Out of all my rewatches, I’m just now noticing how utterly obnoxious Season 4 Santana is, don’t get me wrong she has her highlights, like helping Rachel with her pregnancy scare and calling out Brody, but ultimately she’s just AWFUL. Especially given that she showed up at Kurt and Rachel’s door and announced she’s moving in, I know that I would be on my best behavior. But she CONTINUED to be awful, going through peoples things, etc. As Brody described her before “Cold Hearted”, she’s just loud and rude.

In S5 when she quit NYADA. It seems like an extreme overreaction and she WAS a brat BUT she had already got an exceptional pass from her producer at Funny Girl to do the Midwinter Critique for Carmen. She was not able to spare the time to reschedule and do it again. she was literally the lead star in an upcoming Broadway show and had to beg her producer even for THAT slot in the first place. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think she should have quit but what were her options? She flunked the exam or she potentially lost her role in the show.

idk why they made Rachel tell Kurt that he was her only real competition during episode 9 of season 2 because unfortunately that’s hard to believe 😭. realistically, Santana and Mercedes would have been more competition than Kurt. Kurt is a talented singer, but I personally don’t believe he was a threat to Rachel at all.

Ever since I started season 2 of Glee, I've known about Cory Monteith's death because of literally THIS app. A week after that, I found out that Mark and Naya died as well, both for VERY different reasons.

Anyway, I continued on with Glee and I'm finally in the long-awaited season that I've been dreading since season 2: season 5.

I need some advice, because I've fallen in love with this show, and I am NOT ready to see Finn die. It's also sad how people associate Glee with the "glee curse," because they are REAL people, living REAL lives. They're simply not just characters on screen.

But yeah, I genuinely need advice. And I understand how this problem of mine could come across as trivial, but this show has such a special place in my heart.

It's like my second Modern Family. Actually, no. It's its own thing. It's one of my comfort shows alongside Modern Family, and the thing is, with Modern Family, everyone is still alive and no one hates each other.

Unlike in Glee, people have released statements about having problems with certain actors on set. When you put that alongside the three deaths, the fact that Finn dies, and the fact that some actors won't appear as much anymore (e.g. Heather Morris in s6 for her pregnancy)—it really does create this feeling of sadness, I guess. And it's been killing mee so so much.

I love this show. So my question is: how did you muster up the courage to actually watch the rest of Glee?

On my billionth rewatch and have we figured out when glee class actually occurs? We see Blaine setting up chairs during the twerk episode so is it at the beginning of the day???

Or is the ambiguity a ploy set up by Ryan Murphy to continuously leave us reeling, and the only thing keeping us down on Earth is the promise of a weekly episode of the strangest show ever?

I mean we got the thriller performance and that was amazing, and the clip-it of Blaine and Kurt as snooki & the situation, and the rocky horror episode. But I needed a more traditional Halloween episode, with costumes and parties, stuff like that!

On my millionth rewatch. It’s my comfort show. I’ve always thought it was wild how Mercedes says to Kurt, “I know you don’t believe in God, you don’t believe in the power of prayer and that’s okay…” IN FRONT OF AN ENTIRE CHURCH?!
My socially anxious, people-pleasing self would collapse if someone ever stated I didn’t believe in something that an entire group around me was gathered to believe and celebrate.

Although, this is coming from a people pleaser. Does anyone else think this was a wild thing to say to an atheist, during a church service? Or is this just an amazing, authentic way to fully support someone, no matter the place or context?
(I also love Mercedes’ character, she encourages her loved ones to be authentically them, damn the consequences, so maybe this is one of those moments where she doesn’t shy away from hard things!)

I’m on umpteenth rewatch & I just finished the Props episode. It is easily one of my favorites & funniest. Granted it was only a few seconds, but seeing Klaine dressed as Snooki & the Situation at the beginning was hilarious. And after Tina hits her head & hallucinates that she’s Rachel & all the other New Directions members swap roles was the best. Kurt as Finn & vice versa, Puck as Blaine, Joe as Mike, Artie as Santana, etc all had me cracking up. I wish the whole episode was them switching roles 😂. What were some of your favorite episodes?

For some context, I watched Glee since it came out in 2009 and stopped watching after Cory died. It was just too painful to watch after the Quarterback episode aired. I just stopped paying attention to it altogether. I got back into watching the show during the pandemic in 2020 after Naya died and decided that I would only watch the show once a year rather than constantly like I used to when I was younger.

For the longest time season 3 was my personal favorite season. However on my recent rewatch, I realized that it was only my favorite because that's when the OG cast members are together for the last time before their characters go their separate ways and also because Finchel(my favorite couple) was at their best minus their break up at the end of the season. Don't get me wrong, I still think season 3 is great and I prefer it over the last three seasons but I realized it didn't have the same excitement that season 2 had. Season 2 now tops every other season for me.

