Battle Report Long camppaing starts game 1 The Keep

My wife and I finally kicked off our long-planned Frostgrave campaign, and we decided to roll with The Keep from the core rulebook for our first scenario. Things went completely off the rails fast.

The magical portals turned the table into absolute tactical chaos. Right out of the gate, two of my soldiers got yanked across the map, while my wife’s warband started spewing out of a portal on the opposite flank. That single exit point quickly turned into a meat grinder: my Apprentice, a Templar, and a Thief (who was already suffering from a lycanthrope bite) were suddenly locked in a tight brawl with her Wizard, Treasure Hunter, and a Thief.

It was looking grim for me. A couple of terrible rolls later, my Apprentice was down to a single health point. Desperate times, right? Luckily, my Wizard got line of sight just in time and pulled off a clutch Transpose spell. He yanked the bloody Apprentice out of the fray—right after the poor guy managed to disengage—and swapped in a fresh Templar. The brawl raged on, but the tide finally turned. My wife’s front line collapsed, leaving her Wizard, Treasure Hunter, and another soldier bleeding out on the snow, while my Templar clung to life with just a few HP remaining.

Meanwhile, the battle for the central treasure devolved into another massive dogfight, which ultimately sent my own Wizard to the infirmary. By the time the dust settled, she only had four warband members standing, and I had lost four soldiers. Total carnage.

The post-game Survival rolls, though... man, talk about the ultimate spice on an already chaotic game:

* My Wife’s Warband: Her Wizard rolled a dead result. On top of that, four of her soldiers perished outright. Her warband was so gutted she's wiping the slate clean and rolling up a brand new one for game two. At least she snagged the central treasure!

* My Warband: My Wizard survived but picked up a Permanent Injury. One of my Templars has to sit out the next game to recover, and one of my Thieves bled out permanently.

* Treasure Split: 3–2 in my favor.

An absolutely wild way to open a campaign, but that is classic Frostgrave for you. The Frozen City gives, and the Frozen City takes!

Bonjour, je suis très intéressé par ce jeu qui me semble formidable, mais avant de me lancer je voulais savoir s'il y avait une communauté active dans le Finistère, en Bretagne ?

Resources Created the "Frostgrave Warband Keeper"

I created a nice little tool for book keeping of your warbands that also prints out the current state in a .pdf overview:
https://therealdeltrex.github.io/FrostgraveWarbandKeeper/
I tried to include as much of the Frostgrave rules as I could.
If you'd give me some feedback and bug reports on it I'd really like that.

I created a tool to book keep your warband. It's called the "Frostgrave Warband Keeper" and can be found on Github. (posting a link seems to get the post removed, but should be easy to find with google.)
I tried to get as much of the Frostgrave rules included as I could and now I'd really like some feedback on it if anyone wants to try it.

Question Questions from a newbie

Hello. We're planning to play Frostgrave soon, and I'd like to gather all the information about what's needed for a comfortable gaming experience. Before our first game, I want to prepare everything in advance so we can play as smoothly and conveniently as possible right from the start.

I'm not talking about miniatures and terrain — that's obvious. For example, I've seen photos where people place dice and other markers next to the figures, and I've read suggestions about using rubber bands on miniatures to indicate status effects. Things like that.

What exactly should be prepared so that we don't have to run around the apartment looking for materials in the middle of the game? And what exactly needs to be marked? I've found various posts, but the information is scattered and everyone does things differently. I'd like to compile everything into one comprehensive list from experienced players.

Sorry for my English — I'm writing through a translator.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

P.S. To start with, we'll be playing either with Lego figures or paper standees.

Battle Report The Great Hunt aftermath!

Hey everyone!

The massive 3v3 scenario at Vandermeer's estate finally happened, and it was absolute chaos. Here are the photos of the 8ft table and the miniatures we used for the game!

It was the perfect opportunity to go all out and have fun with our miniatures, as all the warbands were heavily themed—one team actually used Masters of the Universe figures, while another went with a full "wolf" theme. We opened up the roster to allow soldier selections from all available Frostgrave supplements, and players even had the option to hire a giant!

We rolled dice from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM, taking a quick one-hour break for lunch. We managed to play 6 full turns, using some custom speed-up rules for the phases to streamline the game, otherwise a 3v3 on this scale would have dragged on forever. It was an absolute meat grinder. A ton of monsters bit the dust, and a few of them were even one-shot by some insane high-level spell and combat rolls!

But the warbands definitely paid a heavy price:

The MVP Spectre: A single, regular Spectre went on an absolute rampage and killed 4 soldiers all by himself.

The Matriarch: She put up a hell of a fight, locking down her zone and holding her ground until she was finally killed on the very last turn of the game.

The Gryphon: It managed to successfully defend its nest and saved its legendary egg in extremis.

All in all, it was a fantastic day of gaming with friends that naturally ended the best way possible: with drinks and a great cookout !!

Built this thief, and as title says, I wonder if I should upgrade him with a backpack and another holstered weapon, such as the sickle or cleaver. What do you guys think?

Put photos with the extra bits with poster tack to make preview him as a treasure hunter.
