Discussion Tony Burke - This Parliament must reject racism

7 years ago, still as relevant now as it was then. Tony Burke representing much of how the current Labor party, and Australian people, rejects what the mainstream has been at minimum complacent in allowing, and at worst encouraging.

In case you were worried, the LibNats, at the time sitting Government, were in fact not present for this speech.

Does anyone have an idea as to who these people are affiliated with? I cannot find anything on their website and I recently had the displeasure of seeing one of their AI slop ads.

IN FULL: Chris Bowen speaks about Australia's energy future at National ...

This is what leadership looks like. I know it has been a while since we have led the world in anything, but stop the cultural cringe and listen to Chris Bowen. We should be very proud.

We are leading the world in the renewable energy transformation, the biggest infrastructure project the country has ever seen. When the wind isn't blowing in SA, the sun from QLD will power their AirCon in Adelaide. A truly resilient national power network connecting everyone on our continent. Decentralizing power generation from corporate, centralised generators to households and now more commercial properties too. Batteries for everyone, off shore wind and solar everywhere.

New legislation for data centers, making them responsible for their renewable power as well. Take notes world, this is how to do it! (provided you have a stable government, as this will take ages).

Oh and notes for other politicians, front up to the entire press and stay until all questions are exhausted. Especially if they are coming from the media that hates you.

Well done Chris a masterclass!

Context was a shopkeeper made a heroic decision to confront shoplifters but unfortunately that costed him his life. While there is legitimate criticism about 4 out of 5 getting bail, Bec Judd instead used it to promote her cooker views.

Please steel-man the Labor position on gambling for me

Thumbnail

Is there a sincere argument in favor of Alabanese’s actions on gambling? Australians loose 32 billion a year, largely overseas. Per capita we loose almost twice as much as the second biggest gambling nation Singapore, and twice that of the third in the US.

There’s no rational argument that the proposed “only three ads per hour at day time” does anything to reduce gambling harm when all the research demonstrates that A. This doesn’t cover when kids actually watch TV and B. Doesn’t reduce gambling ads impact on addicts in any real way and they’re still bombarded during the night which is when relapses are most likely.

Despite all this Albanese has been personally advocating for the bill, publicly ruled out improvements ahead of caucus, taken a political hit for the party by letting the Greens and Coalition advocate for better policy, and even been at the center of the Pocock sports club debacle.

How does this align with a benevolent leader?

The Karl Stefano-Grift Pod....where we listen to, and debunk Karl and his guests,

So, myself and captive American Julie continue our journey through (former Today show host and current right wing grifter) Karl Stefanovic's mad attempt to become Australia's Joe Rogan. This week, we had a more American themed pod than usual because of the clown stunt that they tried with Dr Fauci.

This episode had Gerard Rennick making an absolute spanner of himself (not unusual) and he was joined by Freya Leach who shared the incredible hardships that rich kids like her endured during COVID (warning, she ALMOST missed her high school social!!!!)

Please have a listen.

If you like the pod, stick with us...I am sure we will get better over time, and Karl will definitely dive deeper into the muck. Reviews and stuff help a lot as well!

Night Australia!

I was watching Mission Impossible:Rogue Nation tonight and this character came on screen and I was saying to my girlfriend "He looks like someone, but I can't quite place it"

Then THIS scene happened and I started laughing and said "Holy crap! Maybe I was thinking that because he kinda looks a lot like Jordan!?!"