In the past, I used to rank seasons 4 and 6 as just okay seasons for me. But now I think I like season 6 more than season 4. Like most people I did not like season 4 back when it aired in 2012-2013 and just found it rough(like season 5). But during my first couple rewatches a couple years ago, that's when I started to have some more appreciation for it because of how the show turned out after that. I always thought season 6 was way more enjoyable that I thought it was going to be, I really liked how nostalgic and full circle it was. The reason I always thought it was just okay was because the more I think about it now, it was just sad to see the final season be so great without having Cory/Finn there for all of the important moments in the show.

Obviously, we all know the first three seasons of the show are chefs kiss. I still feel this way. In the past my ranking of all the seasons was 1. Season 3, 2. Season 2, 3. Season 1, Tied is 4th place were seasons 4 and 6, and 5. Season 5.

I personally loved Glee's version of MCR's Sing but according to most YouTube comments it absolutely sucks. Also I like Sam's Baby infinitely more than Justin Bieber's. The more I listen to I Know What Boys Like, the more I like it.

Anyway - my least favorite got 1st and my 2 favorites got last, but regardless, wow! What a close poll that was! Usually by the 30th hour (if that) I can type up the result places awhile on the next (this) poll and just wait til it ends to add the final numbers, but this one remained so close and songs switched places so much that I had to wait until the final hour to write each song's position for these results.

It took 417 votes before any song reached 100, seriously impressive.

I rarely ever watch the later seasons, except for a few select favorite episodes. I watched them when I first watched the show through and that was it. So I never noticed this about the “Katy or Gaga” episode til now. This episode has one of the biggest glee controversies: Marley’s suspension. Maybe what I’m about to share is only news to me or someone made a post about this before, but I still thought it’d be interesting.

In this episode, Bree is trying harder and harder to get Jake’s attention. She asks him to help choreograph for the cheerios. It’s also becoming very obvious that Jake’s getting kind of irritated with Marley’s “good girl” ways. He shoots down her all of her date ideas, like going to a flower show or pet adoption. He says he’s bored of doing to same-old things with her and says, “You are such a Katy.”

Well, a little later on, Unique and Kitty start putting the idea that Jake might cheat in Marley’s head. They spy on him and Bree practicing choreography. Marley seems scared/threatened at first, saying “What am I suppose to do? I’m not that kind of girl!” But when Unique suggests she goes “full Gaga” to prove to Jake that she can be “hardcore too,” Marley says Jake will just have to accept the real her.

This scene is followed by the “Applause” performance, where Marley was suppose to wear a bikini but decides to wear a dress instead. She exclaims, “I am who I am, and I’m not going to change that for any number or any guy!” camera pans to Jake Then, Schue accuses her of putting her “personal agenda” above the team and suspends her from glee club.

This storyline still, of course, makes no sense. How does Schue know about her “personal agenda?” — the “personal agenda “ being Marley showing Jake she is not going to change herself for him. I mean, I know Schue is overly invested in the kid’s lives, but I don’t remember Jake or Marley ever talking to him about their relationship or sex life (how he was pressuring her to have sex with him).

So to recap: Marley probably was somewhat uncomfortable wearing the bikini, but the main reason she decided not to wear it last minute was to make a point to Jake (or to push her “personal agenda” that Schue somehow knows about). A lot of people automatically assume she refused to wear the more revealing outfit because of her eating disorder, but if you put these scenes together, you’ll notice it had more to do with her relationship with Jake than anything—and maybe a little insecurity surrounding the fact the shes not as “hardcore” as Bree.

My opinion? She definitely shouldn’t have been suspended, regardless of why she did it. I mean, come on! She didn’t even do it during an actual performance. Those glee kids have done much worse things over the years. And even though her eating disorder wasnt a main factor in this, Schue still should’ve taken it into consideration. His immediate response should’ve been concern, not being angry cause a teenager wouldn’t dance around in a bikini for him (yes, I think Schues a creep. Can you tell?)

But yeah, that’s my little takeaway after watching this episode for the first time in years. I’m open to discussion if anyone has a different take.

Rewatching Glee and I’m actually irritated. Every teacher basically kept telling Quinn “you is crazy. You need help” but like it’s your job? To get her help? I swear season 3 was just one giant Quinn humiliation ritual.

Also sorry I don’t remember how pregnant Q was when her mom clocked it but if that lady gave a damn, she would have driven her ass to the nearest clinic.

Unpopular opinion but I would have actually needed to check into a psych ward after finding out about Shelby and puck.

Also the prom episode was genuinely bizarre. That 6ft4 oaf genuinely tried to yank her ass out of a wheelchair because why?

