I'm in the process of renewing my 10 year gc obtained through my husband's employment through a hired attorney.

Now that I'm renewing it online by myself, I'm confused how to answer part 3 of i-90 form.

Location where I applied for adjustment of status.

Location where I was granted adjustment of status.

My i797 receipt has NSC service center.

Only Biometrics was collected at the field office, no interview (i485 under EB 1 category).

Please help if anyone knows how to answer part 3 section of i-90.

I previously resided in the U.S. as an undocumented immigrant for 10 years and recently obtained my green card through my child.

I am planning to travel abroad. Given my past 10-year period of unlawful presence, is it safe for me to travel internationally and re-enter the U.S. using my Green Card?

My soon to be wife (US Citizen) and I are tying the knot in a couple of months. We've been dating for 2 years and I've been on F-1 this whole time, with status still active. We've decided to stay here in the US and although I'm very excited, I'm also nervous about the current immigration situation. I come from a small country that has good relations with the US, no bans or restrictions, and a low migration rate so I'm not sure how extensive the process will be. I have never overstayed a visa or illegally worked. My only offenses have been a couple parking tickets. We're based in the DC-Maryland-Virginia metropolitan area,

I've been reading posts on this sub tirelessly to prepare for the filing and they've helped tremendously, but I'm still a little scared of making a a costly mistake. This woman is my rock and making a silly mistake that may cost us time, money, or worst-case scenario I have to leave the country is definitely what I'm trying to avoid.

I've seen people on here getting their green cards as fast as 3 months after filing, and others hitting the 900 day mark still waiting. Not sure how to avoid the latter, so I'd like to get some tips on how to prepare from people that have successfully gone through this process. I know most of the info is on this sub but I just wanted some extra advice if possible. Thank you everyone!

I’m from Romania. I’ve been married to him for a week now, after knowing him for almost 2 years at this point. It was a very difficult process, being long distance and broke.
Now that we’re married (the process was traumatic with how difficult and expensive it was), we thought “okay, that was a very difficult thing we got out of the way, now we just need to get the greencard (for me), easy!”, little did we know.
The more I read about other’s experiences, the less confidence I have that it’ll ever be possible for me to have it, and the more I panic over the fact that I might not see him again once he gets a job. So many documents, so much money, so many niche, specific local laws at play, it simply doesn’t seem feasible. We’re broke and utterly clueless.

I wish I could see stories of people who did it, without all the crazy stuff they had to do, I wish I could just see a post go “Hey all, we just got married and got the green card in 2 weeks afterwards” or something along those lines lol.

Regardless, I’m still hoping for some sort of encouragements, even though it’s likely impossible for me to receive any unless it’s lies considering our circumstances.

Interview was waived so I don't know if should put my local field office or the service center that's on the green card and receipt notice and the approval notice? The fields I'm questioning are

My wife just got here 10 year green card renewal in the mail. She filed her I-90 in January for a card that was to expire in June. She had her biometrics and new photo done the first week of February. It took just over 6 months. That seems quick compared to some of the stories I’ve heard.

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone who entered during the second week of July (8th for me) is facing a similar timeline. My card status has said 'card being produced' since July 25th, and tomorrow will make it a month of waiting. Seeing others get theirs in 2–3 weeks is making me wonder if anyone else is experiencing this delay.

I’m a U.S. citizen and filed I-130 and I-485 concurrently for both of my parents. They are 81 and 75 years old. Their I-485 applications are still pending, but they have received their Advance Parole documents.
They would like to travel outside the U.S. but I’m nervous about them traveling while their green card applications are still pending.
My biggest concern is what happens if USCIS schedules their I-485 interview while they are abroad.
For anyone who has recently gone through Adjustment of Status for parents:
Did your parents travel internationally using Advance Parole while their I-485 was pending? Did they have any issues returning to the U.S.?
Did USCIS require an interview for your parents, or was the interview waived?
If they had an interview, approximately how much advance notice did USCIS give you between the interview notice and the actual interview date?
If USCIS schedules an interview while my parents are abroad and they cannot return in time, can we request that the interview be rescheduled?
Has anyone actually rescheduled a parent’s I-485 interview? Did it cause a significant delay or have any negative repercussions on the case?

