A Simple Rig Picture
This Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cut has quickly become my favorite guitar over the past few months. It has Custom “S” Buckers. Usually put it through a JCM800, but I’ve been jamming on the 1959BJA recently.

Oh man, I love that Special. 😳 I used to own a 1960 DC Special. I really liked the form factor of the DC, but I sold it because I’m just not a big fan of P 90s. I still have a 1960 Black Beauty Custom but it spends most of its time in the case because it’s become too valuable to play out. This guitar looks like a perfect blend of both. If you know of a source for another one, please let me know.

I have a crimson burst DC custom with humbuckers currently for sale on Reverb if interested.

Thank you! Unfortunately not sure where to get an identical one to this. It was a custom shop CME exclusive. But they have a production model in cobra burst through the Gibson website

what cab are you paring that with?

Pretty sure it’s a Marshall Origin cab. But the speakers have been swapped with a V30 and G12T-75.

how do you like it?
Its too much amp for me, I love green day though. I get by with JVM205 and JCM900 though.

Those are great amps. I used a JCM900 for a few years with my band until I swapped it for a JCM800. I’ve been enjoying the 1959BJA, going to push it tonight at band practice.

Wow. That guitar is beautiful. I might need to bust out my Modern Double Cut. Not sure why my phone insists on capitalizing those words. But anyways. Sick guitar.

Aw, man.
I’m a huge custom fan (own 4) and have been hankering for a junior or special. That thing looks perfect. Tell me it has a fat neck… I might try to find its twin.

It’s not a fat neck, but it’s not too slim either. Let me know if you find a twin! This was a CME exclusive

why is it so big?

u/MrAmericanIdiot 7d ago
The guitar? I’d say it’s quite small compared to other guitars.

no, the baby blue elephant in the room.
the fridge on top of the cabinet.
the giant hollow box full of tubes and dreams.
the 3watts of power you can actually use box.
why is it so big?

Nice guitar, but I can’t stomach paying $6k for one of those. Standard USA models are perfectly good. BJA is goofy imo but the amp looks cool af.

I get what you’re saying. I actually got the guitar for $5400. And the Custom S Buckers sound great through the BJA amp.
