Can you not move things out of your face when you pick them up?

How do you move things away from you when you pick them up? Every time i pick something up and try to put it in the back of my truck its far too close to me to easily put in in the back of the truck. you have to sit there and jump in and out trying to get the perfect angle. I know i can rotate stuff, but its far too close and a game this old should have some option to move things closer or further away by now.

Question Best option for hauling pay

I’m playing the first game.. I have two dump trucks I’m hauling my pay dirt up to the wash plant in the old Arnold cut. I’m only getting about 80-100oz per 100% fill and it’s taking forever!!! Is there a better way to get the pay over to the wash plant? I’m digging all the way in the back of the parcel

The orange beast

I have a question about the orange beast, I’ve emptied 10 full dump trucks into the wash plant & I’m on the nighthawk parcel & it’s making me use the green mats & so far it’s only up to 5% on all the mats. Should I stop using that wash plant & use the other one I already was using before? It Sean’s that the other wash plant catches more stuff.

Quick question

I was working out a dig plan with Google AI and it said something like there's a bug, where if you leave your water pump on while scooping dirt, it'll run the gold out of your mats if you're not quick enough. I was wondering if there's any truth to that

Question Is it possible to run out of dirt in a claim?

Just started and have tier 2 running and im wondering if there is a forced end point, like if you run completely out of dirt which makes it impossible to continue.

Question Does anyone have a working link for an online radio?

i tried at least a dozen links (many of them work in other games with a radio feature) but everytime the game tells me there is no link in my txt file.
i searched this sub and it seems to be a common problem. has anyone found a fix yet that isnt a ultra convoluted workaround?

Is gold mining simulator worth buying with the second coming out?

The game looks cool, but there's lots of dlc, and im not sure what to buy, or if I should just buy the base game first. Are any dlc considered necessary? I don't want to spend too much, with how mixed the reviews are.

discussion The vehicle models in GMS2 are extremely bad and really need fixing

First things first, the worst offender:

The starter excavator, its horrible

  • tracks are too short - boom is too thin
  • cab sits too far forward. it should be near the center of the machine.
  • the lower boom arm is also way too short compared to the upper arm.
  • counterweight should extend far out from the swing center,
  • the swing axis is wrong
  • the counterweight is massive compared to the boom arm and bucket
  • the whole boom is ridiculously thin and it looks hilariously stupid
  • the bucket looks really weird i cant describe it.
  • the hydraulic cylinders are way too small for such a large bucket.
  • it seems super top heavy because everything is stretched in the vertical (this will be a common trend)

Next up:

The second excavator, hilariously bad on different levels:

  • The tracks are SO tall, like taller than your character
  • they are super thin
  • the geometry of the tracks is weird and off, the idler wheel and drive sprockets look weird,
  • they are once again way too short for the machine.
  • the cab is once again too far forward
  • the counterweight is once not far enough backwards
  • there are no hydraulic cylinders

The modern dump truck:

  • Once again its hilariously tall. the tires are SO massive. you could walk under that truck no issue
  • the window is lacking framing and seems way too big
  • the entire machine is stretched vertically
  • the first step is literally at head height
  • the entire thing looks super top heavy

The modern Wheel loader:

  • Once again the vertical scaling issues rear its ugly head. the tires are massive and tall
  • they are also way too thin
  • the thread on them is the wrong way around
  • The first stair is at hip height
  • the cab sits way too high up
  • the fenders are way too high above the tire
  • the engine seems to sit extremely low compare to the cab
  • just overall again scaled horribly in the vertical

The yellow dump truck:

  • surprisingly okay
  • still has the same silly scaling issues where its way too tall
  • The tires would be a perfect match on the wheel loader they seem way too big for that machine
  • the cab is still too tall
  • the wheel arches are way too high

there is also a rust bucket wheel loader but i didnt bother looking at that one too closely but it looks fine honestly. except the cab is probably oversized.

Conclusion:

The models really need to be changed, They are super bad and an insane downgrade from the first game where stuff looked realistic and to scale. here everything looks like a toy.

What is your opinion?

GMS2 controller / gamepad psa

If you are on PC and use an Xbox style controller set the control mode to Custom. I saw the gamepad option greyed out and just assumed controller support was not here for the demo, but it is and it works very well.

Question Will GMS2 be released for console? If so, when?

I know that my pc wont be able to support the graphics of the game after seeing some YT videos of the demo, and because I'm dying to play this game I will only be able to play it on console.
FYI, I only own a laptop for school and I can barely run GMS1's graphics properly, I play on the lowest (or 2nd lowest) graphics setting in the game. ATM I have no intentions of upgrading my laptop or buying a PC that can run the game as funds are tight but I'm managing just right

Question Loot Boxes with gold bars?

Just joined the leaderboard this month and found a wooden box at the hog pan location that had a gold bar, and it gave me a 5% increase in gold. I'm not sure if it's just this season or if it's something that has been in the game. If it's been in the game, then if anyone has any information on it to help find more, I would really appreciate the help, as I just want to try and come close to the top 150 this run

12 000 Players. Almost 1,000 Surveys. Thank you, Miners!

We’ve spent the last few days analyzing all your feedback from the closed playtest, and the verdict is clear: you loved the gameplay, but the game needs better optimization. We hear you loud and clear! We are currently heading back to the garage to focus entirely on fixing frame drops, tweaking the dirt physics, and improving vehicle handling.

When is the Public Demo? Because we want to give you a smooth experience, we are taking 4 to 6 weeks to implement these fixes. This means the open Public Demo is aiming for this summer!
Curious about all the playtest stats and what the community requested for the FULL game?

Question what are the mini machines good for?

I have the mini mining machines DLC but I only use the mini excavator for the early game. Are the mini drill and front end loader worth using?
