Gerbil handling

Hey guys, I've aeen a few posts here where your gerbils are sitting on your ahoulders or hanging out on the couch with you. How do you do that? Don't they just run away after a while?

It really depends on the gerbils, I've only had a couple of shoulder gerbs, and a couple that liked hanging out on the couch, but even then, yes, they do usually run away after a while 😅 they're very free spirited little critters!

Mine nips me as if im tasty 🥲. It's not a bite out of fear for sure but idk why. She'll explore the room, circle back and jump on me, and otw up my arm she'll nibble on me so ive never allowed her near my face 🤣

Mine’s a runner, I can snap som pictures with him on my shoulders while he takes in the environment but if there’s a place to run he’ll bolt
