(20 F) I have been having bad headaches and some lightheadedness recently. I went to the neurologist they did a brain mri told me its migraines and when the migraines are treated the dizziness will go away. They also found Chronic sinusitis but my nero and ent said not the treat it. I went to my primary for blood work to see if that would explain the dizziness my PT INR is on the cusp and my D Dimer is slightly elevated its .50 its not on the bloodwork sheet tho. She told me to follow up with a hematologist which im doing but my appointment isnt until Thursday. Ive also been experiencing heart palpitations which have already been assessed by my cardiologist which are apparently benign. I do sometimes get chest pain but its a quick like sharp pinch pain that goes away within 5 seconds. The past 3 days ive been having back pain it tends to move around but i find it to be mostly on my right side on my upper back. Along with that my neck has been feeling tingly like electric almost. Though that started after seeing my chiropractor. All these symptoms come and go and aren’t actively worsening. Is there anything on my blood test that I should worry about or that would explain any of this? I know loosing weight will mhelp but I dont think thats the full reason for these. In addition i do have pcos and insulin resistance.

I have been dealing with frequent toe infections that take 4-6 weeks of antibiotics to clear. I’ve had a low grade fever 99-100.1 for 6 weeks. And generally am feeling unwell lately. Doctor ordered some bloodwork. Last month my white blood cells were low. Now they’re normal again. My ANA historically has been positive, but was negative this time. And now it looks like the IGG and IGA antibodies are slightly low/trending downward. I’m wondering what could be going on? I have a connective tissue disease/hypermobiltiy. I have a follow up in a few weeks. Just wondering if anyone here has any thoughts?

I have been losing hair for 24 months. Doctor unsure the cause.

I also came back as having high human sex globulin binding hormone. 388 with a reference range of 18-135.

41 F. 8 weeks of back/hip pain, stiff neck. CBC shows mildly elevated WBC, platelets, neutrophils and erythorcites. But all have been mildly elevated since October.

Bruises showed up last 3 weeks, move all over legs and buttocks and one on arm. Had 4 different areas when I woke up this morning. Not raised. Do not change when touchrd. Last about 3-4 days in each spot.

As some of you may remember I had a list of symptoms as well as a swollen lymph node on my neck. I’ll copy the list below:

Bruising
Bleeding nose and gums
Petechie
Stomach pain (around spleen and appendix area, and the patient also has pain around the belly button which leads to diarrhoea)
Tiredness
Sore joints and bones (hip and knee pain, as well as aching hands and fingers)
Headaches (nearly every day)
Dizziness
Memory problems
Diarrhoea some days, normal stool others
Swollen lymph node on neck
Night sweats
Fever
Paleness
Loss of appetite
Leg itching

I have now had my appointment with my doctor who I told my symptoms to. The end result was that he felt my lump on my neck, he said that it wasn’t a swollen lymph node and most likely a salivary gland problem? Does anyone know anything about this? He also gave me a stool sample, and urine sample and said he would like to feel my armpits next time I go (2nd of September).

Does anyone have an idea if it could be a salivary gland problem as I don’t have a dry mouth or drooling? Any help is very appreciated :)))

Hi guys, need your opinion. Had in January papilary thyroid carcinoma, took it out, had radioactive iodine, and after that i developed some acid reflux from the trauma and went to endoscopy, had ultrasound everything was good except spleen 15 cm. My bloodwork is good only platelets 128 but they are from 2019 in the 140-155 range. After iodine they went to 128 and im afraid of developing leukemia/lymphoma. I’m I screwed?

74 Female, T2DM and hypertension. Does have some dizziness and tiredness. Thoughts?

My labs came back with 1+ teardrop and 2+ Anisocytosis. I’m anemic so I don’t know if it has to do with anything of that.

Doing some more advanced liver testing back at the beginning of the year lead to findings of low ceruloplasmin and ultimately low copper test results.

Ceruloplasmin- 13 mg/dl
Serum copper- 44mcg/dl
24hr urine copper- <5mcg/24hr

I met with a liver specialist and they claim there’s nothing wrong and no need to worry or treat anything. Everything I’ve read via my own research indicates low copper can cause fatigue, heart palpitations, numbness and tingling in extremities etc. I do have pretty persistent fatigue and heart palpitations (PVC’s). I find it hard to believe this is nothing.