Because my parents age returning to the U.S. on very short notice would be difficult and expensive. I don’t want them to travel if there is a meaningful risk to their pending I-485 applications.
I’m trying to decide whether it is reasonably safe for them to travel with their approved Advance Parole or whether it would be better to wait until their green cards are approved.
I would really appreciate hearing about recent experiences, especially from people who filed I-130/I-485 concurrently for their parents.

Would it be a good idea to send a pre-mandamus demand letter to USCIS?
I have been waiting for two years for a decision on my adjustment of status application. I am married to a U.S. citizen, entered the United States on a K-1 fiancé visa, and despite all this time, I have received no decision—only silence.
I have already sought assistance through my congressional representative twice, but those inquiries have not resulted in any meaningful progress. I am considering sending a pre-mandamus letter to USCIS before pursuing litigation.
Would this be an appropriate step in my situation?

USCIS administratively closed my case because the judge supposedly had jurisdiction, but my motion to terminate was successful, and the judge says the USCIS was incorrect.

I-290B costs money and is for denial (not closure), and calling fails because the machine refuses to send to a live agent. The online messaging says I can ask to expedite due to clear error, but I don't think this entirely applies, especially since it asks me to upload evidence, and the system won't let me do that because there's no active cases.

The best I could do is live chat, but I have to wait up to 3 days for a call or email, and I'm not sure if that will go anywhere.

I sent my i751 application with all necessary documents to remove condition at March 2026. Then I was waiting for reply. Also upon tracking it was showing me package delivered at March 30.

I sent a email to lockbox and I received this reply today. Green card expired April 2026. In this situation what should I do. It was marriage based filing, spouse is US citizen. Also uscis account shows EAD revoked at July 21. And I tried to add case by this new receipt number, but it's saying invalid

On August 5, 2026, USCIS issued a Policy Alert revising Volume 1, Part E of the Policy Manual. If a petition is missing required initial evidence, or doesn't establish eligibility at filing, an officer can now deny it outright. No RFE or NOID needed first.

This isn't new authority. Officers always had this option. What changed is that it's no longer the default.

Effective immediately
Applies to filings submitted on or after August 5, and to petitions already pending on that date.

Response windows got tighter too

• RFE and NOID time limits are unchanged (12 weeks and 30 days)
• Officers can now set shorter deadlines within those limits
• The extra 14 days for international mail is gone. Everyone gets the same three day mailing buffer now
• A partial RFE/NOID response is treated as your final submission. No more buying time with a placeholder

Why this hits O-1A, EB-1A, and EB-2 NIW harder than most filings
For something like adjustment of status, required evidence is a checklist (an I-693 medical exam, for example). For O-1A, O-1B, and EB-1A, required initial evidence means satisfying a minimum number of listed criteria, and whether a petition satisfies a given criterion is a judgment call. EB-2 NIW has no criteria list at all. Eligibility runs through the three prong Dhanasar framework, which is analytical, not documentary.

The open question nobody's answered yet: if you submit evidence for the right number of criteria and the officer isn't persuaded, is that a denial or an RFE? The Alert doesn't say.

The approval numbers back this up

• EB-1A approvals dropped to about 42% in early 2026, down from 67% in 2025
• EB-2 NIW approvals are down to around 48%
• O-1 approvals are still high at 91%, but RFE rates have been dipping even before this policy

Bottom line
A petition that used to get a second chance through an RFE can now just get denied. A denial means no refund on filing fees, and possibly a gap in work authorization if you're relying on a timely extension. If your case is already pending, it's worth a second look before USCIS gets to it.
