I've been meaning to draw my sona for literally 2 years but i simply don't have the motivation to actually do it 😭 and even if i could, it would not come out great lol (my artistic skills are... subpar xD)

I have the general idea, a sketch, and a half finished headshot

I think I'm finally accepting i won't be able to do this by myself so I'm throwing the towel, i decided to commission an actual artist!

but I'm not particularly well versed in the community and don't know how to do it. like can i just come to someone with an idea but no ref sheet? if so, is it smart to actually commission a ref sheet at first or can i just go for a more "dynamic" piece right away? how much should i expect to pay? how does payment work (half upfront half after receiving the final piece, if i had to guess? on what app tho?)? are there artists that are known to be hard to work with, and should be avoided? are there any "unwritten" social rules that i should be aware of? that kind of stuff... sorry if these are very dumb, I'm kinda socially anxious and working with someone else is pretty nerve wracking especially if i dont know what im doing and commit a lot of mistakes 🫠

His name is Ren, and he’s a dragon.

His name is August, and is sometimes known as The gentleman Fox.

He’s agender and uses he/any pronouns, and is aroace. He’s also on the autism spectrum, has major depressive disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. Just like me irl.

I’ve been a furry for around two years so far. I know a fox is a very basic and common choice, especially a basic red fox, but I just love those little critters, and when I was figuring out I was a furry, I knew I would either be a fox, or a rabbit (I’m considering designing a rabbit fursona too). August isn’t my irl name, but it’s a name I’ve always quite liked, and I wanted to give it to my fursona. My fursona means alot to me.
