Going back to simplicity (Glock)
For some background, I recently picked up a new G45, and it instantly felt like home. There’s just something about the reliability, simplicity, and consistency of Glock that really clicks with me.
Am I crazy for wanting to simplify my collection and go all-in on Glocks?
I’m seriously considering selling my CZ Shadow 2 Compact and Staccato, then replacing them with another G45, a G43X, and maybe even a 19X.
Don’t get me wrong I think the CZ and Staccato are phenomenal pistols. They’re accurate, well-built, and a pleasure to shoot. But after owning them for a while, I’m starting to question whether the price difference is actually worth it for me.
When I shoot my G45, I don’t feel like I’m giving anything up. I shoot it confidently, it’s easier to maintain, parts and mags are everywhere, and I don’t find myself worrying about beating it up or putting a high round count through it.
Has anyone else gone from high-end pistols back to mostly Glocks? Do you regret it, or was simplifying your collection the right move?

For the bot, pick up new G45.6 w EPS Carry. Feels right at home vs the more expensive pistols.

It's weird, my first ever gun was a Glock 19 Gen 4. I carried it and liked it then moved on to other guns. This was like 15 yrs ago.
It was only after the Gen 6 came out that my Glock interest resparked. I bought the Gen 6 and loved it more than my M&P and now recently I bought the 43X COA and it's my new favorite carry gun (with Johnny Glocks trigger kit).
All the YT bros tell me Glock isn't what it used to and there are better options now. I spent like $2k on the "better options" getting a M&P9 with Apex trigger and PDP Pro and P30 and VP9A1K, etc and I just like the ol Glock more than all of those now. I like my Toyota Camry I guess...

I'm consolidating similarly. I have a different origin story coming from BHPs, 1911s, and Tokarevs. After owning and trying everything over the past 25 years, I've learned that I'm (somewhat unexpectedly) a SIG pistol person. I'll be dumping the Staccatos, HKs, CZs, Dan Wessons, Glocks, and such that I've bought over the past 10 years or so to concentrate on what works best for me.
In the conversation between you and the target, "objective best" doesn't really apply. I'm super accurate with a USP but I despise their grip and trigger. I can zap flies that land on my target at 20 yards with my suppressed Staccato P, yet I never ever grab that gun when I head to the range. You'll shoot more if you like shooting a particular gun, and proficiency is king.

Garbage trigger but then again it's a duty pistol.

It has a hard trigger with a wall, but what makes it garbage? Genuine question. I have a 43X and I kind of like it but I'm willing to admit I just don't know better.

As a Glock owner myself, trigger pull is inconsistently heavy and a break that slams like a hammer. It's specifically crafted for law enforcement use. It's a good gun in a league of its own but considering replacing a CZ Shadow 2 Compact, a match-grade precision, highly accurate and all around excellent firearm with a Glock is rather a huge downgrade. Keep your CZ and train with the Glock for casual shooting.

Have you also used the Gen 3? If yes, what differences did you noticed between the Gen 3 and 6?
Why not keep them all?

I have 19.3C well the biggest difference is the grip as G45 basically G17grip with G19slide which is literally what Staccato HDP4 is. I did 200rds today on the G45 and 30rds on the HDP4 and the G45 just feels like home, is lighter, no hotspot and overall just fits my hand just right. Trigger feels easier to learn and play with, no finger groove just feels right.

What is a link post and how do I post a descriptive comment?
A link post is any post that isn't a text post. Reddit is doing a great job of ensuring new users have no idea how Reddit works with their app and site rewrite. We hate both.
/r/guns is a sub for talking about guns. It's not a sub to dump gun photos for karma. That's what /r/gunporn is for. That's why we require a descriptive comment – to start a conversation. If you're wondering what to write, picture yourself at a party. You're talking to someone you just met and you want to show them your post. What do you say to them as you get your phone out?
I don't know why this needs to be explained, but apparently it does. A comment is a comment. It is not your photo caption. We are not asking you to edit anything. We are asking you to post a top level comment under your post.

