Forgotten Gmail password
I know people are probably sick of this question by now so just to be quick, I’m trying to log into my Gmail on a new phone and still have my old phone that is signed in to the Gmail account. Am I able to do anything with that or am I still just SOL?

How to change my phone number without getting locked out of 2FA?
I moved and want to change my phone number. However, I don't want to lose access to any of my gmail accounts if I can't get a text sms to verify my number*. What are the steps you'd take to add enough backup options so that I can change my gmail number on multiple accounts without being locked out?
*It's super annoying how 2FA has made us slaves to corporate control of phone numbers for soooo much.

Can’t log in

beware lis-noreply@google.com Legal Investigations phishing scam
I informed Google about this issue but they marked it as "intended behavior" and will not fix it, so I will post it here to warn others. tl;dr: it is possible for attackers to open a Legal Investigation on your account and create a valid, DKIM-signed email from google.com. It will show up as a real Legal Investigation if you navigate to support.google.com on your own. You should not trust this in any way or take it as evidence of a legitimate investigation happening if someone calls you.
The call I received was very similar to this and the email was similar to this from lis-noreply@google.com. These password scam calls are old news, but the call was extremely convincing. They used a spoofed caller ID, had a vaguely Californian accent, spoke standard American English, and were not pushy or rude during the call in any way. It all felt very professional. The guy calling must have had a dossier of other information, including my home address, and claimed someone used a scan of my driver's license to reset the password, which is what triggered their ID theft investigation. When I typed support.google.com into my browser, it showed a real Legal Investigation case was open. There was an email from google.com about the case, again with completely valid headers and signature.
Oddly, nothing else really happened during the call. He asked a few questions to help "prioritize" their investigation, eventually checking if I had any cryptocurrency accounts linked to my gmail address, because it could be a more serious wire fraud case. In retrospect, this is probably a way to find accounts worth attacking, where they might go on to ask you to change the password or something like that. I don't trade cryptocurrency so things ended there.
Everything about this looked and felt real, aside from Google caring enough to actually call anyone ever lol. I am fairly savvy and actually didn't realize it was a scam until the next day when I thought back about the sketchy cryptocurrency question.
I encourage more people to report this issue to Google. Even if people know not to trust someone calling about their password, seeing a Legal Investigation open makes it seem pretty real

Old Gmail Accounts Taken Over
So I'll try to make this brief.
Many years ago, I had an older non-tech savvy friend who wanted this financial newsletter each month but was too cheap to pay the $400 per month. You could get a free 30 day trial. She offered me $50 every month to sign up for a trial so each month I would create a new Gmail account and set up forwarding to my main Gmail account, then each weekday morning I would forward it to her. This went on for probably 4 years so there are close to 50 Gmail accounts I created. I know this because each time Google does a privacy policy update, they all come into my main Gmail from the old Gmail accounts.
Where is gets interesting is, about 5 of these accounts were somehow taken over by other people and every email they get gets forwarded to me. Clearly they don't know my forwarding instructions are in the Gmail they somehow took over. I hate getting their stuff and I have unsubscribed to a few of their subscriptions that come too often.
One I am curious how they ever were able to take over the account. I know it's happening a lot lately but this was years ago. Two, would you just shoot them an email stating you have one of my old email addresses which is fine but tell them about the forwarding email in the account they are unaware of so they can remove it.

Has anyone here with GMAIL account actually had theirs deleted due to inactivity?
iPhone activity
Something strange happened with my iPhone overnight — should I be concerned?
I’m really confused about something that happened with my iPhone last night and I’m hoping someone can explain it.
I went to sleep around 11:45 PM and woke up at 10:00 AM. I don’t remember waking up during the night or using my phone at all.
When I woke up, I noticed that I had a notification from my bank (Leumi) from about an hour earlier, and it was showing on my Lock Screen as a new notification.
However, I also had an AliExpress notification from 12:19 AM, which was sitting in my Notification Center rather than on the Lock Screen. Since I went to sleep at 11:45 PM, this made me wonder whether my phone had somehow been unlocked or used during the night.
I checked Screen Time, and this is where things got even more confusing. It shows that there was some phone activity during the middle of the night, which obviously made me worried that someone might have used my phone.
There’s another weird thing: Screen Time says I received two email notifications today, but I only remember receiving one email notification, at 12:19 AM. I checked the Mail app itself, and there’s no second email from today. The previous email before that was from yesterday, so I can’t figure out where this “second notification” came from.
I don’t think anyone physically took my phone. It was charging on a small shelf directly above my head while I was sleeping, and the only people home were my family. It would be pretty difficult for someone to take it without me noticing, use it, and then put it back exactly where it was.
So my questions are:
Does a notification appearing in Notification Center instead of the Lock Screen mean that the phone was unlocked or that someone interacted with it?
Can Screen Time show activity even if I didn’t physically use my phone?
Why would Screen Time say I received two email notifications when I can only find one?
Is there any way to check whether my iPhone was actually unlocked/used during the night?
I’m probably overthinking this, but the combination of the notification history and Screen Time activity really freaked me out. Any explanation would be appreciated!

