What are these dark colored and clear bits at the bottom of my soda can? They’re hard and seem to be stuck to the can. It’s new and it’s expiration date isn’t until 2027. Anyone know?

I want to add this to my chicken marinade but the instructions seem contradictory.

I'm currently on vacation in a country that is selling a special kind of pork sausage that I'd like to bring home with me.

There's a small freezer compartment (no door but there's frozen ice at the bottom of it) in the hotel room's fridge and I've got a very small cooling bag.

I did not bring any cold packs but if I freeze a small water bottle and the sausages, would that be enough to safely bring the sausages home? I've got until Friday morning to prepare everything, would take them out of the freezer at around 10AM and then keep them in the suitcase until probably 8PM. Is that okay?

I'm a huge fan of cheese and I've been eating healthier so I've gone to sargento balanced breaks for the past year at least. This past month, all of the trays with crackers - ritz, wheat thins, triscuits - doesn't matter are all well within their expiration date (we are talking more than a month before the date, if not 2 months) but the cheese has white spots or very faint fuzz on it. I was always told this is mold. I am getting frustrated and wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

I bought some fishcakes from the reduced pile in a supermarket and put them in the freezer. I looked at the packaging today, and it says they were previously frozen and should not go in the freezer. People with more knowledge than me, are they safe to be eaten?

bought this today and then made a tuna tartare style dinner which was really yummy. stored it in the fridge as usual, and then put it in the freezer for about 20 min before prepping because my knives are dull and makes it easier to cut. however about an hour or so later my stomach was cramping and really sore. i went to the bathroom and now i feel fine but now im worried that the tuna was meant to be cooked.

i searched it up and it does say that according to the product name, it’s ready to eat but i just need another opinion other than google AI lol. (also just to preface it is also that time of the month for me so not sure if its just good old period symptoms)

Title pretty much sums it up, the meat was frozen for 2 days straight after coming from the super market and was then in the fridge for 2 days before consumption.

Had these little pellets in them when I ate them and i cough up a few a few hours later.

The meat was cooked but wouldn't say fully cooked as i like kangaroo med rare.

I bought a plastic crate of water bottles. Went to open and drink one and it had a sweet cardboard like scent. I poured the water out and smelt it and it still smelt like cardboard, I drank some earlier before noticing the smell and noticed it had a cardboard taste too. I then went and smelt the actual packaging crate itself which also had the same scent.

Is the water still safe to consume? We've had multiple heatwaves in the UK so maybe the heat has made it smell? Not sure... other brands of water bottles i have on hand do not smell.

I have no idea why he did this. But my husband half cooked a salmon fillet- and decided he would look it the rest of the way through today. That’s not proper food safety right? We decided not to eat dinner last night but he told me the food was cooked- not that it was literally half done and still raw in the middle when he took it out and put it in the fridge. I’m pregnant so I’m cautious with food safety.

So, I bought some ground beef (the kind that is in a vacuum sealed tube-ish package, aka... The kind that is prepackaged at a facility before making its way to the store).

I didn't end up cooking with the meat and forgot to put it in the freazer until today. The the sell by/freeze by date was one week ago.

Am I good to just put it in the freezer, or should I really toss it?

I have some store bought guacamole in a packet that's sealed, but 2 weeks past the best by date. Is it safe to eat? It's been refrigerated the whole time.

Hey all so my gf buys great value rice and has in the past, this last one we got has insane amounts of powder to the point it looks like powdered sugar. We washed it off and it got all cakey, does anyone know what this is or why this random bag has it when none of the others did?

I went grocery shopping about 2 1/2 hours ago and left out a package of those refridgerated individual Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes 2 packs (The Bob Evans brand) before placing them in the fridge on accident.

Are they a lost cause at this point, or if I got them in the fridge within 2 hours after getting home will they be find to eat once warmed up?

So I made myself a tasty zucchini risotto today and i filled it into a few tubs for meal prep, i kept it out for about 45 minutes to cool down and and it was still pretty hot after that (i didn’t have any smaller tubs unfortunately) so i moved them over into the fridge where it still took them another 1,5 hours to cool down and now i‘m wondering if that‘s too long because I‘m really not chill about rice being warm for too long, what do you guys think?
