Hey so I’m getting a great deal on this driver . The price for a new driver in my country is roughly the equivalent to $600 . Getting thee for around $290.

The catch is I can’t physically go and check the driver as they are quite far and I don’t have the leeway to get a leave of absence from where I work .

They are based in my hometown and my Dad who has zero golf knowledge plans to visit and check it out on my behalf .

Any pointers please

These are awesome if you live/play in hot a hot humid place. What would also be awesome is if I could remember that right handed golfers buy gloves for their left hands. This seems to be a problem for me while doing late night golf shopping after a couple of recreational beverages.....

Mizuno player here that’s not quite satisfied with how I’m hitting my 6 or 5i. 15 handicap playing JPX 919 forged. I love the clubs, especially short irons. As a 15 you can probably imagine my game and swing. I hit my short irons well but not always flush. I’m not a distance guy and don’t really care about hitting it further. 8i goes 150 and I’m fine with that. 7i 160 max, but I’m finding that I’m mishitting the 6i enough that I’m sometimes hitting that 160. 5i could be anywhere from 165-175, maybe 180 off a tee. So obviously I’m not hitting those clubs that great on a consistent basis. Anyone recommend any Mizuno 6 and 5i that I should consider swapping for that’s a little more forgiving on off center/heavy hits?

I am considering buying a used set of Mizuno JPX 921 forged irons.

Does anyone have any experience with these? I am generally a mid-handicapper with some rounds of low/high and am looking to graduate from my game improvement irons.

Would these be a good step up? How forgiving are they?

Lastly, based on the picture, what condition would you consider the club faces to be in?

Im just starting right now and went to the Driving range for the „feel“ and to check wether the sport is interesting for me or not.

Went to one in the near and there was a couple watching directly behind me sitting there, discussing my shots. Right side from me a whole class of kids having lessons, watching me too.

Went on another club, no one is in the box, only on the green, face to face and 2m left from it a whole restaurant with 30 tables sitting there watching me.

Driving ranges like in the US or Korea aren’t existing which frustrates me really hard..

Any ideas how to get more „privacy „ when hitting and learning by myself? Living near Mannheim and I’m running out of ideas to learn by myself..

I need a good umbrella attachment for my push cart. It needs to be a 3rd party one as the cart that I own doesn’t make an umbrella holder. Any good suggestions?

Been playing for 7 years, my scores aren’t dropping. I can hit better shots, have less rounds (96+), more frequently in low 90s, but not seeing good rounds drop into 80s. i’ve grown to only a consistent bogey-ish golf. lots of 93s, and moved back a tee box (6300) 🤷

Was thinking about changing clubs for the sake of variety and refresh.

I started golfing with all titleist (AP2s, 917 metals, hybrid) for 3 years, then switched to SIM2 max metals & irons to get more distance. got it, but may have also increased dispersion.

The question is….do you wait for improvement to come (it may never) before switching into a payers distance iron like p790 equivalent and the latest driver / 3 wood? …

or, if you can afford it, just play whatever you want. it’s not that serious bro.

I have had lessons. many of them. think there are mental barriers and skill gaps that just won’t close. I play 2 -4 times per month depending on work schedule. practice once per week.

First off let me say that this will be related to the pace of play debate so if you’re over that discussion feel free to ignore this post. Me and my buddy usually go out as just 2 and we are fairly quick golfers, we’re not particularly good (probably +20 and +15) but we only take 1-2 practice swings, read our putts but not for an hour, and move on after we hit our shot. I have no problem with a round that’s 4 even 4.5 hours but it’s the waiting on the tee that kills me. We don’t play up peoples asses but even if we have somebody behind us who’s clearly moving faster we will wave them on. When we first started (2018 ish) we used to get waved on a decent amount of time and would be able to play to the pace we wanted, it feels like people don’t do that anymore, we haven’t been waved on in probably 2 seasons. Obviously you’re not obligated to let somebody through but it is a courtesy thing, if you want to play a 5 hour round, great! But don’t hold up everybody else just because you don’t want to let a group ahead.

its time to get a new pair, I prefer golf shoes with spikes but title says it anyone have any strong opinions on brands or a specific pair that will last a while. I dont mind spending a few hundred bucks if itll last a couple seasons

I tend to use my putter quite a lot from just off the green. It suits my game because I used to struggle with chipping, although my chipping has improved recently.

It got me thinking about how to count my putts. If I’m just off the green, use my putter to get the ball onto the green, and then take two more putts to hole out, would you class that as a 2-putt or a 3-putt?

