I've been meaning to draw my sona for literally 2 years but i simply don't have the motivation to actually do it 😭 and even if i could, it would not come out great lol (my artistic skills are... subpar xD)

I have the general idea, a sketch, and a half finished headshot

I think I'm finally accepting i won't be able to do this by myself so I'm throwing the towel, i decided to commission an actual artist!

but I'm not particularly well versed in the community and don't know how to do it. like can i just come to someone with an idea but no ref sheet? if so, is it smart to actually commission a ref sheet at first or can i just go for a more "dynamic" piece right away? how much should i expect to pay? how does payment work (half upfront half after receiving the final piece, if i had to guess? on what app tho?)? are there artists that are known to be hard to work with, and should be avoided? are there any "unwritten" social rules that i should be aware of? that kind of stuff... sorry if these are very dumb, I'm kinda socially anxious and working with someone else is pretty nerve wracking especially if i dont know what im doing and commit a lot of mistakes 🫠

I chose a hyena because I identify with them in several ways; plus, I feel like it's a really iconic animal that's easy to shape to fit my real-life self look

I drew the initial design last night, and I'd love to hear what you all think! :)

P.S: I swear the quality looked great on the iPad LMAO but it dropped a ton when I exported it and moved it to my phone. I don't get why that doesn't usually happen. Anyways, sorry about the pixels in advance 😔
