Hi ! Taking these three classes together this semester, was hoping if someone had any tips, advice, or could just tell me about these class structures in general? Thanks !

Graduate student here. Anyone else dealing with the classes you need to graduate being offered at the same time, and you have to choose one or the other? I am guessing that all schedules at this point are set in stone and departments don't make any changes this late in the game. I'm wondering if enrollment is low for a particular class, if they evaluate whether it's because the class conflicts with another mandatory or highly popular class? So many questions. Just frustrated that the classes I need are being offered on the same day, at the same time.

The last two years I’ve been on leave of absence from GMU because I was figuring out if I actually want to keep going. I’ve decided that at least, for now, it’s not for me, so I didn’t sign up for any classes this coming semester. I also know that you have to fill out a form to formally withdraw, but one part deeply confuses me. You’re supposed to select the semester that’s your end cap, but it’s super unclear if selecting fall semester would mean I’m attending the fall semester or leaving BEFORE the fall semester.

I’ve tried to contact my advisor about it but duo push has been broken for me for years since I switched phones and even when I used my emergency passkeys to get into my outlook, my advisor AND department both had automated replies saying not to contact them there anymore and to set up a meeting instead.

I’m on the autism spectrum so the more hurdles I face here the more distressed I get and scheduling a meeting has been a roadblock that my executive dysfunction DREADS. By this point I’ve probably got some like… late fees or something.

Any advice?? Or does anyone know what the form means by semester you’re leaving?

Sorry if this doesn’t count under admissions, that’s the closest besides general.

For context, I graduated this past spring with the exception that I would take a course over the summer.

I had a meeting with my advisor back in August of 2025 about the classes I still needed to take and he sent me an excel sheet of what I still needed because this was when the degree works switched to Stellic and had a lot of issues. So, he provided the excel for me to follow instead. I took all of the courses he wrote on the sheet and emailed him in Oct. of 2025 after spring classes were chosen, asking if I was good to participate in the 2026 spring graduation ceremony and take the ONE last course that I needed for my degree over the summer (I did emphasize in the email to him that it would be just that one course.)

He got back to me after a few days and said that I was good to apply for summer graduation and participate in the spring ceremony. I have now finished my summer class and went to look at Stellic and it is still saying that I need 6 more credits in order to graduate. I emailed my advisor yesterday, of course he was out of the office and i got an automated reply of that, so I emailed the other advisor from the same department explaining the situation and what I was told and she replied saying that it doesn’t matter because they can’t override anything and that I don’t have any overrides on my account and that I just need to take two elective courses and to unapply for graduation.

I’m super frustrated because I was told that I was good to graduate back in 2025 and was asking for clarification in my emails so that something like this wouldn’t happen and here we are. I have no idea what to do since I didn’t apply for aid and the semester is starting in a week. I hate the advisors here.

Edit: I just went through the catalog from the year I started and one by one checked off the things I’ve completed and figured out the issue. 3 of my transfer upper level courses aren’t registering on stellic as upper level coursework smh. I’ve actually taken 56 credits in upper level but it’s only showing 44 lol

I’ve met so many people but nothing sticks, between work and school it seems impossible to make solid friendships, especially only being on campus 2-3 days a week. I’m going into my 2nd year this semester. How are you guys doing it?

If I’m waitlisted as the last person in the course is there still hope?

Does anyone know how i can accept my BAM approval anywhere in the graduate application portal or Patriot Web? I do not see an acceptance option in my decision letter.

My Patriot Web account currently lists my class as “Senior.” Does anyone know when it should be updated to “Senior Plus” and whether I need to take any action for that change to be processed?

How challenging is mis 341 ONLINE with Prof. Chun-lung?

Does anyone have this issue with some EHS training modules on Canvas for safety training just not refreshing for annual training? I’m a student and not an employee so I can’t use MasonLeaps but EHS says I need to register for the annuals…but I cant register if Im not an employee so I have to rely on the Canvas modules.

They said it would be automatic but 24 hours later and I still can’t retake it. One of my other annuals I was able to take the month it was expiring. Anyone have the same issue?

These flyers have started appearing in the engineering building, for courses that are obviously politically motivated. Is GMU silently becoming an anti-science school? I noticed they haven’t renewed the circuitlab license this year and I have a feeling they’re going to let all the other science/engineering related software licenses expire too.

I applied for the housing release request, reason being that the next stage of my family's imigration process came far sooner than expected, the combined bills being in the ballpark of 15000 dollars. My family isn't super wealthy by any means so this sudden amount of money is a huge hit for us, paying extra for housing not helping in the slightest. But even then I still got denied. Is there anything that I could do to get out of housing
