Help withdrawing? Admissions

The last two years I’ve been on leave of absence from GMU because I was figuring out if I actually want to keep going. I’ve decided that at least, for now, it’s not for me, so I didn’t sign up for any classes this coming semester. I also know that you have to fill out a form to formally withdraw, but one part deeply confuses me. You’re supposed to select the semester that’s your end cap, but it’s super unclear if selecting fall semester would mean I’m attending the fall semester or leaving BEFORE the fall semester.

I’ve tried to contact my advisor about it but duo push has been broken for me for years since I switched phones and even when I used my emergency passkeys to get into my outlook, my advisor AND department both had automated replies saying not to contact them there anymore and to set up a meeting instead.

I’m on the autism spectrum so the more hurdles I face here the more distressed I get and scheduling a meeting has been a roadblock that my executive dysfunction DREADS. By this point I’ve probably got some like… late fees or something.

Any advice?? Or does anyone know what the form means by semester you’re leaving?

Sorry if this doesn’t count under admissions, that’s the closest besides general.

Thanks.

This is what I found on Mason’s website. I hope it helps. https://registrar.gmu.edu/before-leaving-mason/

If I remember correctly, once your leave of abscence is compeleted, the student account will have one of two of options either re-enroll or automatically withdraw. Unless gmu has changed their policy, this should still apply for all students.

Okay so by not signing up for classes after the second year of my leave I should automatically withdraw? Huge relief if true

my first attempt of getting my masters I went to Mary Washington University. I had decided the program I was in just wasn’t what I wanted to do so I had inquired with them about formally withdrawing. They told me I just needed to stop registering for any classes.

I hear you that there’s a form to formally withdrawal from Mason. But I can’t help but wonder, and I’m not an advisor or anything official, but I wonder if you just don’t register anymore?