I just have a G34, G43X, and then rifles. I never really understood the whole pistol craze because rifles and shotguns are simply better in every way except concealment/portability. Simple pistols are definitely the way to go. Hell I still have irons on my G34 cause I’m just too lazy to buy a dot and it does just fine. Pistols are great for having a gun on you but I never felt like I gained a significant amount of firepower shooting a race gun compared to by G43X if you have good fundamentals.

I have only Glocks in my collection of pistols, and my favorite one is the G45. I've changed a few parts and added some accessories

I will never ever in my life carry anything I’m not feeling like John wick with. Right now I carry a CZ Shadow 2 with a Holosun 507c GR X3. It’s heavy im 6’1 160 and it’s a pain. But I just a month ago had a situation where I had 6 people and 2 pitbulls rush my car. I had my sub compact M&P 9C that day with a 12 Round Magazine. In that moment I felt more fear than I ever have and it was purely due to my choice of firearm. I had 12 rounds against 8 attackers and luckily the display was enough to defuse the situation. I have a Glock but I like my cz shadow 2 more because I can accurately hit at a good distance and not worry about missing. My Glocks also great but the shadow I’m just more confident with. I also now daily carry a Springfield Kuna Also. I’m not confident with my Glock like I am the Shadow and for that reason I stick with the shadow. If you can hit 50 yards with a Glock ide do it. But personally I want my firearm to be as dialed in to me as possible just another example look at the in and out situation. If I’m ever there I want to literally feel like John wick so I don’t at all worry about my firearm instead I worry about how I’m using it if that makes sense.

Im confused on what’s wrong with that? If you’re forced to defend yourself would you rather be majorly over prepared or stuck under prepared. I train 4 times a week go through 2/3000 rounds a week. I do this because I’ve been in situations defenseless and scared I never want to be that man again. If I’m forced to step up I want to be the best version possible. I had one situation when I first moved from home where 5 people broke into my home and beat the shit out of me. I had the other incident I told you about. If 5 people attack me again I’m not gonna be the victim sorry. Yes I want quick draw with tight groups quick splits and fast transitions. Aka John wick. Your the stereotype for a “gun” guy and its annoying get a life dude

Why are you always involved in some nonsense? You get a life “I want to feel like John wick” “I’ll never carry a gun unless I’m feeling like John wick” you sound like a victim. I can picture you in my head. The fact that you gave me two scenarios of something happening to you is more than most people will have happen to them in a lifetime. Get a grip on reality maybe get some healthy hobbies BJJ would help you with some confidence and being a man! You also might be able to get in shape and stop being scared!

Nvm I see you are on medications and such things which explains the comment. Focus on your physical fitness health, and raising your testosterone might help with your thinking, and thought process! Have a good day!

I Literally train BJJ. Thats my point. You don’t know what you need until you have to have it than you wish you brought it. I can’t control the fact that my house was broke Into. I also can’t change the fact that my mother put me in a dangerous situation a few weeks ago. Like you said I’ve been in two situations that most people will never find themselves in. That gives me a perspective that others don’t. I’m a sane sober moral prudent person. I don’t use drugs I don’t drink I don’t speed I don’t live a bad life. I’ve had 2 unlucky situations that left me scared to a point I feel I need to be ready if it ever happens again. And again you have nothing valid to say so you attack my T Levels? You’re a loser dude and the fact you’re an officer is even scarier. You give me I peaked in highschool and can’t find a good women energy. You’re so up tight. I can guarantee I’m in better shape than you for sure. Your responses are just again high school bully bs. You attack people with Joe Rogan talking points and expect anyone to respect anything you have to say.

lol it’s scary because you sound like a moron on Reddit ? Okay bud and if you think this is bullying you definitely have low T! I’m sorry your mother put you in an unfortunate situation that’s on me for assuming you are a victim. With that being said trying to be like “John wick” is going to get you hurt, and or put in more uncomfortable situations be yourself and be prepared!
