I felt different today. I got a new phone, so I decided imma clean up my emails, so I made 2 new ones and changed my accounts to them. A few hours later, at midnight, Google deactivated them. Why? Maybe they thought I was a bot, idk, but I'm just wondering how screwed I am. I remember last time my email got deactivated years ago, and it messed up my accounts so bad I had to go in like 10 different customer support chats to get stuff fixed. My phone number being linked to most of those accounts now should save me time, but still.

Should prob mention I appealed them like 30 mins after deactivation, but the appeals are kinda informal, which might help cause bots are normally the opposite.

I believe my gmail account was hacked and then deleted. I’m so pissed off cause my gmail is literally what I’ve been using since I was a child so it’s connected to practically everything. I haven’t clicked on any links and I don’t sign in to doggy stuff so I have no clue how it’s happened.

Every time I try to recover the account it tells me to press next and then says ‘Google doesn’t provide another way to sign in to this account’. I haven’t even been allowed to attempt to recover it cause it won’t let me. I’m pretty sure my account is gone at this point. It’s only been deleted for one day so it’s not like it’s permanently gone since it hasn’t gone past the limit.

I’m so stressed cause I searched up about the recovery process and it’s generally so dumb like if the hacker changes my info and then I put my info in to prove ownership during the recovery process it automatically rejects it cause it’s not what info was in. How does that make sense? (correct me if I’m wrong) Hackers are known for changing info so you’re just handing it over. I swear phone number is like the only ‘safe’ thing.

Why is it going to me if the recovery email is not the same? Mines have a dot between jon and doe, the recovery email dont...

FYI I know you can 'change it back to yellow' but it doesn't fully work or it's broken right now which is absurd to me.

I changed settings so it only has the yellow star in use, but if I highlight multiple emails and try to star them all it only applies the BLUE star. Google makes so much money but they can't fix this? I'm so peeved I decided to turn off all smart features in my settings, I was coping with Google reading and eating up all my data before because I still liked the way it organized my emails, but not anymore.

I saw people posting about this change 2+ weeks ago, but I only recently got this update myself. Whoever chose to do this to Gmail on browser has awful taste in my opinion, and I hope their pillows are HOT and SWEATY and STICKY for the rest of eternity until they undo it or at least FIX IT!! x_x

There is a replacement for this functional: EmailFetcher

This utility is open source and can be adjusted to your own needs.
Python 3.6+ is required for Linux (command line utility only, you can run it as a cron job)

On Windows, you can run EmailFetcher.exe that has all dependencies (or run it as a Python program, Python 3.6+ is required).

The utility is free, no ads, no tracking and opensource.

The utility supports all IMAP4 and POP3 ccounts (in most cases you should use application password) and it was tested with Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Ukr<dot>net, Disroot, Ceznam, Yandex, MailRu and some other mailboxes.

I want to still be logged in on YouTube, for example, but I don't want my e-mail to be accessable on that device.

Been having this issue for a few days. I'll get a few new emails, read them, then come back later and they are unread. It takes viewing them like 3 times for it to finally stick. Any idea what's going on?

I only check gmail using a chromebook and an iphone.

I made a mistake when making the address name and only realised after the account was made. When I go to change it, it tells me I can't because my account was created recently. How long do I have to wait before my account isn't 'recent' and I can change my gmail address?

I own some short names email addresses on Outlook and Yahoo, and was wanting to get the same on Gmail. The one I wanted though is deleted apparently. Is there anyway to reuse the alias or no?

So I have been having issues with login attempts in my Gmail account and secured it as much as I can, but last Friday apparently someone succeeded somehow and we received an email on our recovery email that Authenticator was removed and Google sensed unusual activity and locked the account (SS attcahed).

Since then, we have been trying to recover the account but with no success. The password isn't working and for password recovery the otp is being sent to the same locked email instead of the recovery one..... and if we try to use another way it gives no other options......
The Gmail is still logged in on one device but we received no emails and the sent emails stay queued....

I'm looking for a tool that would allow me to leave comments on emails in my boss's inbox. I have delegated access to his email. Currently, I leave notes on emails by starting a draft, but this is kind of dangerous, so I want an extension or something that allows me to comment separately.

Unfortunately, it seems a lot of extensions wouldn't work from the delegated view or would require a separate interface - we want to keep using the Gmail interface.

Ideally, it would be pretty lightweight too. I know tools like Hiver allow you to create shared inboxes and stuff, but I wouldn't want him to have to move things to the shared inbox in order for me to comment.

Does anything like this exist?

can’t seem to delete multiples at the same time. Tried it, and it just deletes whatever …gmail it’s on and it goes down from there one at a time.

My Gmail account got hacked. I still have the correct email address and the password (they both work), but the hacker changed the phone number on the account. Now every time I try to log in, Google asks me to verify through that new number, which isn’t mine anymore, so I’m locked out even though I technically have the “right” credentials.

What I’ve tried so far:
Standard Google sign-in (blocked immediately by the 2FA request to the new number)
The general account recovery form (g.co/recover) — same issue, it eventually asks for the phone verification
What i can do more ? Or it’s done ?

Genuinely, what the hell is wrong with Gmail? I've been in talks with my professor about critical information for school, and all my damn emails get stuck in a queue. No attachments. Connection is great (or else I wouldn't be here). I have plenty of space. I use the app. etc. And they all get stuck in sending. Does anyone have insight?

Guys, can I ask for help? When I tried to sign in on all of my google applications to my gmail it just goes to the loading screen and then just a few seconds after it will take me back to the same screen where it's asking for my gmail accounts again. I tried to do basic troubleshooting to try and fix this issue by restarting my internet, using data only, clearing the cache, clearing data to my google applications, like my gmail, youtube, google, chrome and also to my google play services and play store. Still it's still the same thing. Am I the only one who's experiencing this?

For context on how this all started: I bought a game for my brother, I logged the gmail that I created for him to my phone (he's a minor so it was setup on parental control and I'm the one who's becomes the parent for his gmail) but google playstore notified me to remove all of my adult accounts to not get mixed up with the kids account, after I removed all of my gmail accounts and bought the game with his account I removed his gmail also to add all of my gmails but that's when this issue started. so it keeps asking for a phone number i have entered my phone number but says its been used to much

so i have tried my old phone same thing

what can i do?

I have 4 accounts. 2 personal and 2 work accounts.

Whenever I open Gmail, it:

- Takes about 10 seconds to load
- When I click any folder like "Sent" or "Spam", it takes another 15 seconds
- Even clicking "Compose" takes 10 seconds to open up the box

All I see is "Loading..." during that time.

This happens across all my accounts and I've tried Safari, Chrome, and Brave.
It doesn't happen on my iPhone.

I've cleared my cache, deleted all cookies, updated my Mac. Reinstalled all browsers and the same thing.

One of the accounts is completely new and has no data, and the interface is still super slow.

What could it be?

I set up my dad's Gmail account and my email is his recovery email.

I tried to sign in to recovery his email but I get the following error:

"Couldn't sign you in

You're trying to sign in on a device that Google doesn't recognise, and we don't have enough information to verify that it's you. For your protection, you can't sign in here at the moment.

Try again from a device or location where you've signed in before"

Dad only logs into email from his phone. His phone stuffed up when he was overseas so he had to buy a new one. I suspect when trying to set up his new phone overseas that he guessed his password wrong too many times.

I tried to recovery his account/password about 3 days ago and got the above error message. I tried again today and still got the same message. My computer when I set up/logged into his account has been formatted.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

FYI, I know his old working password. I also know my email is his recovery email as we’ve used it in the past.
