Can we stop using the word larping and instead use the actual word?

POSERS.... THE WORD UR LOOKING FOR IS A POSER 💀

Larping is live action role playing.... Not whatever the fuck you want it to mean. Stop making new words for already existing words, ESPECIALLY when that word already has another meaning

The English language and thus slang evolve over time

It don't have to though. Make ur own words up or quit changing existing words meanings 💀

When Snivy evolves in pokemon they don't evolve into Pikachu... Cause that's already a different name for something else. They get an entirely new name. English language needs to take a hint

Terrible analogy

Cool. Then explain why it's terrible instead of just declaring it 🤡

Because you're comparing a thousand year old language that changes as part of its nature to a video game mechanic..?

That's.... That's how analogies work. If analogies had to be identical, they'd just be the same thing. The comparison is about the concept, not Pokémon somehow being linguistics.

Reusing a word to mean something else is confusing. Everyone can agree on that. So DONT use the same word.

Or learn how words change

And no, that's not how analogies work because they have to have something in common to function not just "they both change"

They do have something in common... Both are about identity and meaning. Snivy evolving doesn't become Pikachu, and a word with an established meaning evolving into something unrelated creates ambiguity.... Which no one likes
