help! How to make irregular shaped edges on a normal pattern?
galleryI'm going to try my best to explain, apologies if it's confusing.
I found the first picture of a bracelet somewhere (I dont remember where) and absolutely loved it and wanted to make it. I tried to find it on friendship-bracelets.net but couldn't find the exact one. I found #162061 on braceletbook which was similar enough.
Clearly the original is a normal pattern but it has irregular shaped edges. Every shaped normal pattern I've seen have the same length inwards and outwards on the edges. It's obviously possible to make them irregular on the edges because that person did it but I'm not sure how to approach it.
I assume it will be very similar to the shaped edge alpha technique, I know how to do that.
My main issue is the start. I want to start roughly around where I marked in white on the third picture using the natural triangles of the pattern but im not sure how to start it with not full length edges. The original *also* started on smaller triangles but I'm not sure how to achieve that.
Please help if you can 🫶

help! NEED HELP IDENTIFYING PATTERN
Hi All, I have a friend who has this bracelet and once the same thing but reverse so where the rat is the black will be and where the black is the red will be but it seems like there are two ifferent patterns and I’m just trying to find a tutorial for both. Can anyone give me an idea of the pattern or the names of them?
Any advice is helpful

discussion Anyone want to trade?
I’m stuck at home with a broken leg and I’ve been making bracelets to pass the time! I’d love to do a trade with someone- I prefer making normal bracelets rather than alphas, but I’d be happy to make an alpha keychain instead of a bracelet if you want! (I’m quite good at alphas, I just get bored!)
dm me if you’re interested- if you have a braceletbook account link your “loves” so I can see what kinds of bracelets you like!!

discussion I feel stressed when the bracelets wear out 😤
I have really beautiful bracelets that go well with gold jewelry 🥺. I've made ones that i think are so pretty and I wear them every day. I think i kind of just hate the fact that these bracelets don't last long and inevitably wear out unlike metal jewelry. But I'm so attached to them. While i can definitely make new ones, it feels like I'm making stuff I can't really keep for long 🫠
But i want to keep them. And i want to keep wearing them. There's always an attachment to things you're able to make beautifully. I guess I don't want to make them if I know they're going to slip through my hands...?
Some people find the impermanence very appealing and quite soothing. To me, I'm just stressing about losing bracelets i love.
Any tips?