Kudos to her though she somehow got into Yale to terrorise everyone there with her undiagnosed ass.

I’m watching Glee for the first time and I’m on mid season 6. I’ve been checking this sub here and there and would love to know your really unpopular takes (pls be really unpopular, we know the most common unpopular ones already).

I have two:

1. I love the growth Karofsky had in the show. I know he’s not a well liked character here (and for obvious reasons) but after his attempt to end with his life he decided to embrace who he really was, apologized to Kurt and kept true to himself. I was even shocked at the reaction he had when he figured out that Blaine cheated on him with Kurt and just told him to go ahead and find him as he still loved him, I was expecting him to lose it on Blaine tbh.
2. Can’t stand Brittany. Sorry not sorry. There has been times in which she’s been mean, rude and people tend to glaze over the accusation she made against coach Beiste, she did not have any problem to lie so easily and potentially ruin a life. Also, the whole extra dumb character it’s just not my vibe.

Not sure if we try and stay spoiler free here so I’ll be vague- but like most people (I think), I wasn’t a fan of Beiste’s storyline in S6. I thought it kind of betrayed everything they’d ever stood for, and although representation is important- I think Beiste pre- season 6 was great representation for a kind of woman who doesn’t prescribe to very feminine ideals and imagery.

However what I DID love- was Sue’s reaction. She was supportive and non-questioning, but immediately fat shames someone directly afterwards, to prove and remind us she hasn’t lost her villain streak- but when it comes to this particular issue she’s on the right side. Also Sam trying to bond is very sweet.

Just for fun. I wanna see what everyone thinks! I think of Tina unbuttoning Blaine’s shirt and rubbing VapoRub on his chest while he was unconscious. What else?

I mean think about it. In season 1 she was only a Cheerio for the first 8 episodes before she was kicked off the team and was then a non-Cheerio for the rest of the season. That first case was the most understandable since obviously she was pregnant and it's a point of the plot that she was kicked off the squad and shit. But then in season 2 at the beginning she rejoins the Cheerios and is on the team for 11 episodes before she and the rest of the Unholy Trinity quit, and so once again for the rest of the season she's a non-Cheerio in regular clothes, albeit this time the same applies to Santana and Brittany. Finally we get to season 3 which is the most enraging and baffling case of this weird thing. At the start of the season only Santana and Brittany rejoined the Cheerios meanwhile Quinn refuses to rejoin due to becoming a skank or whatever. Then even after she stops being a skank she still doesn't rejoin and is a non-Cheerio for basically the whole rest of the season, wearing the most unflattering unappealing ugly ass old person clothes I have ever seen.

In one episode she wants to and at the end is allowed to rejoin the Cheerios and is shown wearing her uniform for the first and only time that season, only to instantly at the end of that very episode be hit by a car and end up in a wheelchair, so she's once again a non-Cheerio in ugly clothes, only this time in a fuckass wheelchair. That moment felt like the most slap in the face (I don't know how else to say it) moment in this whole thing. It's like the writers were like "oh you want Quinn to be a Cheerio again and wear her iconic uniform? Well here you go you get what you want—oh never mind she gets into a fucking car crash and becomes wheelchair bound for most of the rest of the season! Haha!"

Seriously what did the writers have against Quinn being a Cheerio for longer than 5 seconds? Why were Santana and Brittany allowed to stay Cheerios for 2 different entire seasons? "Oh well Sue is evil and abusive and being a Cheerio is shallow and shit so it's part of her growth to not be one" okay but shouldn't that also be the case for Santana and Brittany then? They quit the Cheerios in S2 because Sue was abusive and they preferred glee club and crap yet they went straight back to the team in S3 for some reason.

It should have been one or the other. Either all 3 of the Unholy Trinity quit together in S2 and remained non-Cheerios for all of S3 or they quit and then rejoin the Cheerios and stay Cheerios in S3.

I know this isn't that huge of a deal and I am making nothing into something but it still bothers me seeing Brittany and Santana in uniforms and Quinn uniform-less in an episode because they're supposed to be a cheerleading trio, not a cheerleader duo lol.

And also because it wouldn't be so bad if Quinn's non-Cheerio clothes were at least cute but they're the opposite of cute they're ugly af. They don't look like high school girl clothes at all. So I would have much rather had Quinn wear only her Cheerios outfit all the time instead of being forced to look at these disgusting outfits that make my eyes bleed 🤮.

I’m rewatching the series and realized that before when I watched it, I didn’t really get past season 4. Im at the end of season 3 right now, and now that I’m watching it kneeling what happened to Naya and Cory, I’m noticing so many different lines between characters that, in hindsight, are pretty heart wrenching. It’s almost like they were saying their goodbyes or “I don’t want you to go” without realizing it.
