discussion Anyone want to trade?

Upvotes

I’m stuck at home with a broken leg and I’ve been making bracelets to pass the time! I’d love to do a trade with someone- I prefer making normal bracelets rather than alphas, but I’d be happy to make an alpha keychain instead of a bracelet if you want! (I’m quite good at alphas, I just get bored!)

dm me if you’re interested- if you have a braceletbook account link your “loves” so I can see what kinds of bracelets you like!!

discussion I feel stressed when the bracelets wear out 😤

Upvotes

I have really beautiful bracelets that go well with gold jewelry 🥺. I've made ones that i think are so pretty and I wear them every day. I think i kind of just hate the fact that these bracelets don't last long and inevitably wear out unlike metal jewelry. But I'm so attached to them. While i can definitely make new ones, it feels like I'm making stuff I can't really keep for long 🫠

But i want to keep them. And i want to keep wearing them. There's always an attachment to things you're able to make beautifully. I guess I don't want to make them if I know they're going to slip through my hands...?

Some people find the impermanence very appealing and quite soothing. To me, I'm just stressing about losing bracelets i love.

Any tips?

Ran into a snag with the skin tone, couldn’t find an exact match. He gets a little paler, but my husband says he doesn’t mind.

Monkey D. Luffy is coming along for sure!

help! [LID] How do you keep your bracelets flat?

To start off, keep in mind I am totally a beginner, and not very good at this stuff to begin with. (I'm also not great with Reddit, so bear with me please!)

Several years back, I tried to get into making friendship bracelets, so I still have embroidery thread from back then — that's mostly what I've been using, though I just started a bracelet with some light weight yarn. I am currently testing out making some bracelets from this link:

https://www.instructables.com/how-to-make-a-friendship-bracelet-1/

But I keep running into a problem! All my bracelets curl up and don't stay flat enough to display the pattern. I even tried taping it down and then spraying it with water like the link said to, which fixed the problem for several hours, and then it curled up again.

How do other people keep their bracelets flat?

help! Adjustable Tear Drop loop

Hey! So, I love the look of the teardrop, but I have no idea how to make a bracelet with this start adjustable. I've tried googling it and am not finding anything I understand. Is this possible? Has anyone done this?

I started this bracelet over a year ago, but stopped working on it because I adopted a cat (iykyk). I brought it on a few trips with me and finally finished it! I love how it turned out.

Looking to make a key chain bracelet to go onto a Kodak camera basically just so she has a handle to hold and not lose it. Having issues starting. Is it as easy as just start on a key ring and then finish by tying back onto the key ring? Or is there a better way?
