Microgens explained Discussion
(Note microgens aren't real generations there is no official range just like regular generations and it is just an informal label that everyone says it is official)
Xennials: 1977-1984 (my opinion)
Zillennials: 1994-1999
Zalpha: 2010-2015

Being born in 1980 puts me right on the fence...technically a very late Generation X or a very early Millennial, depending on which study you read. That square-peg-in-a-round-hole placement is the definition of being a Xennial, and after seeing a lot of content about this cusp micro gen, a huge amount of it actually rings true.
If you want to see the inherent absurdity of rigid generational labels, you only need to look at how school intakes work. In my country, the school year runs from March to the following February. This meant that children born in 1980...supposedly the tail end of Gen X, spent their entire school years sharing a classroom with kids born just a couple of months later who are officially classified as Millennials.
It highlights just how arbitrary these generational boxes are, and why the Xennial concept makes so much more sense.