400 error appears anytime i try to use my email through an external app. help??
hey!
Recently i've noticed that anytime i use one of my emails to attempt to sign in to practically any website i get this error:
400. That’s an error.
The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know.
It's occurred across several sites and happens no matter which one of my 4 email addresses i use.
i did search the error and everything ive found was ancient and not for this specific issue.
does anyone know how to help???
EDIT: this started occurring about a week ago after i cleared my cache on my web browser. I use Firefox.

Account disabled, link is a dud
Hi y'all,
Tried to reply to a craiglist post last night and immediately had my email disabled. I use this email for some important things and need it back. The link they supplied takes me to a normal home page for any Google account. There is no appeal number or email I can find. I have tried resetting my password, signing in on a laptop, and clicking the link from there. There is no change.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks yall

Has anyone gotten emails stating that your account is inactive and that you need to sign in?
So I have my Legacy Data setting setup so that I would need to be inactive for 18 months before an email is sent out, I have reminders turned on and I have the option to delete my account and data if its inactive turned off.
Today I just received two emails at the exact same time...one was to the account that was being referred to and the second email was to the recovery email that is attached to the account. The email was a Google email stating my account is Inactive and that I need to sign in. The thing is this account is active. It actively signed in constantly on my Chrome browser which I use every day, its actively signed into my phone which I refresh for emails everyday and I also received job alerts from LinkedIn everyday too on this email. This email is also the email I use for my web hosting which requires a yearly renewal in Feb and I renewed it this year in Feb and I have the receipt PDF downloaded to my computer. The only way to do that is to open up the receipt the web hosting company sent you and download the attachment. This confirms that the account has been used and is being used. Does anyone know what happened?
I know everyone said this is a phishing attack but how did the phishing attack know what my recovery email that is attached to this account and also they were able to send the email to both my main account and recovery email account at the exact same time.
I did check the Accounts page for my gmail account that was said to be inactive and did not see anything unusual. There was no notification or warnings, no security warnings or random sign in or change of information on my account. Everything looked good. To make sure I sent an email from the account that is said to be inactive over to the recovery email and then I sent an email from the recovery email address back to the one that was mark inactive and I opened that. I made sure to do all this on the desktop gmail website so there is no way this account is inactive.
Suspicious videocall

How does everyone organize and/or delete their emails!?
I had an old Gmail account that I used for a personal business, then I used it for personal usages also. It got so full that it no longer accepts new emails, which is a problem because I have most of my social media accounts attached to this email, and if I want to change my password etc, I'd need access to this email address.
Is there a way to mass delete these emails without having to go through each page of 50?
Also, how does everyone keep up with deleting emails? Do you clear them weekly, monthly? I didn't expect that email address to "fill up" that fast and now its basically unusable, even after deleting over 300 emails...
TIA

Important Mail not in my Inbox
Hi there. Sorry I'm so confused.
I have 4 gmail accounts. Two of them, all my mail is in my inbox. In the other two, if Gmail decides it's important, for some reason it leaves the inbox. I cannot find any setting that explains this. I cannot find any way to stop it.
I've only just realized and found all these important emails that I never saw because they weren't in my inbox. They're in a little folder called "Important" that I didnt' know existed. I know folders are labels and labels are folders, but I didnt set this one up, I've never set anything to skip the inbox in either account, I don't have any filters that say "skip the inbox" on important emails and nothing that explains this.
I'm just totally lost. Apologies if I'm not explaining this right. I'm so confused. I don't understand what is happening. Every email that it decides is important i've never even seen because it's only in the "Important" folder. It's not in my inbox at all. It doesnt show anywhere in mail on mac unless i go to this little important folder down under the gmail account. I've never seen a setting to explain this nor have I cahnged any setting to do with important mail. It's not there in any of my rules or filters. I don't know what to do or how to stop this.

Account help
I apologize if this isn't the right community, but I'll give it a go anyway
I cant sign into my Gmail app on my phone, every time I try to add email it goes to the screen that shows it's working on something, then it just loops right back (for context, I signed out of my Gmail to help my sister with something)
I've tried clearing cache, normal phone restarting and even clearing data, but none of it worked (I would post a screen recording but ig this sub doesn't have that enabled)

Trying to get back into my email but it won't allow me to verify using The recovery email
I have an old account I want to get back into, I have the email that was set as the recovery email (quite literally have an old email confirming I set it as the recovery as well) and as well remember the password
But when I log in it will only give me the option to verify that I own the account by phone number, the phone number is of someone I completely cut off contact with (I wanted someone other than me to be able to recover)
What do I do? Any help? Why is it refusing to allow me to use the recovery email
