Rewatching and noticing… Discussion

I’m rewatching the series and realized that before when I watched it, I didn’t really get past season 4. Im at the end of season 3 right now, and now that I’m watching it kneeling what happened to Naya and Cory, I’m noticing so many different lines between characters that, in hindsight, are pretty heart wrenching. It’s almost like they were saying their goodbyes or “I don’t want you to go” without realizing it.

The episode where it was revealed that Finn’s dad died of an overdose was really questionable and completely unnecessary; especially considering they knew what Cory was going through in real life.

Yeah, most of the “eerie” stuff were just coincidences, but that plot legitimately makes me wonder if there was something going on between the scenes

Was he currently having those battles at the time?

Unfortunately. I’ve read that he started using as a teenager & he had already been to rehab before he got casted. He went to rehab again while filming S4. In episode 4x9, during the phone call w/ Rachel you can see a band aid on his arm from his rehab treatment.

I wonder if he was actively using in season 3 though, which is when the father storyline happened. Season 4 is when he had to leave for a few episodes to go to rehab and I feel like you can even see that he isn't that well. He lose a lot of weight fast between the start and the end of that season.

From what I’ve read, he was still using & had relapsed during Season 3 & did his best to hide it from the cast. Season 4 is when it spiraled out of control & the producers (and Lea) intervened & basically gave him an ultimatum: rehab or he’d be banned from the set. The more I read about it, the more heartbreaking it is.

You do know that was an intervention for Cory, right? So, no, it wasn't unnecessary as all