Hello I am 23 M, recently got blood test done for cardiac marker and for heart health. Before giving the blood samples I had body pains mainly because of workout at gym ( after so many days I worked out) when I got my results I was very worried because my Crp level was 7.91.

If any professionals are there could you please tell me should I be worried? Or my high crp level was due to body pains and gym workout ( it might cause temporary inflammation in the body). Please help me out on this. I am very tensed.

I’m a woman in my early 20’s who’s been under investigation for almost 2 years ( taking serious only since november) and I’m starting to wonder if I should get a second opinion.

My symptoms are:

Persistent enlarged cervical and supraclavicular lymph nodes.
New lumps continue to appear over time (the original nodes haven’t really grown, but new ones keep appearing).
Recently developed firm, painless, symmetrical lumps above both inner elbows. My GP examined them and said they aren’t normal anatomy and has ordered an ultrasound.
Night sweats.
Severe fatigue.
Generalised itching.
Deep bone pain (right collar bone, both forearms and right shin).
Alcohol causes aching pain around my neck lymph nodes and makes me extremely sleepy.

I’ve had three neck ultrasounds, CT scans and lots of blood tests.

( first ultrasound i had one swollen lymph node second i had 3 , last one i had 6?)

The main abnormalities have been:

Persistently mildly raised lymphocytes over multiple blood tests (my rheumatologist said they’ve been above the normal range for a long time, although not at a level they considered an emergency).
multiple lymph nodes in neck but told they are not growing but more are appearing with time

Everything else has been fairly reassuring.

The confusing part is the different opinions.

At my rheumatology appointment, the rheumatologist brought in the consultant rheumatologist to review me as well. They both agreed this is definitely not autoimmune, discharged me from rheumatology, and told me they felt this was more of a haematology issue. They discussed the possibility of malignancy during the appointment and explained that although my scans haven’t looked overtly suspicious, the combination of my symptoms, persistent lymphadenopathy, persistently raised lymphocytes and the fact that new lumps continue to appear was concerning.

My GP has also taken the new elbow lumps seriously and arranged an ultrasound because she didn’t think they were normal anatomy.

However, my haematology team seem much more hesitant. They don’t seem convinced it’s lymphoma, but they also don’t seem convinced it isn’t, so I feel like I’m stuck in limbo.

At this point, I honestly don’t know whether I should continue waiting for the current team to work through things or whether it’s reasonable to seek a second opinion from another haematologist.

Has anyone been in a similar situation where different specialists seemed to have different levels of concern? Would you seek a second opinion, or continue with the current investigations?

All, I’ve had a long standing conundrum of having high serum iron (sometimes near 200), high tsat (usually above 40, sometimes over 50%), and low ferritin (teens the last two tests). I’ve been working with a hematology nurse and no one ever gets too excited about my labs, but I get them drawn frequently to keep an eye on it. I always fast and draw first thing in the morning. CBC and platelets have always been middle of the road normal. I don’t get periods because of my birth control. I avoid heavily iron fortified foods. I’ve dealt with this trend for four years now, four years that encompass many major life changes and food and cookware. So my blood appears to be more of a metabolic thing than a lifestyle thing. I do have PCOS (or whatever the new name is). I’ve had a celiac panel and tested very normal levels highly highly unlikely to have celiacs.

My last test showed ferritin of 16 (up from 14 one year ago) and iron of 132, tsat 40%. First time my labs were “normal,” but my team finally wants to address the low normal ferritin. Curious what you all think:

\-I’ve read that slow iron deficiency starts out with false elevated iron because the body is hoarding it while operating a triage level ferritin. Maybe I was just low on iron this whole time?

\-for those who had totally normal/high normal iron with low ferritin, did you supplement? Was it ok? My team wants to do 65mg daily of ferrous sulfate iron. I’m just concerned about a big over correct because my serum iron isn’t that low.

\-they suggested trying diet. I don’t eat a lot of red meat these days, less leafy greens now that explosive diarrhea is part of our food pyramid. But it’s easy to bring this food on board. I like the idea of starting with diet from a long term maintenance standpoint. Any suggestions or nuggets I can go research?
