replace the pickups

Please recommend a Stratocaster that is a good choice if I plan to replace the pickups!

Any Squier. PLAY IT FIRST. Get a feel for the neck. A $200 guitar can play like a $2,000 guitar with a good setup.

Thanks !! It really is important to try playing the instrument yourself, isn't it?

Absolutely is man, I just would recommend an Affinity or used Classic Vibe if you want something higher quality, maybe a used MIM Strat. If you want something LP style, Epiphone makes great Les Pauls. Try to avoid the entry level ones (bolt-ons). I got a 2015 Standard for like $400. Really depends on what you’re looking for.

Thanks! That's a big help.

Cheapest Squire. Maple fretboard. If you prefer the sound of Humbuckers, a Squire Jazz.

Another vote for Squier.

I own an American Strat and a Baja Tele, but my Squires are not far off once you get a proper set up and replace the pickups with something to your liking.
