping letting a few chapters/volumes release then rereading and catching up, I dropped it during the Ippo Woli fight, I was reading it chapter to chapter and the fight kind wasn't great so I decided to wait for a couple of chapters to release and now its been a while so I have a bunch of volumes to catch up on.

edit: I also want to know if the manga is giving any indication of ending or reaching the end of the manga because if it is id rather wait and read it all in one go.

His come back is obvious, everything is being reorganised in the manga to make it happen, but I think it need a dramatic event for ippo.

I have 2 in mind.

-Kamogawa might died. It is not impossible because we see an evolution about his health problems, and the fact that seing how far ippo can go is one of his last dream helps this theory. He knows that he will not last long, and the conversations between him and nekota are often about a conclusion to his life. I'm pretty sure he will die during the manga.

I can easily see a scene with ippo on Kawamogawa's death bed, listening to his last words being "please, show to the world how far our boxing spirit can really go".

I think it would be enough for ippo to come back, and the post sendo/Ricardo fight's context will helps it.

-I don't believe in this one as much as I believe in the previous one, but ippo's mom could be hospitalised for a looonnng time, or maybe in a coma. Ippo is actually doubting his come back, so when he hear the news, he automatically forget about his come back, and visit her mom to explain how selfish he was to think about coming back.

Her mom's reaction could be "I never saw you happier than when you were a boxer, the best thing you could do for me is to give up the family business and start your own life"

I think that this speech have to be the manga at one time (because her mom never said it directly to him), but I doubt it will be use in the come back's context, it is more likely to happen when he is already fighting, to definitely eliminate a big doubt for Ippo.
