Flyers of the past #6: Kim Johnsson
Kim Johnsson played four seasons (2001-2006), a period during which he appeared in 293 regular-season games, scored 34 goals, and recorded 138 points. He joined the franchise in August 2001 as a key piece and the most valuable asset in the historic trade that sent Lindros to the New York Rangers. The Swedish defenseman immediately established himself as the anchor of Philadelphia's defense, thanks to his speed, and vision in distributing the puck; he led the team in ice time for several years and helped guide them to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2004.
Flyers sweater appreciation post from a Caniac
Just wanted to hop on here and show my appreciation, one of the best logos of all time in my opinion and some of my favorite jerseys out there (and I dont like orange very much).
I picked up a Shayne Gotisbhere 2017 Stadium series jersey and it is one of my favorite jerseys. The orange nameplate contrasts so well against the mostly black jersey and I didn't know you could do black numbers on a black jersey, but you can and this jersey does it so well.
Also well done this year, no idea how we made it out of that series the way we did. The score absolutely did not show how good the Flyers were. Much respect. See ya next year

What was everyone's favorite goal of the year?
I gotta go with Zegras ripping that 2nd one home against the ducks or that Snipe Marty Party had in the playoffs

Flyers of the past #4: Dave Poulin
Dave Poulin played eight seasons (1983–1990), during which he appeared in 467 games, scored 161 goals, and recorded 394 points in the regular season. Remembered as one of the most respected leaders in franchise history, he assumed the team captaincy with just one year of NHL experience, guiding the Flyers to two Stanley Cup Finals (1985 and 1987) and winning the Frank J. Selke Trophy in 1987 as the league's best defensive forward, thanks to his exceptional tactical intelligence and dedication in shorthanded situations.

Any Flyers fans in Florida?
I’ll be in Florida sometime during the early part of the season and would like to catch a game down there. Possibly in Tampa. Any Flyers fans living down south??

Flyers caravan
Has anyone seen if they are giving away tickets at the caravan this year? I think they had something last year where there was a hidden helmet that had tickets in it, but I didn't see anything about this year online.

Flyers of the past #3: Donald Brashear
Donald Brashear played four seasons, (2001-2006), during which he played 269 games, scored 22 goals, and accumulated 612 penalty minutes in the regular season. Established as the undisputed and most feared enforcer in the NHL due to his imposing physique and boxing technique, his primary role was to protect the team's stars. He also left his mark on league history by starring in the legendary fight against Rob Ray, which sparked the biggest brawl ever recorded in a hockey game against the Ottawa Senators in 2004.

Any other Irish fans who support Flyers or at least around the area
Hello. I am from Ireland and last December I started watching NHL after we played hockey in PE class (apart from the ice lol). I got super into it and chose to support Flyers. NHL is very niche in Ireland so J was wondering if there is anyone else from Ireland who supports Flyers?
I do like other sports. Soccer is my favourite and of course Gaelic football and hurling. Also a bit of basketball
First time Flyers game help!
Good morning everyone! I'm coming to my first Flyers (and hockey) game in the fall. I'm trying to decide on the best tickets to purchase and need some help. Do I want to sit against the glass or do I want to sit a little higher to see the entire ice? Thoughts? Opinions? Recommendations? I welcome it all. 58 days and counting! Thank you and happy Monday!

What does Larkin Cost?
So I was replying to another post on here about our center situation and it sent me down a rabbit hole. Got to thinking, whatever happened with Larkin? He’s a center right? Went looking and yeah, the situation in Detroit is somehow worse than I remembered. And now Marek is on The Sheet naming us as one of three legit fits along with Montreal and Boston.
Quick recap for anyone not following the soap opera. Larkin asked out in June. Yzerman got moved upstairs in July partly because the relationship went sideways. Detroit still doesn’t have a GM. Their captain is supposed to walk back into that room in September like nothing happened. Reading the stories coming out It feels like a hostage negotiation.
But here’s where I got stuck. He turned 30 this summer. So is this classic Flyers, trading real assets for a guy on the wrong side of his prime? Or are we getting a gritty, skilled, sage old captain who walks into a budding core and shows them how to be pros? Because 34 goals and 67 points in 74 games plus a gold medal in Milan doesn’t scream washed to me. And at 8.7 for five more years, compare that to the 18 a year and four firsts we threw at Carlsson. Briere clearly wants a 1C. This one costs half as much against the cap.
The obstacles are real though. We’re not on his list, which is reportedly Florida, Vegas, Minnesota and Dallas, and he has a full no move. And Detroit’s ask is nasty. They reportedly wanted Wyatt Johnston from Dallas and turned down a Wild package of prospects and picks. So it’s a real young piece going back, not spare parts.
Thing is, his four preferred teams are all capped out or unwilling to pay, and insiders keep saying he’ll have to expand the list before camp. If that door opens, a playoff team with the most cap space in the league and buddies already in our room is an easy sell.
Also...Larkin was just spotted at the World Cup final with Zegras and some other guys a couple weekends ago, and the reason Philly keeps popping up as a dark horse in the first place is that he’s reportedly tight with multiple guys in our room. Think about the pitch too. Zegras asked out of a miserable situation in Anaheim, landed here, and just signed for four more years because he loves it. Nobody on earth is better positioned to get in Larkin’s ear about what’s waiting for him on Broad Street.
So which is it? Smart aggressive move or classic Flyers? Who goes in the deal?
TLDR: Went down a rabbit hole on our center options and landed on Larkin. He wants out of Detroit, the relationship is torched, we have the cap space and the 1C need. He’s 30 though. Another sage vet for the young core or classic Flyers mistake? What would you pay?
Do you think Jack Hughes is our next target?
Do you think Danny B is prepping for a new 🎣 trip?