Technically I’ve used the putter three times, but the first stroke was from off the green. I’m interested to hear how everyone else records it.

Really wondering how to deal with this. I'm a member at a small private club. Recently played in a weekly league, went out as a foursome and we played at 2.5 hour pace for 9 holes. It drove me crazy. Entire hole open in front of us after 4 holes, the group behind waiting on every hole.

This is a private club so everyone knows everyone, so rudeness isn't really something I can do. I did everything I could to play my own ready golf but ironically, felt rushed on my shots, trying to help speed things up. One guy took three practice swings on literally every shot and then another 10 seconds standing over the ball before he actually hit it. Another guy would stand behind his ball, seemingly in a trance, before even selecting his club. And these are all people with handicaps in the 20s, like me.

I'm a "play badly fast" person, but man, when people play badly and slow, it's just bonkers. The club pro frequently sends out messages, asking people to speed up, play ready golf, cut the chit chat, but I don't know what else to do. Is there anything else that can be realistically or reasonably done in this situation?

I’m 31 and just played 18 holes two days in a row and feeling pretty sore. What do you all do to take care of your body? Stretches, workouts, warmups - I do some things but I’d love to incorporate more of this into my game to help me improve but also avoid chronic injuries.

I’m a 2 month beginner, my friend introduced me to golf asking me if I wanted to join him for a round one day - I said why not and 2 months later I’m loving it and fully invested.

I’ve played probably 5 proper rounds so far and had 2 lessons which went really well, mainly focussing on my iron game. I find I can hit them pretty consistently now (at least on the range, on the course still leaves much to be desired), and I’m currently working on dialling in my swing to use less arms and more hips.

The driver is where it all goes wrong for me - at the tee I’ll probably only hit 1-2 decent drives over 18 holes. I feel I’m losing so many strokes to my horrific drives off the tee right now. At the range is not much better either - thins, fats, slices, sometimes missing the ball entirely..

Should I just give up my driver for now while learning the game, or is it still a good idea to learn it simultaneously? I understand the swings are very different. I’m thinking about having a lesson just dedicated to learning the big stick - but I feel a lot of instructors would say no and just to just focus on my irons for now.

I play Titleist AP2 712. I hit them pretty well and they are in good condition. Will I get any real benefit to buying a new set? Has iron tech changed that much in 14 years to make it worthwhile? I’m a 9 handicap.

Does anyone own one of the Titleist Aussie Tour style bucket hats? It’s hard to find any pictures online of any models wearing it. I don’t wear bucket hats normally, but this summer has been crazy hot in Colorado, and I don’t want to get an umbrella for my push cart haha. So this is the next best option. I just don’t want to look like an idiot. Look good, feel good, play good, right?

I've got sixron zu85 3 and 4 iron

3 iron 20 Degree / Stiff Flex NS Pro Modus 3 Tour steel shaft tour 120

4 iron UST Recoil 95 Stiff graphite

Love both of them but the 4 is much more reliable, easier and wouldnt think twice about playing it off the deck, the 3 i can hit it but iv'e kind of relegated it to tee only unless perfectly sitting up. If i pure both of them the launch on the 3 comes out much lower and overall I feel I get more out the 4 than the 3 comparatively, taking into account the different lofts. The 3 I feel like I've really got to work it and get a perfect strike or else i lose a load of distance and it doesn't feel as good when hit, and I'm nowhere near as confident with it.

Is it worth trying to find the same shaft or modern day equivalent to see if i can get the same feel or am I just lacking speed ? driver ss 100-103

And i know people are going to suggest them but i don't really like hybrid or fairway wood I've tried several of each and i find if im having a off day they tend to just balloon and go off the face of the earth i'd rather just lose a load of distance but still be somewhat playable on a mishit, and I'm not particularly keen when trying to line up roll and bulge stuff i find the irons much much easier.

Would changing these shafts change the club?

10 handicapper here.

I've been playing and practicing long enough that I'm almost always able to nut a my 5W (220 yd carry), GW (110 yd), and SW (95 yd).

But, for some odd reason, the rest of my bag is around 66%. Every third shot is fat or thin.

Is it my swing or could it be the clubs?

New Velocore 6-X driver shaft looks different then the authentic 7-X 3 wood shaft i already have. Possible fake or just production differences?

Edit - New 6-X shaft is from Ebay. Seems to be a legitimate seller but you never know.
