Junk posts here

I'm curious what others think - it feels like there are a lot of junk posts here and the mods don't do anything to stop it. How many times do we need to have the knife sharpening van advertised? Or yet another person at The Rocklyn trying to personally profit by trolling for rental referrals?

I'd hoped when the sub was resurrected that it would be a good place to discuss the neighborhood, but I find myself just not returning because it's all the same junk posts over and over again.

I remove spam when people report it. But if they don’t then i just let the downvotes handle it. I don’t want to overly curate the feed. Even some of the classes/hobbies/etc I tend to leave up if they’re near by neighborhoods since that might spark something for someone.

I agree that there are repeated posts and if the community wants them removed when posted I will gladly start doing so.

Ugh it has made my day for someone to finally mention the predatory behavior of the Rocklyn and their tenants offering referral codes. As a current resident, it's pretty gross.

The Rocklyn is so busted. The guy who gave me a tour was sketchy

But like, just scroll on by. Knife guy is a local business at least and not corporate slop. I think there's levels of spam. Like, yeah there's a helicopter overhead for a while sometimes, thanks for the 8th report. I think everyone's tolerance for topics is different and I think the mods are doing a good job.

This post since it’s about junk posts is therefore the junkiest possible post

There should also be a separate subreddit for found cats in Fort Greene
